For everything I like in this there was two things I didn't. A shame as on paper this is my kind of play. Wish they'd stuck with smaller linear design and hub areas rather than open world and put the resource into game design and script.

Just to add here unless it's disabled on hardcore in the open world a certain hut will allow you to disable all bots in the area for like 10mins allowing free exploration if your getting angry with the enemies constantly going for you. As a Russian I want to mention one thing about voice acting - this is the norm for us. You're either stuck with rather shitty Russian voiceover or with subtitles. It's not the case for me since I know English, but in general Russian and English are extremely different languages, so proper localisation is hard to get by. Atomic heart is just the first game with original language being Russian, which has become so big.
Was there Ray tracing in your pre-launch version of the game? It a was advertised months/years ago as being Ray tracing enabled but apparently yanked out of support for the feature at some point.
Thanks again Mortym. Been really interested about this title, and as always, I find your reviews to be the best. Game really looks like a BioShock type of experience, and those games were fantastic. Glad to see your channel has really exploded. Enjoy your success and keep up the great work. 👍🏻
It's a solid game, but I really wish they had focused less on the bunker aspect, and focused a bit more on the Bioshock Infinite style floating cities suspended far above the ground.
I am interested to know if you start editing the youtube video a few days in advance and write the script before hitting 100% It seems like it would be so rough to 100% the game on the 19th then release a video the very next day without some good amount of leg work already done.
Hey Morti, great review as usual! But hope you're taking care of yourself man, I can't imagine the length of the playthrough sessions you gotta get through and then make these videos to pull em out so fast just after release.
I guess by doing a pre-release playthrough you couldn't use Flawless Widescreen or UE4 injector to increase the FoV? I mean FW wasn't updated yet and there were no guides for injector. I would've threw up playing with that FoV. Great review, man!
I sometimes open your videos and leave it like that even if I have no intention to play the game you're talking about. You deserve all the success you're getting for your hard work.
I think I’ll be waiting for a Sale on this one. Hedgie (the rolling ball boss robot thing) gave me a bit of headache (just from all the visual noise) which is weird because I don’t normally get headaches based on video games and flashing imagery. It looks really good though!
If that gave you a headache the pace of dialogue will give you an aneurysm, the main character and his glove never stop fighting for who can be the funniest to the point of it overlapping any ambience the game had
Considering this is Mudfish's first game, I'd say the technical issues are completely acceptable. Heck, if Bethesda can release games - Redfall / Starfield - in such poor states of play, a first timer gets major cudos for what they've created. I'll buy and play, just to support the studio. Let's see what else they can produce!
Great video. Would you recommend playing on hard first? I presume two playthroughs will be necessary to get all achievements? I can imagine if you miss any, there's no level select.
Another great review: thorough, balanced, and insightful! As an aside, really love your stuff! Your review of neverwinter nights really sealed in my subscribe and appreciation for your work :)

Personally never really wanted to play Atomic heart, but your review showed that's somewhat worth it. Maybe it's weaker than bioshock, but should be fun enough
I agree with a lot of what you said, I think it's just pretty much a great game, not perfect as there still are many bugs but the concept is great. I think that the best part is that it's on xbox game pass, which makes the game much more accessible for lots of people without having to pay so much money. I played the whole game all with Xbox cloud gaming and had a great time.
I'm sure your schedule is packed but if you're willing to do action games like this I'd be interested in your thoughts on returnal, now that it's out on PC. It's certainly an action roguelike but also has an interesting story.

This was very thorough and useful. You did a great job! I’m definitely gonna grab this at some point
It's a solid game, but I really wish they had focused less on the bunker aspect, and focused a bit more on the Bioshock Infinite style floating cities suspended far above the ground.
Cool, I’ll buy this 6 months from now - looks like that kinda game.
I am interested to know if you start editing the youtube video a few days in advance and write the script before hitting 100% It seems like it would be so rough to 100% the game on the 19th then release a video the very next day without some good amount of leg work already done.
I usually write my notes and gather footage as I go which I use to record audio. Then I just have to put it all together which I've streamlined a ton.
Hey Morti, great review as usual! But hope you're taking care of yourself man, I can't imagine the length of the playthrough sessions you gotta get through and then make these videos to pull em out so fast just after release.
14:25 Are there suppresors?
No
Most mature person on the planet for not mentioning vending machines mommy dialogue
That was the fastest 100% lol. Well done mate.
No FOV sliders is huge for me. Thanks for pointing the lack of them in this game.
I guess by doing a pre-release playthrough you couldn't use Flawless Widescreen or UE4 injector to increase the FoV? I mean FW wasn't updated yet and there were no guides for injector. I would've threw up playing with that FoV. Great review, man!
Oh I don't care about FoV at all, I just know its a big feature for people checking out reviews for this type of game
In a world drowning in bs you're channel is illuminating. Never change. Don't sell out!
I love this game with all of it's problems.. I also love the constant trolling with the puzzles.
The narrow FOV definitely gave me a headache to watch too
@@-Monad- Same happened to me
If that gave you a headache the pace of dialogue will give you an aneurysm, the main character and his glove never stop fighting for who can be the funniest to the point of it overlapping any ambience the game had
The game looks fantastic as a huge fan of bioshock, fallout ill definitely buy it
Great review as always! Badass day 1 Gamepass banger
bro the game is out today and this dude 100% it already? Content creators not fair!
You are quickly becoming my go to reviewer, keep up the good work.
Wow so quick 😳
Considering this is Mudfish's first game, I'd say the technical issues are completely acceptable. Heck, if Bethesda can release games - Redfall / Starfield - in such poor states of play, a first timer gets major cudos for what they've created. I'll buy and play, just to support the studio. Let's see what else they can produce!
Great video. Would you recommend playing on hard first? I presume two playthroughs will be necessary to get all achievements? I can imagine if you miss any, there's no level select.
Currently playing on hard and first 2 hours were hard, but then it became pretty easy so far
Another great review: thorough, balanced, and insightful!
As an aside, really love your stuff! Your review of neverwinter nights really sealed in my subscribe and appreciation for your work :)
3:10
Welp, I'm avoiding it until deep sale then. There are a few games I'll buy without one, but that's a feature I look for regularly.
I'm excited to dig into this game at some point. The entire setting is amazing imo, I love alt history Sci Fi.
You should try Prey if you haven't already.
@@mikeryan1043 It's been on my radar for quite some time. One day I'll dig into it.
Is there actually any dlcs available yet? Cos it says I can buy 4 of them.. but what's the point of me paying almost double the price if there's nothing to show for it???
Can you post a from start to stop video or live stream how you "100%" these games, the time in which you do it is remarkable.
Not having a new game plus in single player games especially rpg games should be a crime. It’s so easy to do
Mortismal, how much is the similarity between Bioshock and Atomic Heart?
Gameplay wise they're fairly similar
Best looking slav jank ever.
This is a first game from a brand new studio. I think this game shows real promise.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Bioshock. How is this game similar or completely different?
He might not have played Bioshock. His channel was originally very focused on CRPG games (Divinity, Pathfinder, etc.)
@@友-16 ah yes of course. I actually watch a lot of his reviews- and guides.
If he is getting into these type of games, I'd recommend the original Stalker game. Fantastic, very much like an rpg game, except it absolutely isn't
Do you think this game would have been better as a semi-open linear experience with staged fights simular to the Doom reboot?
No
A big negative of this game for me was the audio. Usually I don't care about audio too much, but the audio was so bad I actually noticed it and did impact my experience :/
The open world section was easy for me since I always just used mass telekinesis for everything.
No mention of how small the subs are? Im literally using glasses right now but its still extremely smallm
You're the man!
Hi Mortismal! would you play Pathologic? (Classic or 2) its a really good game in narrative and isn´t very popular (About 2,4% of players have seen the 100% of content on steam)
Maybe at some point, no current plans
@@MortismalGaming i would love to see it! Meanwhile, keep the awesome job you're doing in the videos, I'm a big fan!
How in the world do you do it?
I have a 3070ti, i9-12900K I hope the game runs as good as it does on your PC. I'm intending 1440p on medium or high.
What’s the fps look like on the steam deck? Was it a smooth 60 or 30?
Woah, sick that you're also able to review some stuff earlier than usual, very nice to see! Really dig your style of review, very grounded and as unbiased as a human can review something.
I don't do any gaming myself anymore, but these videos are always interesting
I love how eloquent text in your reviews is. Especially in this one, very well-paced and informative.
thank you for the review, it's very high effort. so far the only reviewer I watch who did not recommend it is skill up (even then he said he'd somewhat enjoyed the game), so looks like the game's at the very least solid.
GManLives isn't too positive on it either
Personally never really wanted to play Atomic heart, but your review showed that's somewhat worth it. Maybe it's weaker than bioshock, but should be fun enough
Melee and the dominator gun hits
How is the music?
How can you not include an FOV slider?
I agree with a lot of what you said, I think it's just pretty much a great game, not perfect as there still are many bugs but the concept is great. I think that the best part is that it's on xbox game pass, which makes the game much more accessible for lots of people without having to pay so much money. I played the whole game all with Xbox cloud gaming and had a great time.
Heyo Mortym! Definitely going to check this one out. Been keeping tabs on it for a while. Thanks!
I'm sure your schedule is packed but if you're willing to do action games like this I'd be interested in your thoughts on returnal, now that it's out on PC. It's certainly an action roguelike but also has an interesting story.
Fantastic work on your review! I think I'll be waiting for a patch or two and then maybe I'll pick it up on Game Pass.
I got the game can you run in it that’s my main question or is it just like just move the thumb stick forward
