I think Soma and Charlotte will always be my favorite protagonists
Charlotte, because Portrait of Ruin was the first Castlevania game I beat. And I heard from somewhere that Charlotte was bad and weak (not true btw) so I beat the entire game just using Charlotte, and it was really fun.
And Soma because I beat DOS right after POR and I love his story and design. Also he's...just very pretty.
Soma is such a fun character to play as. So many abilitys and variations.
One of the most versatile characters in Castlevania imo
He is also (Spoiler, I guess) the reincarnation of Dracula, and he finish the terrifying and dramatic story of Mathias.
Thank you for mentioning Harmony of Despair multiple times throughout the video, such a fun game
I am super late, but I really excited of more Castlevania related topics. As always I am here to support your content you deserve much more in the future
Yoko's normal attack actually recovers HP, MP recovery just happens passively for all three characters with Yoko's being the fastest
LET'S GO NEW VIDEO
23:00
What do you mean?
Her last name is still
「ヴェルナンデス」(Verunadesu/Berunadesu/Belnades) in the japanese version. "Fernandez" is probably a mistranslastion
Yoko was originally planned to appear in Bloodlines but she was cut in favor of just John & Eric.
Yup, her concept design in Bloodlines looks really different & unique!
Really enjoyed how well researched this video is. Love your energy and passion man!
Yoo thank you so much man!
I would like to thank you in advance for introducing me to Getsu Fūma Den
Going through every video on this channel now, really great content for someone just now getting into the series. The in depth knowledge of the games and mythos combined with terrific production value makes this an easy instant subscribe. Can’t wait to see more while I work through the games in tandem!
This is so motivating for me, thank you! Going to keep doing my best to keep learning and improving these
simon and trevor (under his japan name ralph) also appear in konamis arcade music game pop’n music as playable characters
glad Stella and Loretta got their own official mode, though Serio's Castlevania Fighter really improved them letting them stand, walk, crouch, and other thngs, even float, and much more balanced and interesting movesets. Desmond's sisters Zoe and Dolores Belmont should have been able to fight and be playable.
I haven’t checked it out, definitely will need to sometime
I have no word other than… goddamn, this is an extremely ambitious and well edited video, goodluck with your endeavor
My favorite character is Soma because _Soma best boy, there and that_
Thank you so much, going to keep doing my best to improve these! Soma is one of my favorite characters as well. Stay tuned there’s a lot more where this came from
Yay this is a awesome video. Im also happy you talked about the n64 titles. Well i never played them i was very interrested in them and your videos are really well made and castlevania lore is very interresting to me but it is sort off complicated. Really well done much love❤
Thank you so much!
@@StockeTepes ur welcome :D
Dudes I like grant danasty
I saw Jotaro in the thumbnail, and as the Dawn of Dio dev, im happy lol
Jotaro in every thumbnail for this channel 🦍 Looking at your Mod that looks awesome man haha keep up the great work. And thank you!
Very glad to see the OOE appreciation in this video, the story is so good and underrated
think it was IGA's story driven Castlevania game, though CV Harmony of Despair counts too
@@fivefive9514 You mean Harmony of Dissonance? The names are so easy to mix up lol
@@megmoore8681 oh meant Harmony of Despair the 6 players co-op one with a lot of CV characters playable. that was the last game IGA promoted/was involved with. Shanoa is playable in that. Order of Ecclesia before that was his last traditional story driven IGAvania in that series.
@@fivefive9514 Oh, I thought you were saying Harmony of Despair was story driven lol
@@megmoore8681 oh yea, just saying Order of Ecclesia was IGAs last story driven CV, and Harmony of Despair is IGA's last CV game.
Hector and soma. Might be my favorite overall but I do enjoy Juste he just has my favorite design with alucard
You didn't trash legacy of darkness? You got my sub bro 💯 we need a remake of that game. Very underrated
Nice video, dude.
What editing software are you using?
22:47 I thought they were reinstated in Portrait of Ruin
I love Sonia, and it's such a damn shame that she's not canon... she's the only woman (if I'm not mistaken) among the Belmonts! It's such a shame that the DC game was canceled...
Juste is a really nice character, his dash allows you to cross locations very quickly, he has magic books, various modifiers for the whip... I had a lot of fun playing as him! a very great character.
Alucard in SotN, along with Soma from AoS and DoS, are probably the two best characters in the series, as they both have an interesting story and a bunch of nice gameplay mechanics and features... And Shanoa, yes, a powerful woman and a great character.
Joachim’s name is pronounced WHO-WA-KIM
As someone who knows absolutely nothing about Castlevania, what a fucking banger video. Since all I do is watch anime I should definitely leave room for the adaptation since I've great things about it. But anyways NEW STOCKE VIDEO LETS FKIN GOOOOO BOIISSSSSSS.
I don't like Ayami Kojima Simon Chronicles design but I like her grimoire of souls when she bring back the Barbarian design and the same rectal
i just noticed that there was dark god galderas theme in the background
This was cool to find. I'm curious given your thoughts. Who would you pick for a Castlevania Judgement 2 roster (assuming they no longer look like Death Note characters)
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed this one! A Castlevania fighting game video is DEFINITELY something I’ll make in the future so stay tuned 😆 but just to answer your question now, I’ll say I think it would be great to have all the Belmonts under one roof. We’ve never had a game with all of them & something like a fighting game would be the perfect place for an event like that to happen
Great content. Btw, what is the theme at the beginning of the video?
Decisive Battle I from Octopath Traveler. All music used in this video is in the description, great OST. And thank you!
@@StockeTepes Thank _you_ as well!

He also has a descendant named Michelle Danasty. She however only appears in a Japanese-only novel that takes place a year or so after Dawn of Sorrow.
Correct! The light novel Ricordanza of the Gods Abyss. Love this story lol. Made a whole video on it last year so check it out if interested! Hope you enjoy

And here I thought I was the only one who thought that.
This should have been organized by game
So in POR it's revealed use of the whip can kill its wielder due to bloodline. Such was the fate of John Morris. So is this characteristic of the whip in any way tied to Richter being corrupted by Shaft's influence?
12:41 How the hell did the person on the clip manage to cast two different spells in a row?? If I am not mistaken the only way to do so is by cutting the video in right places to make it appear like one has done so
In a way, this video helped me learn of all of the playable CV characters
That's not to say that I never knew of any of them, but there were some characters that I didn't know about, so thank you for making this!
Thank you so much!
@@StockeTepes You're welcome
Fun fact, Leon is in a dlc in the game OBAKEIDORO along side Alucard
Yup! We streamed it here on the channel a few months ago, really fun time. This video was made before Konami started to do a BUNCH of collabs (Brawlhalla, Dead Cells, etc) so I’ll have to make a video delving into all of them sometime soon haha
Alucard e Maria my favorites
Damn i wanna play this series. Should i start with my nes?
One of the coolest things about the Castlevania games is all of them (with exceptions) are pretty self contained. You can play whichever game looks like it will interest you the most and still have a great time with them. However most all of the Castlevania games are connected, so if you want to experience them fully and understand references/callbacks/setting up events for the future you can also play them in chronological order or release order. It’s really up to you. I’d recommend playing what looks the coolest to you! This could honestly be a whole video topic haha
@@StockeTepes ok in that case ill just play chronologically
What is the game at 2:06?
Harmony of despair?
Nope. It's Harmony of Dissonance
French, pronounced: "Joost"
I'm just curious. How come you didn't include lords of shadow? Sure it's a reboot but it's still part of the franchise.
I only wanted to include the mainline continuity for this video, but I’d love to cover the whole lords of shadow series in the future! Those are games I need to beat myself since I haven’t played stuff like Mirror of Fate yet. Will definitely come back to it
Hi
Why did you skip lord of shadows
How come you ignored the Lords of Shadow games? I mean the sequel wasn't much but the first was great and mirrors of fate was decent.
Pronunciation... smh
