@@JulesVonBasslakeCotM is hands down in the top 5 of Castlevania side scrollers, but HoD was good, not great. At the time, they were producing both HoD and AoS, like some other franchises did (Pokemon Red/Blue, Crash Purp/Spyro Orange, Zelda Oracle of Seasons/Ages). I even called them Castlevania Red and Blue because the titles on the cartridges were colored that, lol. You can clearly tell they put their focus in Aria's production, but moreso like he said at the start of the vid, this was what pushed the main narrative forward, not another side story.
The mistake of calling this weird bull with petrifying breath a "gorgon" is also one that the official D&D books make as well. What should actually be a Gorgon is instead called a Medusa. Thats like calling every vampire a Dracula
Well, they’re possessed copies of Medusa’s head. Been part of Castlevania since the very first game. Medusa has herself shown up in quite a few of the games so it’s perfectly canonical (yes, it is strange having multiple of a singular entity, but it’s Dracula man! He commands death itself, surely a few million Medusa heads is nothing for his power).
@@MerkhVision It could be. but I feel like it is infinitely more smug if it is just wine. or you could just pull a Zangetsu and drink from a sake dish.
Love the extra effort u put into dressing up like Soma and sitting in the throne in the same pose as Dracula did in the famous “what is a man?” scene lol!
Soma does the exact same thing as a reference to SotN! If you lose to Chaos' second phase, that is. And the video is referencing Soma's pose. Still, what a surprise lol

Loving the Dracula throne room setup, even if only on screen for a few seconds, this really brings the mood for what we're getting into! Also I had no idea this game was so broken, I learn something new everyday!
Indeed! It's a hell of a lot of work for something used so little, but that shows just how much they care about the channel and presentation :3 It's a lot of dedication!
I remember that if you used the flying armor properly, you could get to the clock tower from an early stage even without the glitch. Of course, this route allows you to omit the scene where you meet Julius. (フライングアーマーを上手く利用すれば、早い段階から時計塔に行く事が出来た覚えがあります。このルートではユリウス(ジュリアス)との最初の出会いを省略する事が出来ます。)
It has taken me 20 years, multiple Aria playthroughs and various videos to notice: A. Arikado is how a japanese person would likely pronounce Alucard. B. That's Soul Search on the start of the game. C. Alucard must be losing power with age bc the spell doesn't kill all monsters on screen
C. is probably not the case; IIRC, his power diminishes when he doesn't have his sword, and it's likely sealed within the castle with dear ol' dad because that's what he did in previous games Anyway, if I'm mistaken, I'll be corrected in time lel
he prob just doesn't have any weapons equipped at that point. He is weak as hell back in SotN when Death takes his gears. Or just a plot reason for Soma and the player to get introduced to the Soul mechanic.
I gotta say, glitch complication videos of this sort are kinda hard to come by nowadays, but this here is fantastic! Nice presentation, your voice is easy on the ears, and I like you you kinda structure is almost like a walkthrough and bring up story beats and gameplay elements that don’t relate to any glitches. Great job all around!

there's a zip you can do at the beginning of the game to skip to the chapel area. There's a room with a cow in it that you can get to using the backdash jump with the Flying Armor soul, and by zipping through the wall it puts you into the chapel. I always ended up near the beginning of the area, but you can end up after the Manticore boss if done properly.
@@PhobiaSoft You can actually get there with an extremely precise damage boost. Speedrunnerds use it. It's a big pain to perform, but worth checking out.

Amazing video! Thanks, been having a ton of fun following along with it while playing a new save. I did want to point one thing out, however. In order to do the the Bat Zip successfully (16:15), you have to press L + R + Right at the same time, not just R and Right. I tried this for 20 minutes until I figured this out. Once I did, I was able to complete the zip on the first try every time.
Yup same thing for me played this on gba and was able to get in the wall about 30 % of the time then tried pressing L and at the same time while pressing R then clicking R again after to turn back into a human then down to get into the walls much faster and consistently then never could get the zip till I pressed L and R together and whatever directional button needed at the same time so I was the same way funny enough great vid!
I played along the whole video and the only skip I couldn’t do funny enough was after defeating great armor boss and getting double jump I couldn’t get the skip for the teleport room back to start of castle to get to hammer. Tried numerous times and couldn’t get it so I had to make the walk of shame back to the start instead of teleport
