It’s pretty good even if you aren’t running spiders tbh. A one sided fog that creates its own blockers for 2 is nuts. Imagine this with Archetype of Finality out.
They aren't they best are reprinting narrow commander exclusives.
You might want to take a look at Terrifying Presence. It's not Arachnogenesis, but you have about 2/3 of its effect for a fraction of the $$, AND the spider flavor. =)

I've always thought ishkanah was a really neat commander, but have always struggled in my builds. And a lot of it had to with with budget and not wanting to drop tons of money on it. I have been hoping for a long time you'd make this video and I gasped when this showed up in my feed, so awesome! Thank you!

One of the big things Ishkanah decks want is pretty reliable delirium counts. Adding in a few more artifacts or enchantments that can sacrifice themselves and the cycling lands can boost the decks impact while still keeping it affordable. Armillary Sphere is really cheap, Tranquil Thicket and Barren Moor help. Moriok Replica is an artifact creature that you sacrifice for draw, Burnished Hart ramps and counts as two types for delerium. Bow of Nylea and Whip of Erebos are also good non-budget additions.

We just recently built an Ishkanah deck. As much as some pople might not like it, Strength of the Hordes is SUCH an on-theme wincon card. Also Vraska, Swarms Eminence can make a deathtouch focused deck even more deadly.
Used to run this deck and had a spicy value engine. Ashnods altar and nim death mantle. Nasty amount of spiders (and damage)

Could you do a Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor deck tech? It's a really fun commander with loads of budget friendly tricks.
I always run a conjurers closet, voyager staff, doubling season/parallel lives/primal vigor, and of course the nim death mantle+ashnods altar combo for infinite spiders+infinite mana and therefore 1 black to kill target opponent
My favorite tribal deck is my Samut Naya Warriors deck. She's fun and I have a slight exert sub-theme
Interesting build! I am very surprised that the deck is not built around some way to get cards in the graveyard for Delirium. Focused solely on getting the creatures out and being able to swing versus draining with Ishkhanas ability.
I am working on building Golgari Spider Tribal right now, it would be cool to see this deck revisited with another upgrade video with newly released cards.

I've had this idea for a spider tribal deck, but involving Doran the Siege Tower. Also, there are some options to consider : Renowned Weaver (a 1/1 human shaman for a green that can be sacrified for 1 and a green to put a 1/3 Spider enchantment creature token with reach), and Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker (a 2/2 spirit for 4 and a black that says "Whenever a creature with power 1 or less is put into your graveyard from the battlefield, you may return that card to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step if Shirei, Shizo’s Caretaker is still on the battlefield.").
I do understand why the latter isn't part of the deck since going for anthem stuff means the spider will no longer have 1 or less power, but Renowned Weaver is a missed opportunity in my opinion.

This is a great commander for spider tribal, before this video I would have probably gone with Arasta of the endless web, as a spider commander. I think I would have added a bow of nylea and a grim feast to the deck as well
Ashnods alter+ nihm deathmantle+ ishkhana with delirium = infinite spiders. You can use a cheaper sac outlet if you want but I would argue this is a must for this deck. I would also say acid web is to situationally key to take is out for adaptive automation, I would just take out sporecap. I have a pimped out ishkhana deck if anyone is interested in viewing other upgrade options for this deck

I've been tinkering around with my own Ishkanah list for a few days now, and I wonder if this deck manages to achieve Delirium before casting Ishkanah... I mean, you'll always want the three spider tokens, right?
I'd advise to switch some of the ramp and card draw spells for Vessel of Nascency, Crop Sigil, Mulch, Winding Way, Grisly Salvage, Dark Bargain and/or Bitter Revelation to "feed" the graveyard with different card types. Sinister Concoction is also worth a try for this matter, in my opinion.
Conjurer's Closet and Deadbridge Chant are also very strong options for an Ishkanah list, if one doesn't mind spending an extra buck. Who doesn't love having a big spider in their closet? =)
Maybe Birthing Boughs for some extra "spider" tokens. They won't have reach, but then there's Spidersilk Armor, which is half an anthem, 100% on-flavor and goes great with Assault Formation.
Wild Pair is a great budget substitute for Kindred Summons. Most spiders have similar stats (1/3, 2/4 or 3/5), so you'll get that extra spider in most cases. =)
Also, Colfenor's Urn or other "toughness matters" cards like Ikra Shidiqi or Ulvenwald Observer.

I play Ishkanah Spiders with more of a self-mill theme, Morality Shift is a pretty fun card. Also Triumph if the Horde is a thing.

Not going to lie. I've been following forever it seems. I bleed commander n oathbreaker. This deck is the first one that I am dying to do! Seems like the past few years there's been a few spiders come up I've missed
I love Iskhanah. She is a real nice commender.
Asnods altar and Nims deathmantle can get you a instant win with Iskanah out. Could be a good upgrade so you have more options on winning
This gets an auto-like from me!!! Spider tribal is my jam, though I use Ishkanah as one of the 99 in my spider commander deck.

I know its not really budget enough for this deck, but "Aractogenesis" is a must have in a spider deck.
Only question I have is what can you run for graveyard recursion to take advantage of some of those etb and ltb effects?

There should be a spider that generates 1/2 web tokens with reach, defender, and exert blocked creatures.
I feel weird that Swarmyard and Arachnogenesis weren't in the upgrades section...

(This is the first deck tech I'm watching, I was curious about what magic he'd make to make this trashy commander usable... And well, it ended up as a trashy deck, because it's impossible to make a good Ishkanah deck... >.>)

Was wondering why Arachnogenesis didn't appear in the video, then I looked at its price. Also, Grisly Salvage is always a good card for graveyard based decks, even if this deck isn't really that graveyard focused

Fairly new to MTG, looking forward to building this. I did have a question about mana base though. I thought in commander you can only use the colors of your commander. Am I misinformed? ._.
Yes and Ishkuna has black in her ability so she can have black in the deck still like how a certain Artifact dragon (Sorry can remember it's name) is all colors but is a colorless creature since it's ability is all mana colors

Finally beat Mitch to a deck. I've had this built for awhile now. But it seems that he is ignoring delirium and her activated ability in favor of going wide with spider damage. I feel like this deck strategy would be better suited for Thantis.
Can you do an update with Shelob as the commander?
Since I have a very strong fear of spiders, this deck is psychological warfare. After a a few turns, I'm likely to go "I'm out" and hide under the table.

Another variant you can play is with thantis the war weaver. Forcing your opponent to attack into you is awesome when you can keep making thantis bigger and bigger. If your playing a 4 player game, the commander incentivises the other players to ignore you so it doesn't get bigger.
I'm happy you included aerial formation, as I feel the way spiders can be better is by making them really scary to battle with.
Thantis gives you access to red, so you have insult/injury and things like pyrohemia, since it can blow up smaller creatures and your spiders survive due to high toughness.
If you wish to play a similar card, pestilence exists (black variant of it).
I also ran Enchantments that gave creatures I control riot, and attacking creatures I control double strike. I was happy with the deck list, tho was disappointed you didn't have any sort of delerium mechanic built in for ishkanah eff
What about Temple of Malady? Or is that too obvious of an upgrade?
Can I do a tribal using Thantis instead of Ishkanah as a commander, using almost the same cards that you said in this video?

Whoever did the art on these cards did a fantastic job because I realised while watching this video my arachnophobic ass is never gonna be able to play this deck; some of this art is really good at making me scared
