I'm a classical-tradition chorister and a folk musician, and while it's totally handy to find the 4 part harmonies written out for the chorus, you can just HEAR the sheet-musicness of this. I wish every school choir director who wants to teach their choir this song would do it without touching a score or an arrangement. It's a folk song, and folk songs should be learned by ear. The viral Wellerman video is absolutely the correct approach/arrangement. It's spontaneous, the harmonies are done by ear, and there's no silly key changes or overly arranged chords. This is a folk song with folk harmonies, and a choir-ified arrangement is a missed opportunity to teach a choir how learn a song in a way that exists outside of the formal, buttoned-down, nose-in-the-sheet-music choral tradition.

I like the score - but kinda agree that the lead singer sounds like he's trying too hard. Also the C-flat in the start was definitely not flat - has got to be on purpose ya?
