Killer playing. I just wish more people knew how hard that stride bass is. It's like running full speed at a house with a key in outstretched hand, hoping the key finds the lock before your face finds the door.
I love your analogy. I have learned several pieces by Joplin and I'm always a little disappointed by how easy it looks because it sure takes a lot of work. It kind of just looks like bouncing around carefree but internally one really has to focus to land on the right chord.
The wild west and pirates were not only very close historically they even overlap. Pirates and Cowboys could have (and probably did) run into each other.
@@theungentleman Technically you are correct as pirates have existed all throughout history. But, I imagine that the original post was referencing the Golden Age of Piracy (a lá Pirates of the Caribbean) which existed during the early 18th century, long before the Wild West and Cowboys as they, as is culturally recognized, existed during the mid-to-late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Wellerman is not from the recognized age of piracy, ie the early 18th century. Sure, it is a sea shanty, but it is one that was sung by whalers/was written during the mid-to-late 19th century.
