You say you don't have words....."My heart was smiling!" - you couldn't have said it better!! Gary certainly knew how to pour his emotions through his guitar in such a beautiful way!! Well done!🤘
@@marymargaretmoore9034 youtube.com/@robertphelps1574 Robert is correct. Greeny and Stripe look very similar. The easiest way to tell them apart is that Greeny has chrome covers over both pickups and Stripe has exposed black pickups without chrome covers. Greeny is supposed to have a fantastic sound when playing the out-of-phase neck pickup, but in this video Stripe sounds phenomenal when he plays the neck pickup. Kirk Hammett of Metallica now owns Greeny and plays it in concert rather than keeping it locked away in his basement.
Moore was one of the all time greatest guitarists. The version from this concert in my opinion is his best performance of this song. B.B. King comes out later to play with Moore and tells him " You are hot tonight young man." This entire concert is fantastic.
I was privileged enough to see Gary live,on a few occasions with Thin Lizzy, G Force and solo ......the word genius is banded around far too easily but in Gary's case he really was a genius. RI.P...Great reaction👏👏
One of the most underated musicians in the history of music. A legend , a talent, Parissienne walkaways , Walking by myself , Friday on my mind , out in the field, The loner , Empty rooms , Midnight blues, thunder rising, picture of the moon, and the list can go forever . Ooops Story of the Blues and Over the hills and far away .
Lucky enough to see him live in 2007 at Wembley Arena. I just shut my eyes and let this wash over me. One of the most glorious, timeless pieces that I've ever heard. I've never heard anyone make a Les Paul cry its heart out like Gary could. RIP.
I grew up listening to Gary Moore and listened to him for decades. I absolutely loved his music and I cried like a baby when he passed away. It was like a knife in my heart.
His tone, his feeling, technique... Ahh, so missed!! 😍Thank you for this - I will go through all his work now... 🙂For me very few guitarplayers gives me the chills, goosebumps... Gary does, every time!
Stunning! That is the power of Gary Moore playing live. I have seen him many, many times and I was always stunned like you. It is not something to apologise for. Words such as beautiful and passion say all that needs to be said. Thank you for reacting to my favourite guitarist of all time. You two are adorable. You always give such sincere and heartfelt reactions. God bless!
I love your reaction! I can see into your eyes that it moved you and touched your soul! The song touches me deeply and watching your faces added to that experience! Thank you!!
In the discussion when it comes to greatest of all time when it comes to guitar players. Simply brilliance personified RIP Gary thank you for your talent and your music
I was lucky enough to catch Gary Moore live in Glasgow in the late 90s. He played Still Got The Blues, and it was fantastic. I experienced partial hearing loss at that concert. I was stood about 10ft from a Marshall stack and it took me about a month before I could hear properly again. Totally worth it though. Amazing concert. Such a shame he died too soon, he was great.
I saw Gary Moore live in concert three times, the last occasion in Oxford in October 2009. I was so shocked when I heard about his death just over a year later. Gary was on fire that night, his performance was extraordinary. I only read recently that one of Gary's biggest admirers was George Harrison, and that they were near neighbours in the Oxfordshire town of Henley. Gary was a frequent visitor to George's house where they would spend time swapping music ideas. Gary covered one of George's songs "That Kind of Woman" with George playing slide and rhythm guitars and backing vocals on Gary's 1990 "Still Got the Blues Album". I was so surprised that he wasn't more successful in America.
one of my absolutely top favorite guitarists. be it hard rocking or heavy bluesing - always amazing! This may be the moste beautiful of his songs with a masterful recycling of licks from his previously most beautiful "Parisiennes walkways". But I love his playing and composing in all - From "parisiennes walkways" to "dancing" to "run for cover" to "after the war" to "over the hills and far away" to "still got the blues" to "Oh, pretty woman" to "murder in the skies" to "out in the fields" to "jailbreak" to "boys are back in town". There are songs I like less than others, but there hasn't been a playlist I've made without at least a few of his pieces of his. A beast on guitar and honey in the voice.
It brings me such joy watching your reaction to the amazing talent that was Gary Moore. I have always felt this song stirs the soul and Gary's performances always leave people in awe. He was that exceptional. I still miss his work and thank God for music he left us. If you find yourselves with some spare time and want a treat. Watch Gary's Live tribute to Thin Lizzy and listen to Still In Love With You and Don't Believe a Word. It will enhance your day.
Gary, in my opinion has never received the credit that he deserves for being one of the best guitar players ever. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The looks on your faces are absolutely priceless. The expressions on your face say everything that you’re feeling. You don’t need to add words even though it’s nice that you do, your expressions say it all. I was born in the 60s And was fortunate enough to be a child, teenager/young adult in the 70s and 80s and I’ve been fortunate enough to grow up with all of this great music. It really is a joy watching you two react to the music that I love. Thank you for helping to keep great music alive👏👏👏👏👏
I started my obsession with gary moore back when he was playing in a band called thin Lizzy he was an amazing guitarist and this amongst other truly shows his genius
I managed to see Gary Live a couple of times, my favourite of which was Welcome to the Garden Party at the Milton Keynes Bowl in !986. Playing that day were Mamas Boys, Magnum, Jethro Tull, Gary Moore and it was headlined by Marillion. A great day indeed.
If this song was played during a conflict were bullets and shells where flying all around, the conflict would cease whilst this masterpiece played, the language of this song, singing and melody is truly universal.
The whole show is worth watching it you can find it.probably my favourite live version of this song, but as BB King said "you are hot tonight young man" every song that night was fantastic.
GREAT REACTIONS… LUV SEEING YOU REACT TO THESE MASTER ARTISTS, GARY HAS MANY ALBUMS TO TAKE YOU AWAY.. FRANK MARINO IS ANOTHER ONE OF SIMILAR STYLE… MASTERS ALL.. ROCK ON 👊🖖
The guitar he is playing was owned by original Fleetwood Mac founder Peter Green and the song Albatross by FMac includes the guitar ( give it a listen ) the guitar is now owned by the lead guitarist in Matalica.....the guitars name is " Greenie ".....you can see a short video about it on youtube..
i forgot......the guitar was built with a wire fault , but it was not corrected because of the unique sound , the owner who has it now said it sounds like a telecaster it shouldnt because its a Les Paul...check out the video
Gary Moore was such a talented musician and definitely one of the greatest Guitarists of all time. His ability to convey emotion using his guitar was unmatched. Combined with highly technical playing however so lyrical & unrushed - happy to hold the note, when needed & use pacing and silence as well. RIP Mr Moore, you are missed Sir.
Every time i hear this song it always puts me in mind of Paginini's Caprice 24. Not because they sound the same but the level of virtuosity and the sweetness of the notes. Gary goes right to my soul with the way he plays and has had me his biggest fan since the late 80's/early 90's. Great reaction too 😁

Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues Is one of my ring tones. The Other.... The 2nd impression of Karn Evil 9 by ELP. Fantastic guitar in the 1st one. Fantastic piano in the 2nd one.
It was actually weird when this song and the album were released. After more than a decade of Hard Rock there was suddenly a horn section on stage together with Gary playing the Blues

If you enjoyed this and want to enjoy another video of Gary I would search out the video, recorded at the same club, of Gary inviting B B King on stage to play The Thrill is Gone. Trust me, you will love watching that video as you watch two amazing guitarists playing call and response and having a lot of fun on stage. The video is about 10 minutes long and is well worth watching and will instantly lift your mood if you are feeling a little blue.
Love you guys!! *waves in swedish* I didn't fancy his voice when I was young because he doesen't....sound like a singer, untrained or whatever, but he sings really good with what he's got. The melody of the guitar is enough to tell a story about great emotions. what an incredible melody from a guitar god

He is a well known Guitarist's guitarist and Guitar God!
This has got to be one of the greatest songs of ALL time. Great singer and master guitarist....😢 sorely missed.

"Parissien Walkways" Next!! For me...his best song and riff! ❤
Absolutely!
Yep 👍
YES! The live version though. 🙂
Agreed and he got the melody from a 1963 jazz song called Blue Bossa by Joe Henderson
