  • These paper wasps are friendly, NOT aggressive. Their main food staple consists of other insects... so, they're beneficial for keeping other bugs populations in check.
These appear to be Northern Paper Wasps (Polistes fuscatus), not the European Paper Wasps (P. dominula). Regardless, neither are an aggressive species.

The brown wasps suck bad and are very aggressive. I just got hit 3 times and its painful. I cant get very close to the nest and they go crazy. They are in a car I have parked in my driveway.

The brown (and yellow) ones are native North American paper wasps, and are more aggressive than the European paper wasps, which are stark black and yellow with orange antenna. They will definitely sting you if they feel threatened. Apparently, the brighter their coloring, the more venom they have (aposematic coloring). The native yellowjackets are also starkly black and yellow, and much more aggressive. They'll chase you for 100 yards to sting you if you just look at them wrong.

Umm its because its a night; they are not very active at night; you couldn't do all that in the daytime ~ I have both wasps and mosquitoes at my house in the woods; they may eat mosquitoes but I have hundreds and alot of wasps as well.
