I appreciate learning of the more recent changes to the model, such as the movement and the column wheel. I almost never buy anything for names sake only, so I am going with the Sinn.
Great review and love the industry historical details which I didn't know. I really like the featured Sinn for all the specs mentioned, beautiful design, and for me particularly because of the smaller size ( my wrist is only 6.75 inches). Thank you again my friend for another excellent video. Cheers 👍
Thank you as always Raf! I learnt a lot whilst researching for this review 😄. It is a beautiful watch and wears really well - it would really suit you! Take care my friend and I'll see you back on Instagram in a week or so (I'll have so much catching up to do! 😳😄)
@@SirWatchGeek I love it, but for now I'm running on notice from my lovely wife, thus no more watch purchases for a little while 🤫🙂... Take good care my friend, looking forward to seeing your awesome pictures back on Instagram. All the best 👍
Hi Jurgen! Good choice sir - it's a lovely watch indeed! We're hopefully visiting Amsterdam later this year (my wife's books are translated into Dutch) and I haven't been since 2004! So a visit is long overdue. Thanks buddy and enjoy your Sinn 😃👍
Excellent review. Oh man. I though that choosing between a Navitimer GMT and a Hamilton Khaki Aviation Converter GMT was difficult! Now I get the Sinn in the mix. I have a lovely U50 so I like the brand. 30 vs 100 meters of water resistance is a big deal and I do like a showback case - both features that the Hamilton shares. However, the Sinn does not have the GMT function. I'm torn.
@@SirWatchGeek I should be able to visit the Sinn HQ in Frankfurt in the beginning of July. We don't have an AD of Hamilton in my country, but I do hope to try one out on the same trip. The Breitling is much easier to find, I believe. There is actually an official Breitling boutique in Frankfurt.
Thanks Johnny! Appreciate that my friend 🙏👍. Just looked at the Formex - that’s a mighty fine watch! Love the white dial! Is that on your wish list or do you have one already? I’ll have to see if I can get hold of one for review 😄🤞👍

Have one already 😉 ha ha!. Just want to see your take on it and have fun watching you. I also recently acquired their pilot and I really love them. Thank you.
@@SirWatchGeek I am certainly enjoying it, it’s one of a few in my collection and certainly has its place. I seem to buy watches that are a little left field and this is no exception. A very well built watch.
"it's not a Breitling" ? Well, it is more Breitling than the current Breitlings... Sinn bought the patents from the dying corpse of Breitling during their brankrupcy in 1978 and then Ernest Schneider from Sicura bought the remains of the company. So yeah, Im glad it's not a Breitling.
Top review as always. When you mention the sinn being good value at around £3k, it made me think of a question. I'm toying with the idea of treating myself to a luxury watch if I pass my masters degree, in addition it would be a belated 40th treat as well. In the £3k price bracket I've set my sights on the Tudor Black Bay 925. For me, given that it's made from precious metal as well as the design and in house movement, I feel it represents excellent value for money....but what are your thoughts & would you ever consider reviewing one?
Thanks Karl! What masters degree are you doing? and belated happy 40th too 😃🎂. Well - the Black Bay 925 is a mighty fine watch. Still doesn't seem to be widely available, hence it's holding its price on Chrono 24. Not the reason to purchase one, but it's good to know it's sought after. I'd love to review one, but it's getting hold of one. My AD (Francis & Gaye) unfortunately aren't Tudor stockists. For me, it's possibly slightly too small at 39mm, I'd also prefer a stainless bracelet over the leather, but it has a lovely sapphire display case back and as you say - lovely in-house COSC certified movement that's adjusted to -2/+4 after casing! I think it's a cracker!
@@SirWatchGeek Its an MSc Applied Acoustics, just waiting on the result at the mo 🤞🏻. I did wonder about that 39mm measurement too, I've got a 7.5in wrist and generally prefer bigger dials. I'd have to try it on wrist before diving in with both feet......as well as convince my "live in accountant" it's a good idea, so I may have to re evaluate my aspirations 😂.
Well all credit to you Karl - I'm sure you'll get top marks! 🙌👏👏👏 I've got exactly 7" wrist and my wife's 39.5mm Aquis looks fractionally on the small size, but it's probably down to just being used to larger watches! And good luck getting it past the 'accountant' - I have exactly the same problem 😆👍
To be honest, the seethrough case back, the smaller size (I've a small wrist) and the smaller price than the navitimer made me get this one instead. I love the navitimer and will probably get one at some point, but for now the Sinn is really nice replacement.
Congratulations to the Sinn 903! You made the right descission! I'm a huge watch fan and I have both watches in my collection the Sinn 903 St Black Edition and a Navitimer 01 46mm as Pan-America Edition. I love both and both have a great quality finish. I love the history behind the 903 and of course the 10bar water resistance which makes the Sinn much more as a daily watch for all occasions! I wish you a lot of fun with your 903! 👍
Great review, I haven't wanted to own a Navitimer,(too big and I wouldn't use the features) but it is an iconic design and with the slide rule it needs to be large. Sinn make good quality watches, but it is a shame they do expensive homages.
Thanks mate! Yeah - the Navi isn't everyone's cup of tea, and I'm pretty sure most owners never use the slide rule 😄. It was interesting doing the research, and finding (that this one anyway) isn't an homage as such, but the price of it would make me buy a used Breitling instead 😃👍
Sinn doesn't make any Hommages at all! There is not one Hommage in Sinns catalogue so far. This watch here is not a Hommage when you have listen to the history about the watch. If it would not been up to Helmut Sinn which bought in the late 70s all the machines, tools and rights from Breitling to built this watch durung the Quarz crisis Breitling probably would not exist today!
My Buddha they know how to charge in the UK. 6.700UK for the leather strap. Pity your not in Thailand because you can get a Breitling 46mm Navitimer with crocodile strap not tang, folding clasp for 5.600UK. How do I know this well I got one in BKK 2 weeks ago. In normal times you can get a flight here have a holiday and still save monies.
It's not that you get shafted. One of the big things is you pay 20% VAT. Thailand it's 7% VAT then they will give you a 10% discount here. That in total will make it a lot more expensive. Whatever I still prefer to live here. To take the icing off the cake I have just paid our council tax that's now gone up like the UK. Last week I had to pay 240BHT that's 5.40p UK Don't panic that's not for a week that's for a year. Diesel has just gone up as well that's now 62p UK a LT. Mind you it's winter time here now. Like the UK and the temp: has dropped to the low 30C. Ever thought of moving???
@@KHGuitarFreak1988 Ooh very nice! 🤞 you get it! The 46mm is right on the limit for me - in hindsight, I think the 43mm would have been more suitable, but this one came up at a very good price at the time 😄👍
