Every time I see a Moritz Grossmann, I appreciate them more and more. Something clear jewels and purpled hands that really draws me in. Clean simple, while offering still incredible detail.
I might not have Invicta on my buy list… but I also wouldn’t buy every Rolex. Which is to say there is a difference between buying invicta v. Buying one of “those” invictas. Whatever my watch bros buy, I hope they wear it in good health, even if I don’t have the stones to tell them it looks better on their wrist.
I've had a Fortis Cosmonaut Chronograph Alarm from 2001, I'm basically dropping by ever youtube video that actually mention Fortis, which is not that many at all :D
I just got a Zodiac Sea Chron a month ago and it has surpassed all expectations i had. The case thickness measures a little large but really doesnt feel like it on the wrist. I will be looking at getting a Zodiac super sea wolf in the future.
My Hanhart is one of the few watches I get comments on. I've had it for quite a while, and I find I love it more and more every time I put it on. You won't regret it.
I absolutely love this series! It's fun when someone asks about a watch I have on and I provide a brief history/description. I like introducing people to horology.
Nobody ever talks about were Steve McQueen got the hanhart 417. It’s not a-tale going to tell here . The vulcain cricket was worn during the 1954 climb by the Italians to the top of K2, this is the greatest achievement in mountaineering history, until the mountain was climbed again during winter in 2021 .
Teddy please do a video on Hajime Asaoka's - Kurono Tokyo. Very renowned watchmaker known for exclusive one of a kind watches who’s introduced a ‘design’ line of watches. Be interested to hear your thoughts on Hajime and the Kurono brand Thanks, Tom
I think some of these go against the exact premise you stated in the begining. Ressence? Vulcain? They have one watch that just comes in a few differing colors? I think Ressence is the definition of a startup. Tutima, I had never heard of them but at least they have numerous offerings. Grossman? Maybe if you run in circles where they can typically drop $40k+ on a watch. The Hanhart, Fortis, Zodiac picks I can get behind. History, multiple models, not in a large number of stores and must be sought out and still relatively affordable.
That’s not true about Hublot with respect but 100% true of MVMT!😂😂 Just because my man @Nico loves to trash Hublot(they sell lots of watches) doesn’t mean that Hublot (pronounced …(Oob-low) doesn’t make watches that serious(“deep”) horology enthusiasts own and want to own. Your gonna get plenty of jokes @ a meet up because of @Nico! It also depends on the model!
Seiko can pound sand. :) They obviously don't care much about QC these days. Given their movements are on all sorts of microbrands that CAN line up indexes, I don't see why anyone would want to pay their elevated prices for watches they obviously don't care about.
I question the 'cooler' aspect. There are plenty of cool looking watches on the market these days. They certainly have history but today's Seiko is not yesterday's, so to speak. Maybe it has something to do with production being in China vs Japan for their lesser models. I do have the Arnie on my list but it will likely be the only Seiko branded watch from them that I'd buy. In the sub $1000 range they have some good offerings, but mineral crystal abounds along with poor QC. Anything above $1000 and I'd rathe buy a Squale, Hamilton, or some other brand in that range. @@cardinalj
Very interesting video Teddy. I really enjoy the historical references which provide a line of sight from todays mechanical watch brands into our past.
I like the Vulcain. I like the look, it's history and it's function. The alarm is actually very useful as a reminder to eat, or a time to leave etc... What do you think of the watch and it's $5K price point?
The number one watch to tell if someone is truly into watches (and can afford one) is any Grand Seiko Spring Drive. The people who buy them can afford more well known luxury watches (like Rolex) but have done the research and decided that GS is cooler. Most of the people who have Rolex money would never wear a watch that says “Seiko” in the name. Also, A. Lange und Sohn, while fairly well known by people that are into watches, flies very far under the radar of people who are not. So if someone has a Lange, you know they are a watch person. 2 expensive options, I know, but they are dead giveaway that you aren’t just some shmuck with a Rolex that thinks it’s the best thing ever. Most Rolexes are Corvettes, not Bugattis. They aren’t really that special. And they’ve been recycling those same tired designs for 60 years with no innovation.
Consider starting with "What's on your wrist?" as your intro, especially if it highlights a watch that represents the theme of your video? It's a fun and engaging way to get viewers excited about watches.
Personally I dont think the almost $5,000 Price tag I see now on the Vulcain Cricket are that inexpensive but the mechanical alarm is something only an enthusiast would pursue.
Hey Teddy, i assume you're around my age (36) could you do a review of the seiko solar astron leon s kennedy model (resident evil) lots if RE/watch fans out there :)
I'd be careful of Laidet led companies. I think they are going on the cheap when it comes to movements and the customer service tied to direct to consumer purchases is very, very weak. My instinct tells me the group is all about the marketing and less about the craft.
Any watch beyond a basic Casio F-91W is unnecessary luxury. The only question is, how much money is that luxury worth to the wearer? 145€ for a Pagani 1701, 8600€ for the Omega Speedmaster or some millons for some super-gimmicky show-off-how-rich-one-is pieces.
I only know the brands that you have introduced in your video : VULCAIN, FORTIS, ZODIAC, Moritz Grossman . To be honest i don't want to buy one of this BRAND . There is so many well knowne brands for luxury watches .
Teddy sir, i have long said that alrhough i love watches i could NEVER buy a premium watch to myself........no no i would NEVER do that. however, i have no problem AT ALL in gifting premium watches to other people. Part of that purpose is in showing the person how valuable their own time is to themselves.......a Rolex for example thanks V
I'd like to have that she boss 🤣. Vulcain , as it reads 'The watch for presidents' is greatly underrated although it's a very good brand. Trying to make a selection of swiss watches is hard: you missed Tissot, Certina, Longines, Breguet, Oris IWC, VC, JLC just to name a few...
Grossmann make incredibly elegant watches…I mean they’re so beautiful they should be under glass at a museum for people to admire, not sitting in some watch collector’s watch box. They make some of the finest blued poire-style handsets on the market, very reminiscent of the finest old pocket watch hands.
Would love a video of what watch or watches the winner of the shopping spree won. I know for myself was very fun to dream and quite stressful to pick out favorites! Let's all live vicariously through the lucky winner!
Exactly on point. People who wear these brands care what they are wearing, not what other people think what you are wearing.
Every time I see a Moritz Grossmann, I appreciate them more and more. Something clear jewels and purpled hands that really draws me in. Clean simple, while offering still incredible detail.
Moritz Grossman watch reference? Incredible dial!
It should be for $50,000!!
I have been lusting for a Vulcain Cricket for years. 10k more Teddy!!! Congratz in advance. Well deserved 1M sub.
Invicta is the real class act for high end watch collectors.
😂
I know you mean it sarcastic but my invicta pro diver is a joy and for this budget even very accurate. I wear it right now to be honest 😊
😂😂😂
The 1953 is actually pretty nice. I put mine on a oysterflex clone band.
One of these days I'm getting a Hanhart...
so what?
My Hanhart is one of the few watches I get comments on. I've had it for quite a while, and I find I love it more and more every time I put it on. You won't regret it.
Me, too.
Yeah, the 39mm 417 ES chronographs of the past few years are reeaaaally attractive, so is the 40mm Mk I monopusher.
Teddy keep doing what you doing , we really enjoy your podcast and it is the best of allllll others
Zodiac is my favorite brand right now. High priced, historical and awesome. Love my Olympos.
Fortis is a classic! We had a cuckoo fortis when i was a kid, excellent clock. You got me interested in tutima.
I think some vanguard microbrands like Christopher Ward, Zelos, and Brew definitely give enthusiast vibes, as well
Not sure I’d include Christopher Ward as they are fairly mainstream getting close to fashion.
Certainly Zelos. Farer is another I have been admiring, their colorful dials are great.
I would also include Chronoswiss!
That Grossman was beautiful. Thanks for the content!
I absolutely love this series! It's fun when someone asks about a watch I have on and I provide a brief history/description. I like introducing people to horology.
Great video, Teddy. My mind immediately went to Doxa but it looks like it was covered in a previous video.
Fortis and their space watches speak to my watch collector & nerdiness tendencies. I love the Amadee-20
Secret grails for me would be the OMEGA Marstimer and the Clive Cussler edition DOXA😊
Nobody ever talks about were Steve McQueen got the hanhart 417. It’s not a-tale going to tell here . Coming up one one milly, Teddy!!! Been here since 200k subscribers!
I love Ressence! My Grail watch and lucky to own one for several years now.
lucky you! I have still both kidneys though!
always an education with your videos teddy. Amazing stuff !
Yes!!!!!! Fortis also invented the first automatic watch, water resistant watches, and first and only mechanical chronograph alarm watch.
Nope. First automatic was Perrelet.
OMG, my favourite Bond wearing my favourite watch 😂😂😂
Been eyeing the Hanhart 417 for a while - it’s a proper piece of history 👍
Casio. You know why? Because you can never have just one of them.
I'm a certified watch nerd but still learned about a couple of brands I had not heard of before in this video. Well done (as always)!
Teddy please do a video on Hajime Asaoka's - Kurono Tokyo. Very renowned watchmaker known for exclusive one of a kind watches who’s introduced a ‘design’ line of watches. Be interested to hear your thoughts on Hajime and the Kurono brand
Thanks,
Tom
Can’t wait to see you hit 1M Teddy, keep up the great work.
Tedddyyyyyy when are you reviewing the 70th Anniversary Longines Conquest already!

Hi all . The secret is build a watches to sale
But , sometime it's art, and must to pay !
⌚️🔬📈💷🤝🌍😎👍
Thank you Teddy !
These are brands you truly wear for yourself, something that reflects curated taste. Great video.
Casio 😁
While I don't know any dead giveaways for watch enthusiasts, I do know you won't walk out a watch meet alive if you wear Hublot or an MVMT to it.
That’s not true about Hublot with respect but 100% true of MVMT!😂😂

@@ryanjofre Nico organizes the watch meets he goes to .... Don't get him killed 😂😂
All dat AMZWATCH watches sssssoooooooo gorgeous!
You should try hmt watch
Besides watches for space, Fortis was originally known as the first manufacturer of an automatic movement.
Not true.
The UFAG 😂😂😂😂
Vulcain Fortis n Zodiac fantastic…about the last two just Perfect!!!!!💪👏👍❤️❤️
A few brands that come to mind are Sinn , Damasko, Dornblueth and Sohn, a Seiko automatic and any vintage piece
Dornblueth and Sohn, yes please.
Seiko can pound sand. :) They obviously don't care much about QC these days. Given their movements are on all sorts of microbrands that CAN line up indexes, I don't see why anyone would want to pay their elevated prices for watches they obviously don't care about.
@@JF-lt5zcI would say because Seiko is cooler and they will be around longer than the other micro brands.

Great picks Teddy! And another great topic to cover. You never run out of ideas for great video productions!
Eterna also seems like one of those brands to me.
Great video, what about ZRC?
What you meant was Vincero, righr?
Very interesting video Teddy. I really enjoy the historical references which provide a line of sight from todays mechanical watch brands into our past.
Thanks for helping develop my watch addiction.
Hope to see you soon at your new store near the Breitlings.
All good brands. Hanhart & Tutima are underrated
I’d love to hear your opinion about Cuervo y Sobrinos. There’s not a lot of brands from Latinoamerica
What are your thoughts on YEMA watches?
love my tutima military pilot with lemania movement
Moritz Grossmann. Man of legacy with his invention of the micrometer screw which are used in today's watches bearing his name.
Come on 1 mil!
Good video teddy moritz crosman is expensive watch how mutch cost?💯👍
My first watch was given brand citizen 70s Today i wear seiko kinetic gmt must say Bravissimo
Outstanding video. You hit the nail on the head. The only brand I may have added is Sinn. Really enjoy your videos…!
Damasko, Stowa, Sinn
For most of these watch brands you'll need a detective to even find an AD nearby where you live.
Teddy, I have not had a good experience with Zodiac
I like the Vulcain. I like the look, it's history and it's function. The alarm is actually very useful as a reminder to eat, or a time to leave etc... What do you think of the watch and it's $5K price point?
I must be in deep, I own 3 of these!
Steve McQueen got a LOT of mileage with watch manufacturers.
Nomos and Sinn is what I look for
Thanks a lot for the video. It would be great if you could offer some of the watches from your store.
Love the videos. How about one best rectangular and/or square dials? Thank you!

dope video I have always loved the obscure lesser known brands
4:20 My lord that Vulcain is absolutely beautiful in that color. I never knew about this one, but it immediately spoke to me
Consider starting with "What's on your wrist?" as your intro, especially if it highlights a watch that represents the theme of your video? It's a fun and engaging way to get viewers excited about watches.
Personally I dont think the almost $5,000 Price tag I see now on the Vulcain Cricket are that inexpensive but the mechanical alarm is something only an enthusiast would pursue.
Is that Tutima 798 a Porsche Design? I see so many brands using the Porsche design, I was wondering if anybody knows where it was originally used.
Hey Teddy, i assume you're around my age (36) could you do a review of the seiko solar astron leon s kennedy model (resident evil) lots if RE/watch fans out there :)
Somebody wearing a vintage Ollech & Wajs, then you know what they’re about.
Why don't you ever show brands like Favre Leuba, Graham or Girard Perregaux?
"Deep into the weeds of watch collecting" - lol
No "Wolf Point" ? :(
I'd be careful of Laidet led companies. I think they are going on the cheap when it comes to movements and the customer service tied to direct to consumer purchases is very, very weak. My instinct tells me the group is all about the marketing and less about the craft.
This video was a humbling experience
I would say any brand but Rolex, Fossil, and Seiko/Citizen is into watches
Wot no EBERHARD & CO?.... the beautiful Eberhard and Co scafograph kills and dive offerings from Tudor and Rolex stone dead...
H Moser, Lange, Glassutte Original, Nomos and Sinn should be on the list .
Is that a Marathon GSAR on your wrist or am I just happy to see you? My 2005 sample is my daily.
RAHHHH ZODIAC MENTIONED, WTF IS STABLE COMPANY🗣🗣‼‼
I think Cuervo y Sobrinos should be up there, a very unique brand and has a very interesting history!
If you have to approve to someone something instead wearing what you really love… i think you need to think about that
It would be nice to have Rolex money, but if I had it, I'd rather have a Hanhart, or a Vulcain.
What about Lang & Heyne :). IMO some of the greatest watches out there at any price.
Favre Leuba is a legendary brand and GP is one of the 10 oldest watch brands in the world.
I only know the brands that you have introduced in your video : VULCAIN, FORTIS, ZODIAC, Moritz Grossman . To be honest i don't want to buy one of this BRAND . There is so many well knowne brands for luxury watches .

Vulcain the true and only watch of President's - oh they make a great reissue of one of their divers too!
I'd like to have that she boss 🤣.
Vulcain , as it reads 'The watch for presidents' is greatly underrated although it's a very good brand.
Trying to make a selection of swiss watches is hard: you missed Tissot, Certina, Longines, Breguet, Oris IWC, VC, JLC just to name a few...
good choices. I probably would have added Sinn to the list.
Teddy noooooo - now everyone is going to be hunting the OG Night Diver. They are hard enough come across
yessss
Once you get past the affected “shutter” noise, an informative and otherwise enjoyable video. I received a Sea Wolf for my 13th birthday.
Grossmann make incredibly elegant watches…I mean they’re so beautiful they should be under glass at a museum for people to admire, not sitting in some watch collector’s watch box. Anything you can buy in a mall is not really a sign it’s for avid collectors imo
by the way...Graham is the most oldest wrist watches brand
all these brands are sponsors of the channel :)
Some brands I did not know
