Sir, to you and all your fellow "flying heroes" I wish to convey my deepest gratitude for all you do. Keeping folks as safe as possible, and providing the often lifesaving aid you give to our Brothers is deeply appreciated, and immeasurably respected. You wil always have my undying affection and I'm glad we are able to thank you all. You guys rock. Rip John hinds.
Get yourself along to Cronk y Voddy straight. I promise you won't regret taking this advice. I was there in 2017 and it's a mind-blowing place to watch. Enjoy. 👍
Brilliant thanks. Probably the best lap I have ever watched staying on the left. Really interesting to see the difference in speed where its safe to or otherwise. Hope you and everyone stays safe and thanks for what you all do.
Thanks for posting this ! A complete privilege to hear your (informed and knowledgeable) comments . Best wishes too .. to all of you volunteers who make this event possible. Thanks for slowly passing the horses too ! Let’s hope all bikers adopt better riding habits , if our sport/enjoyment is not to be curtailed!
Really excellent video! Great to see the course at normal(ish) speeds with informative commentry. The 'Blade sounds great!! Honda should be paying you for this as it is a superb advert for them.
Balaspur Farm was one of my favourite spots to watch. For the life of me, I can't work out why it's restricted now, it definitely wasn't at the request of the landowner. In the 25 years + I watched from there, I never saw an incident.
8:35 Weird to hear you refer to this being open "in the old days". I have sat there many times and am only 33! So many great spots have closed just in the last 10 years. Much to the TT's detriment in my opinion.
Great vid and really like the pace of seeing a lap at normal speeds so that you get to understand the complexities of each corner and appreciate how difficult it is at race pace.
Looks like you recorded this on the same weekend that I had my first visit to the island 😊 it was glorious sunshine! We rode the lap with some diversions to The Sound and Laxey. The 'blade looks good to ride. I'm still new to riding (couple of years) on my CB650R but would love to try a bike with fairings at some point. Great video, very informative too 😊
Not only do you guys ride on the oposite side of the road, you also get on the bike from the opposite side ;) Great insight, can't wait to watch it this year! Safe ride everyone!
Great video, lots of work gone into making it challenging but safe, Sulby Crossroads is where the great John Williams said that he could see Policeman wearing three hats at once due to the bumps
Great video! Can't wait for tt 2024! Being on the island the weather hasn't been the best but hopefully it will be fine for tt. I remember reenacting the tt with my toy bikes and now another year is here!
Thanks for this, very interesting, coming over for practice week,40 odd tt visits for me ,so far,we used to sit high up on the bank at the exit of Glen Helen, but if a bike lost it you would have a problem i think so common sense needed. Also remember veiwing at the bottom of Barregarrow in the late 80s (now restricted)with only the farmer and a few others only? My first TT in 78 ,an old fella, told me Keppel Gate was a great place to watch, nearly 50 years on,ive still not made it.😂
tired of these restrictions, its getting worse with nearly everything...slowly slowly stripping our right to make our own decisions. Hence the saying good ol days
Cool! Main thing I get from this is that I miss the "old school" speed limits. I left the UK in 1993 for Australia and our speed limits here are trash. I live on the island of Tasmania these days and the roads are fantastic scenery wise but the condition sucks overall. Having said that they are good enough. Maximum speed here is 100kph, 60mph. If I were to hit 140 / 160kph say 100mph I'm making the news and I'm getting my bike taken away for a few months. I ride a 2013 Fireblade and every time I go out it's a risk. There's a popular (twisty mountain) bike road outside Sydney and the limit is 60kph (40mph) and the cops are all over it its a joke.
Great video and really informative lap of the course. Looking in great condition and hopefully we have the weather in 2weeks time! Also great to hear the fireblade singing 😀
Thanks for the wonderful video and the work you do. Sad about some of the restrictions as I'm I'm the USA, and you can't do anything without restrictions and interference. I hope I'm wrong, but enjoy the TT while it lasts as I don't think it will forever. Cheers
Great video, can't wait to get over again this year, it will be my 10th year now. Friend and I are Marshalling for the first time at bray Hill so looking forward to doing our bit to help out at the TT. 😃

What happens to the road furniture at quarter bridge for example during TT week? Is it all removable? Thanks for doing a fab job and I look forward to coming to the island for 2025🤙
I love this model and paint scheme of Fire Blade, does it have enough low rpm grunt? My GSXR1000K2 and ZX10RC1 is the same with the exhaust valve which I personally like 😊 Good video thanks 👍
Proper safe lap it must be weird for you when you have raced there and not to automatically apex all the corners . Anyone going over should watch your ride and see how it's done!! Have a safe TT to all racers and spectators
Just at moderate speeds I’m looking for the vanishing point and just don’t know how they do it at TT speeds, obviously the brain recalibrates but it’s a massive test of concentration and cell power. Hope they all come home this year👍🏻
Thank you very much. I would love to go to the TT 2024 but family problems have got in the way. Can you send me a link for the live podcast for the TT 2024. As we say in Ulster keep ur lit.😀
Cant wait now under two weeks for my ferry first time on the island looking forward to it is an understatement marshalling both weeks but you guys are something else brilliant video
Dear TT safty guards , racer and tourist ...what is the lowest rpm with high-tech moped's in 6 rounds ... ...and allways hot - sunny - summer with "tropical nights" i wish this again without any raindrops 🤞☘️
Enjoyed that, Spent a lot of time trying to look over the screen or to the side of it, to see what the roads were like, Parliament square doesn't look great by the Traf, bit of a mismash of surfaces ?
Yeh it’s been like for that as long as I can remember. So many services running under that bit of road along with all the traffic light infrastructure. Fortunately it’s very slow so doesn’t cause and issue really.
The better road surface must help add to the faster lap times. I know when I'd raced it, the surface was ok for the 80's a guess, but not compared to now..
Yes MPH. Don’t read into what gears I’m in too much. I was just having a gentle ride out and the fireblade gearing is very tall compared to most sports bikes.
Depends on your requirements. Some like fast places where they fly past just feet away from you. Some like slow places where you can get a better look at the bikes. Some want food trucks and toilets, some just take a bag full of sandwiches and a radio. Each to their own.
@@tttravellingmarshals7207 Many thanks for that. I would not have thought of the radio. Otherwise, for me it's a bottle of water, big sun hat, Zumo XT2, binoculars and a map. And maybe earplugs to soften the music a bit!
8:35 Weird to hear you refer to this being open "in the old days". I have sat there many times and am only 33! So many great spots have closed just in the last 10 years, and seems to be new spots closed every year. In your experience, what's the main reason for this - is it stipulated by insurers?
I’m not privy to the what’s, where’s and why’s of which areas are restricted. Some do seem very much overkill in my opinion but on the flip side there are hundreds of amazing places you can still watch and nobody ever goes to them 🤷♂️
Great Vid. Quick question : Does anyone know what the line of crosses painted on the road approaching Creg ny Baa are? I've seen them on onboards for years and always wondered what they're for. 🤔
It’s the locations for each of the traffic cones that the DOI put out and remove before and after every session for normal road traffic. The markers on the road just make sure they’re in the right place and are spaced evenly.
Great video mate, I’m a regular marshal can’t wait to come back Quick question - what is the brand of the bag you have over the rear seat on the blade ?? Cheers would love one myself
I would have thought that the isle of man would have mostly bikers as the majority of traffic all year round.... but no. And did you hear about a case of a biker sueing WSBK due to his injuries? Hopefully that wont be a thing for the TT
@tttravellingmarshals7207 Thanks for the reply , being a tree officer myself I was worried about the potential risk of trees on the course, great video will going to the tt next year 😀
How do they stop some unsuspecting citizen from pulling the car off their drive on race day?????? or deciding to take the dog for a walk down the unusually quiet road..........?????????
All roads on the island have no speed limit once you’re in a derestricted area. Many of those roads are no more than country lanes though so excessive speed would still land you in trouble for dangerous riding
It must be mustard to open the Blade on the mountain piece of the course ,Damn always wanted to ride it back in the day stay safe nice bike !GATE13SW6CREW cfc

wow only 5 minutes in and I'm thinking about the state of the road surface in some areas and the pot holes 😱
3:30 I don’t think those that haven’t visited the IOM actually recognise, that there are no speed limits here … outside the towns.

Bit confused why your breaking the speed limit when you hit NSL signs? I normally marshall at Hillberry and love the TT. Keep up the great work.
The Isle of man's national speed limit is unrestricted.

Shit, should you not maybe think about blurring your speedo mate?! Be careful, although thanks for the info, the course looks good and can't wait 👍
Nope ! He’s competent and legal.
Some sections are unrestricted
He’s a “measured” and completely competent, safe, rider.
National speed limit there is unrestricted.
18.39 you didn't mention the retaining wall, might have a slight effect
Yeh I thought that but last year there was a recticel barrier there and the new wall has replaced that so it’s pretty much the same anyway.
Who's decision was it to remove the riders colours from the sign?!
Exellent vid

The penny drops…… No potholes….. smooth tarmac…..
That’s not proper shitty UK roads. I feel robbed.
Is there a tree inspection done each year checking for trees with potential issues on the course ?
Yep there is. Always some removed each year or at least cut back. Winter storms naturally bring down the most likely of them anyway.
