@@amandafaber9983 I really love how each of them give each other all the credit for their shared success. She refuses to let people praise her without acknowledging that he wrote everything that made her a star, he’s the reason why Pat Benetar ever was a household name; her crazy amazing voice and star quality is the reason his phenomenal work ever saw the light of day. That’s how their relationship lasted this long; the highest admiration and respect for one another, combined with their equally committed loyalty to one another ♥️ And that shines through in each and every interview they do together, they are truly the real deal ♥️
Love Pat Benetar! Please explore more from her..Fire and Ice,Love Is A Battlefield,Hit Me With Your Best Shot,Invincible,Shadows Of The Night,We Belong,Promises In The Dark,Hell Is For Children,Treat Me Right..ok I`ll stop for now but she is FIRE! Love to watch you first thing in the morning, starts my day off right! Keep On Rockin'
3 rock chicks I liked back in my hay day lol was Pat Benetar, Joan Jett, & Stevie Nicks. They all rocked & still looking badass today imo. Great gals all in their own right
Her outfit was decades ahead of her time. The leotard is a staple for female superstars today - Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, J Lo, Britney Spears and the list goes on.
JFYI,....Pat Benatar was the first woman to be played on MTV....and her song "You Better Run" was the 2nd song played on MTV as well. The first song was "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles.
Yep you will look back 20 year from now and say what the heck was I thinking lol now at the age of 61 it's happen a few times lol love your reactions!! Peace
Pat was dynamite…..Tiny but fierce!!!!! Lil Kim sampled Heartbreaker in her “Dont mess with me” track 😉 Great job Van!!!!! And it’s a Leotard 😂 gotta love the 80’s
Pat's guitarist, Neil "Spyder" Giraldo, used to work with Rick Derringer (Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo), and also wrote the iconic guitar riffs for Rick Springfield's mega hit, "Jessie's Girl". Neil and pat later became husband and wife and have played and toured together for over 40 years.
Pat is a rockin BA, 'Hell is For Children', 'Hit Me With Ya Best Shot', 'Love Is A Battlefield', 'Promises In The Dark', 'You Better Run' catalog of ... Bangers 💥💥💥
OMG. She was the sugar ice tea when this came out. Beyond that, it’s the natural talent she possesses. It’s her voice. She studied opera for years. She’s a technician, but beyond that, it’s her artistry. She’s beyond. Pat definitely gets the gold star. ⭐️ 🎤
Pat Benatar was originally trained as an opera singer, but decided to change courses and go for Rock and Roll, much to the benefit of her MILLIONS of FANS!!! ⭐️
Just one more comment I mentioned some rock chicks from this era & how could I forget Blondie. I use to rock out to Heart of Glass too. Thanks Van.✌🏼💯🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Never heard “sugar honey iced tea” but she sure as hell was! She was badass and everyone, guys and girls, loved her. She and her husband (the guitarist) are still pretty badass!
She recently performed in Dallas at age 69! I couldn't go due to temporary health stuff, but my buddy went with his wife and they sent me live video footage. She's still as fierce as ever!
Lol I just now caught that Sugar Honey Iced Tea... Dang I'm usually way quicker to catch such as this but I'll use that it's 6am as my excuse for missing it until the end duh 😂😆 lol
Hey man, it was 1979-80. The peak of the disco era. Dudes wore, what appeared to be women’s blouses, covered in sequins and rhinestones. Pink leopard print over that Sugar Honey Ice Tea, any day. 😂
The story I heard is that after playing live gigs for a while with mediocre response, Pat went on stage wearing a Halloween costume. She got such a positive response that she rolled with it. Kind of a shame that people could overlook what an amazing and powerful voice she has because they didn't like her clothes.
Man this was a two fer! You with the unitard! Lmao!! That $hit was funny my dude! But you did notice that the song was unique and these artists put their heart into it....thats pose was something !
I am so glad you are discovering one of the greatest voices in rock. She has no match as far as I'm concerned. She now opens the door for so many contemporary singers, and they owe her a hell of a debt. I grew up listening to Pat Benatar and many others of her generation back then. I was a teenager during the 80s, so I'm thankful I could experience all of this growing up. I'm so glad you are discovering what actual singing is and what true rock and roll is keep it up. Promises in the dark is another one of my all-time favorites of hers. I think it shows her vocal range probably the best.
Myron Grombacher on drums. He is a character alright. One of the best guitar outros ever too. The leotard was a look Benatar started actually. She started quite a few fashions of the 80s.
Myron Grombacher, Benatar’s drummer is a beast. I love watching him on the drums. It’s almost hypnotic. The lead guitarist is her husband Neil Giraldo. Totally underrated as a guitarist, IMO. Check out “Promises in the Dark” live 1981. “ Hell is for Children” is a must. It’s the one song they perform at every concert. They wrote this for child abused and I believe all proceeds from it go to child abuse. Benatar was also classically trained. This doesn’t show off her vocal range but Promises in the Dark does.
the guitar player is her husband...Neil Giraldo....this is one of the greatest female voices in rock as far as I am concerned. Listen to more of her stuff
Unitard!! You just cracked me up, Van! I literally laughed out loud! The way you said it!! Haha! I love watching your reactions! You are such a funny guy!
Yes Yes Yes!!! In about 9th grade, we girls all wanted to BE Pat Benatar 😊; Promises in the Dark, Hell Is For Children , Treat Me Right 🔥🔥🔥 Cut the drummer some slack, Van, it was the 80’s 😂
My very rigid mother found the handwritten lyrics in my desk evidently when I was a young teen. Mistook it for some stupid reason as a letter or poem I wrote to some guy. I literally got told in my 40s I was a loose woman as she called it & referenced the letter I wrote she read...then repeated the line..."You're the right kind of sinner to release my inner fantasy". I couldn't help but LOL and after I laughed my self silly told her. That's a Pat Benatar song and you're and idiot. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 she carried an attitude w me all those years over the lyrics to this song I wrote out. Amazingly stupid but 100% true!😂🤣😂🤣😂 . I laugh now everytime I hear that verse!
Yes!! Pat Benatar is a legend! You have to check out her cover of The Beatles Helter Skelter it's so badass and all the other great songs your other subs have already mentioned have a great day🤘💕🎼
Yo Van hi. Hey I was just curious if you've ever covered any NAZERETH . The lead singer def. has a one if a kind voice. Hair of the dog is a huge song of theirs. They have one I always liked alit called Don't Judas Me but I'm about to check the playlist to see & probly shouldve before asking but I was just curious if you knew of the band since for some reason they crossed my mind. They made tons of albums js. Thanks
Pat benatar sings rhonda rouseys entrance music . she played live at wrestlemania ! Keep up the great job ! Clothes were different back then , be safe ! 😍😍
Fun reaction. Pat was the first female artist eeeevveeeerrrrrrrrrr shown on MTV when it started. Yes Pat was the hottness of the day when this song came out. It's even mentioned in a movie. I think the movie was The Last American Virgin. Pat has a laundry list of hits. An amazing singer.
dang I danced around my house to this as a teen SO MANY TIMES lol Pat is amazing and PS I randomly realize periodically that shes NOT in the rock n roll hall of fame and I get really mad. Queen
Now you should listen to Heartbreaker by Grand Funk Failroad. Then listen to Heartbreaker by Led Zepplin. Then listen to Heartbreaker by The Rolling Stones.
Back before they hit it big, I believe this is the first single off the first record, bands didn't have money. I bet he's wearing one of Pat's tops... to look rock in a video...I'll bet.
Someone once said "IF U REMEMBER the 80s, You weren't REALLY there" Maybe the drummer partied hard, spent the night at a chicks house & didn't have a clean shirt for the show? (happened to Vince Neil, only it was pants & he wore chicks leopard leggings)
LOVE Pat Benatar, she and her guitarist husband just did an interview recently! They’re STILL together all these years later ♥️
They took time off to raise their kids, and now are touring again! Word has it that there is going to be a movie set to her music!
I saw that interview. They’re both amazing. And she’s still so beautiful with her silvery hair!

Yes! Its awesome to see someone reacting to her! Of course I'm biased since those were the first concerts I attended.... Still, cant wait to see more!
3 rock chicks I liked back in my hay day lol was Pat Benetar, Joan Jett, & Stevie Nicks. They all rocked & still looking badass today imo. Great gals all in their own right

Laura Branigan also rocks still for me. And can't forget Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart.
Debbie Harry would always make my list from the time.
Don't forget Ann Wilson from Heart. ♥️
Pat and Ann Wilson all the way!
Her outfit was decades ahead of her time. The leotard is a staple for female superstars today - Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, J Lo, Britney Spears and the list goes on.
"Promises in the Dark" is Benatar at her shredding best.
Yes definitely, really show off her vocal range.
one of my favs

Yep, Lil Kim sampled her. It’s great. Helps that Pat provided a sick sampling. One of the best voices, ever.

Love is a battlefield will always be my favorite by her! Such a strong voice on this one!
Memories of my college days !
Once you see the drummer you can’t unsee it. It’s unitarded 🤣
Pat and Joan Jett are two of the most badass women of rock!
Ah yes, Mrs. Benatar. One of my 1st crushes as a young pre-teen.
Pat Benetar’s best song- Promises in the dark
Classically trained vocalist with a specific talent for Opera ...like Mariah Careys mom.
Hell Is For Children is a must listen to

She was the sugar honey iced tea!! Pat was hot as a pistol with an amazing voice. Try Hell Is For Children next. Thanks

All 5 feet of her!!!!👌❤️😘

A Canadian rocker to check out is Alannah Myles and her song Black Velvet. :)
4 time Grammy award winner Pat Benetar doing her thing!
Just one more comment I mentioned some rock chicks from this era & how could I forget Blondie. I use to rock out to Heart of Glass too. Thanks Van.✌🏼💯🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Pat Benatar was the first female hard rock legend, IMHO. Her voice attitude, the lyrics. Check out the song You Better Run. ♥️
Never heard “sugar honey iced tea” but she sure as hell was! She was badass and everyone, guys and girls, loved her. She and her husband (the guitarist) are still pretty badass!
She is one of the Queen's of Rock. Respect.
She recently performed in Dallas at age 69! I couldn't go due to temporary health stuff, but my buddy went with his wife and they sent me live video footage. She's still as fierce as ever!
Pat Benatar was a Badass

Lol I just now caught that
Sugar

Myron Grombacher
I have seen them in concert 15x they are great and she is a very down to earth person. Much love to you and your family.
Finally!!! Van, Please react to: Fire and Ice! It will blow you away!
Man this was a two fer! You with the unitard! Lmao!! That $hit was funny my dude! But you did notice that the song was unique and these artists put their heart into it....thats pose was something !

This song is badass! 💯 You were distracted and laughing through ALOT of it! Should've stopped and got the laughs out and then done the rest! 😉
Fashions come and go and one day the clothes you wear will make people laugh as well lol. That being said, Pat kicks butt!!!!
Early 80’s ✌️, I used to wear parachute pants
There is only one word for that drummer. Showman!
Congratulations to Pat Benatar for getting into the rock roll hall of fame 2022❤
Nice reaction Van! Another hit from her was “You Better Run.” A total banger with a great video. Her best song IMO.
Pat Benatar was one of the most talented singers of the day. She was classically trained.
The Aldo Nova " Life is just a Fantasy" is a twofer video.
Also, I think her ensemble in this video is pretty amazing.

She wore leotards in the early days because they were cheap, easy to wash, and no loss if they got ruined.
You're killing me!🤣😆🤣😆
Pint size Pat Benetar! Love her!
HEY , I DID GET A KICK OUT OF THE DRUMMERS SHIRT. GREAT LAUGH.,
Now you should listen to Heartbreaker by Grand Funk Failroad. Then listen to Heartbreaker by Led Zepplin. Then listen to Heartbreaker by The Rolling Stones.
the drummer is stealing her thunder

She is wearing a leotard. A unitard is similar, but has full-length legs & long sleeves(like a women's sport burka).
The drummer Myron is an animal on his kit.
RIGHT ON
I remember being a little kid playing this on the guitar here game lol
This is the original at any rate.

George Costanza "redid" it, lol 😂
