Marko mentioned in an interview that he always had to tone down his volume when singing with other singers. When he started singing with Floor he said he could go as loud and strong as he wanted because Floor can outsing anybody. Loved the reaction.

In Ayreon where pretty much everyone is a star of their own band and only visiting the show Arjen still puts Floor always as the last one. Because it would not be fair for someone else to come in right after her. It's very hard to match her power and presence, regardless of the style of the song. Even when she's singing in child soprano sector being ultra high and cutting through you with the sheer childlike fragility, she's still overpowering others with fragility 😀

Everytime I’m amazed by Floor’s performance. At this time (Wacken) Floor was just for 10 months with the band (btw. she had to learn the setlist in 2012 in just 48 hours when she replaced Annet in 2012). All the songs Floor did at Wacken were written for Tarja or Annet.
I'm 74, discovered Nightwish with Floor 3.5 years ago. Nobody compares to this woman in the last 70 years for stage presence and a dynamic presentation. No pop stars, no country stars, no other female metal front women, etc., etc.... nobody. All her solo stuff since 2019 is off the charts also. Her 2018 rock song "While Love Died" is phenomenal also. This is my personal opinion and I have loved a lot of female singers in my life. If you don't move on from the Nightwish band for reactions, at least in your spare time, look into all her solo stuff for your own personal enjoyment.
It is a love letter to his future love that obviously is already out there, but Tuomas is yet to locate her. I feel after the band really took off, it got Tuomas worried that he would not be able to find his true love, now he is assigned this god-like status. (Nightwish is Finlands national pride. A status similar to the status the English assign to their royal family)
This song and performance is pure beauty. It´s perfect in every way. I sometimes shake my head in disbelief about what I´m experiencing through the magic of Nightwish, it´s truly soul touching and life changing. Enjoy :D
I love this song. The second half of it is like a runaway train, with the drums, and with Floor kicking up higher in the key change, impossibly high, and Marko coming in. It always makes me a little emotional, because I know I'm hearing something impossibly beautiful. The second half of Nemo sung by Floor here at Wacken gets me every time too. My favorite is probably still Storytime, but Ever Dream is right, right there.
The drummer Jukka really play with his whole body. He`s a great showman too. Just watch the song: Nightwish - Nemo (Wacken 2013) from this show. Every time he have a second of spare time, he`s spinning his drumsticks😄(He`s doing it so fast you have to pay attention to see it). He`s amazing!

This is the song from the Tarja era. The time when Nightwish used to be a straight forward power metal in a symphonic way. When they released their album called ONCE in 2004 they drastically changed their musical direction and every song in that album are totally different. Since then when they release a new album it's way different than the previous records so you cannot compare it easily. They still do that today. Some NW fans are not happy with that but the majority gave them a thumbs up and I'm one of them.
Floor has said that this is one of the more challenging songs for her to sing. A Tarja era song from the 4th album, Century Child in 2002.
Jukka was awesome. You do know he is no longer performing with them? This was his last tour. He had to step aside from performing in 2014 due to health issues caused by severe insomnia, but remains with the band in management.. Jukka called his friend, Kai Hahto from Wintersun to take over.
To see a song written for Floor and with Kai, try Yours is an Empty Hope or Elan from the Wembley 2015 show.

This song is only challenging because the Goddess chose to belt those notes which were sung in head voice in the original. If she had decided to use her head voice instead, it wouldn't have been a problem at all.
Floor has gorgeous head voice, which she doesn't use very often these days, unfortunately. She did a cover of "She is My Sin" when she still was with After Forever and sang it in fully operatic style. But at this concert, she chose to belt it again - though in this case it's not exactly the same notes as the original, it's one whole step lower.
As to the famous Nightwish sing-along... I'll keep silent on this one because I don't want to be torn apart by the Army.😂

After many years of listening to Nightwish, I finally settled on Everdream as my favorite song. Something about how it builds to a crescendo with Floor going up a key and Jukka hitting the double bass like an Olympic sprinter with lightning striking behind them. You have to catch your breath after watching this. The only song of theirs that builds more tension is '7 Days to the Wolves'. Much love 🤗

The nightwish's guitar solo isn't a solo for an individual show. It's an extension of the song to rely 2 parts, bringing something more special than a classic solo show.

He left the band in 2015 due to.chronic, severe insomnia. He remains the CEO of Nightwish, Inc. So soon, you'll see a different drummer...Jukka's friend and mentor, Kai Hahto. Kai is a phenomenal, ambidextrous technician on the kit! Not flashy, but watch him...he's very impressive!

One of the things I really love about Nightwish in general and Tuomas specifically is you'll be listening to one works and you're thinking, "This song can't get better it has all the right elements, then something gets added that you didn't realize was missing until it's added".

I love Jukka also. I could spend the whole song watching him, and I'm an old lady! They all are great. Wait for "Song of Myself". That has settled into my favorite of all I think.
This song, for me, is Tuomas' version of an '80s love ballad. Because I have never heard a song more accurately describe the feeling of being in love with someone, yet the other person has yet to return that love.
And I say that because of the bridge. I've never heard a drummer and a singer duet the way Floor and Jukka does, with his frantic drumming and her desperate vocals -- yet it works so beautifully.
And I'm not sure of there is a live recording anywhere, but the song Slow Love Slow is a very jazzy, improv-style love song. I also think you two should watch the Nightwish documentary about how Floor joined Nightwish back in 2012, called "Please Learn The Setlist In 48 Hours." The other live show you could do is to react to Ghost Love Score from Buenos Aires 2012, to hear how Floor's first true performance of GLS, and to hear how the fans in Argentina reacted to it.
By the way, Jukka is my favorite drummer too! I honestly miss the "Pirate" of Nightwish, and I hope he is able to return at some point to his kit.

Jukka is an amazing drummer....just hope one of these days the doctor's will give him the okay to play the drums again. I understand insomnia, from a different problem, as I have severe obstructive sleep apnea. I was getting less than 20 minutes of REM Sleep in 8 hours. I was hallucinating during the day, and I hard a difficult time functioning. I have a Bipap machine that helps me breath at night, and I get a good nights sleep every night.
Oh..."Ever Dream" is one of my favorite Nightwish songs....of all time! I think it's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
Ladies, you put all the remarkable aspects together: Floor's first huge show in front of 82.000 people (after this Show she gets a full band member!), Jukkas drumming, the whole band Joy after the big problems while their US-tour in 2012 (watch to the doku "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours", when Floor first meets the band), Markos singing - all these things will never Happen again. He left the band in 2020. Wacken 2013 was the best show they ever played Together in this constellation. I Wish I had been there... All further shows (Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Buenos Aires 2018) without the drummer Jukka Nevalainen, replaced by Kai Hahto and the actual shows without Marko Hietala, replaced by Jukka Koskinen didn't have the magic flair of Wacken. But tll the following shows had musically 'jewels' f.i. The Poet and the pendulum (Wembley), Sleeping sun, The greatest Show on earth (Tampere), Dead Boys poem, I want my tears Back (Buenos Aires). I am Sure, your will react to all this stuff.
Ah, b.t.w. Wacken is a very small village in the very north of Germany. Since 1981 ther is the worlds greatest Heavy Metal Festival every year. But I think, your have known this...😜
Floor is a modern day Valkyrie and this song had a perfect buildup to the finish. I love being part of the Nightwish Army and this song further establishes it.

Floor starts as ‘a small snowball on the mountainside’ , gets bigger as she rolls along and the song ends as a a full blown avalanche. Marko, Emppu Tuomas and Jukka add to the overall earth shaking experience.

" Ever Dream " is the sixth single by Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. Released as the first single from the band's fourth studio album, Century Child, it was the group's first single in two years, following " Deep Silent Complete " in 2000.
The song is more operatic in nature than later works and the music itself is more on the heavy metal side. It is still played live since 2002 until today. "Ever Dream" was certified with Gold Disc in Finland two days after its release, with more than 5,000 copies sold, and later received Platinum Disc with more than 10,000 copies sold.

There are so many Nightwish songs that Floor made her own as she does not have the limited vocal ability of the previous two singers although many older fans cannot accept her versatilty. for a lot it isn't about Floor's ability just that the songs sound totally different from what they were. It starts with the key they perform the song in, the vocal stylings...and goes from there. It is jarring. I love Floor and I think the band has progressed immensely but I can understand why some don't like the changes that were made particularly when you have been listening to songs for 10+years. For me we have the best of all worlds as there are original albums and concerts with Tarja and now Floor is moving the band forwards in a positive way. I just hope that Tuomas is true to his word and the next album is a return to a more metal sound than the last one as it was seeming like he was turning Nightwish into Auri which is not right for Nightwish.
On Beste Zangers I would just do the whole episodes as I think they would get a kick out of all the singers.

@@mnewm21 To me it sounds like Floor perfected the old songs and made some of them even better than they actually are. But I'm not an OG fan. I missed all the drama - maybe for the better :) - and I also love Floor, so I would listen to her sing almost anything.

The latest album is an insult both to the old fans and to herself as a singer, and I'm pretty sure that even "EFMB" subverted the expectations of many, who had been hoping for something truly epic since she joined. But this pop-metal/pop-folk/pop-opera sound is more appealing to a broader audience which, combined with Floor's increased popularity due to the TV shows and the views during the lockdown, means that Nightwish are now more popular than ever.
Regarding the next album - yes, there are rumours circulating that it will be "more metal", but it doesn't mean much yet. It might even include some growls by Jukka, just to throw a bone to the OG fans and remind them that Nightwish is still "trve kvlt", to use the proper black metal expression. :) But it's pretty much confirmed that it will be the same "Darwinism/Mother Nature/Gaia good/Man bad" main theme, which is really getting old at this point.

I liked the album but was it really Nightwish? I have no problem with the theme, science is just as valid a topic as any other but if he had a whole half of the album was classical maybe he should have balanced it with a harder edged sound?
I will be interested to see what the songs are about as they did Darwin to death in the first, then life to death in the second ;) Maybe the focus will be more on human achievement in the third? we will see...

If you want to hit the most emotional song you need to go to Poet and The Pendulum BUT read the backstory and use the video with the subtitles for lyrics. Truly a triumph
I would suggest they wait awhile longer until they get more of a feel of the band. They are still getting to know Tuomas. For another very emotional one, maybe the Buenos Aires version of Dead Boys Poem, would be an easier start.

I agree that you need to know the backstory to have a chance to understand the lyrics, but personally, i think it`s much better to watch it without study anything beforehand.
It`s a masterpiece that i think it`s best listening to, without having to concentrating on everything.
Let the song and the music take you for a ride and then go back to study the lyrics,history and meaning afterwards.
Concentrating on trying to pick up every little detail, ruins the "flow" of the first listen for me.

This band and lady never misses, and you will be amazed the next song too. They have so many sounds, but all songs great in their own way.
This is sortakinda love song, but like so many Nightwish songs, it's about a love that never came to be.
The protagonist was once so deeply in love with someone who didn't share the feeling that they still entertain the hope that the other party would even just once, ever, dream of them. "You made such a lasting emotional memory for me, was it ever even one percent mutual?"
That's why Jukka was one of my favorite drummers ever. I love drums and really tried to learn, but I could never get my hands and feet to work independent of each other, if I'm saying that right.
For Jukka, (or all drummers) to have that steady double base kick going while arms are doing something completely different alway amazes me. Or just anytime the hands & feet are doing something different period 👍👍👍👍
Floor is reminding me a little bit of Amy Lee here. Great song and performance! Great lighting on that stage! The photographer in notices lighting. And yes, the foot action on the drums! I’ve never seen anything quite like that! That is some serious aerobic exercise!
You ladies have so much more to hear from Marko and the rest of the band. Some songs are much softer and even a little Celtic folk style. I think Mom would love some of Floor's new solo stuff. She is releasing her first solo record in March of 2023. Check out her 3 single releases, "Fire", "Storm", & "Me Without You". All great songs with a much softer pop style.

Great reaction ! I have never witnessed such a powerful singer on a pop/rockstage. Floor is overwhelming, her presence, her voice, almost incomprehensible. How under appreciated she is compared to all the so called "great pop stars".... credit of course to the band as well, amazing musicians.
Marko is pretty much the grandfather of Finnish metal. Even when he's asking audience to clap and then saying thanks he's an epithome of metal 😀. There's no pleading, "hey, this would be good place to clap" and the audience is right on it.

Great reaction girls, since you are new to Nightwish I think you should know that Floor was diagnosed with breast cancer in the month of November but she already had surgery and is recovering little by little mainly emotionally, but she has already returned to the shows on the European tour, in january she will undergo radiotherapy and God willing she will be 100%, hugs from Brazil.

Guys, you just HAVE to check "The Greatest Show on Earth"(Live at Tampere) and "The Poet and The Pendulum" (Live at Wembley 2015). These are amongst the most cherished and loved Nightwish songs and for a good reason. I guarantee you will be completely blown away. She's going to be heart broken when you get to reactions without Jukka. He suffers from extreme insomnia and had to step down as the drummer. He still handles the day-to-day affairs of the band. The new drummer Kai Hahto is also an incredible drummer.
