That's some seriously messed up ownership/management - if you think Mike Vrabel is your problem, you've got much bigger problems.

I feel like the only thing that makes sense to me is if it was true Vrabel was open to other jobs that came available - then it would make sense to part ways with someone who is open to or even prefers to not be there.

Firing Mike Vrabel was the biggest of several big mistakes Titans ownership has made in the last 2 years. It started with trading AJ Brown, their only offensive weapon aside from Henry.

Just a shithole poverty franchise returning to what it is used to what its good at. They got insanely lucky finding Vrabel in the first place... now they are basically guaranteed to go 2 decades until they stumble into some other poor sap that will make them reasonably good only to be fired due to the front offices incompetence.
Only way that cycle brakes is if Amy Adams sells the franchise, and that ain't happening.

Bill Bellichick (B) walks into Robert Kraft’s (K) office after Vrabel is fired. Here’s how it goes:

B: Not much. But I think I’m on to Cincinnati.

No disrespect to Mike but if you're not going to blow it up and start over why wouldn't you go after the best OC you can find and a good GM. Trade up or stand pat. Just like all the prognosticators who have never watched a Titans game or really follow the team. The Titans have looked horrible for 2 years now. The main thing is not just the players it is the plays that were called. 3rd and long what do we do? Screen pass 8 yards short of the marker for 2 years. We never tried to throw past the first down markers. We have had people to catch the ball, superstars no, but this is the NFL our receivers can catch a 15 yard pass. And all the super predictable 1st down runs to Henry. Me and even my wife always knew run run run. Our coaching is straight up trash. Vrabel was going to keep going with the ground and pound philosophy he would not change. Now that we have maybe a future franchise QB we need someone who knows how to develop a QB and develop game plans to our teams strength . Not doing the same things over and over again and not trying to be innovative. We need to modernize here in TN and Vrabel didn't want that, and would not fire bad coaches or embrace analytics. Ran drafted us great players this year and got our analytics going, just look at the go for 2 against Miami a analytical call . Amy Adams is a great owner and made a bold correct call to help modernize the Tennessee Titans.

Post Roony rule it is difficult to target a coach and good head coaches I assume have a contract where they are either the head coach or fired, they cannot be moved to team consultant show up if you choose positions, obviously targeted Gruden may have created the rule. About the only case would be retirement with a lot of years left on the contract, the owner pays the contract and the guy has some type of title, 2 years later is the 1st choice for a team looking for a coach.
