Gotta change on my 4runner can't find anything on 4th gens online so this was pretty helpful 🙂
Thank you for watching! Glad the video helped!
I just replaced all the body mounts on my 04 silverado I used the Dorman Body mounts, they are a little tight in the holes and you have to play around with them to get them to set well but overall good mounts very close to the oem mounts. Your video was helpful for me to change mine out. I had knocking noises at low speed and this was the problem.
Glad to hear you got the job done and the video helped you out!
Can you provide the link or the source where you got the doorman mounts please
@@louieworld2537 I ordered mine from Rockauto.com that is the cheapest place I could find them. There are different part numbers for the front radiator area the mid cab and back of cab. If yours is extended cab or crew cab will take 8 total mine is a regular cab so replaced 6. You can also look up the parts on Dorman.com. Hope this helps.
Does your vehicle ride smoother?
@@RWarrior777 Didn't really affect that any, mainly got rid of popping and cracking noises from when driving in dips, around curves, hitting bumps, etc.
My dude. Be proud. That’s ancient forms of leverage. Who cares if it looks unsafe. If everything is blocked off, do it.
Thanks for watching!
I put new polyurethane body mounts in yesterday because it was popping a lot when I would turn. It turns out the truck had only 2 bolts holding my cab on and it was the 2 radiator bolts. The other six bolts holding the cab on were gone and the bushings were junk. I wish I could say that it took the vibration away but it didn't.
Wow that's dangerous, good thing you caught it. Look into the hydraulic mounts from GM, they help.
That shake can also come from worn out leaf springs bushings.
Thanks for the tip!
Good tutorial & the narrating is pleasant. Hopefully, my '94 Astro will get new mounts before winter.
Thanks for watching!
This was helpful. Very clear narration. Thanks!
Glad the video helped you!
On some vehicles they can be a pain to replaced the rear body mount bushings on my 2004 Buick Lesabre, some reason the rear body mount bushings on my Buick are a dealers item not the same for the fronts.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Not the same series of truck , but I have to ask this question..I've had this 92 Silverado here on the farm since new, and recently all 3 of the passengers side cab mounts went through the frame brackets. Sooooo after some internet research, ordered the Energy Suspension Polyurethane bushing set. Original style from Dorman seemed just too expensive. Luckily all the bolts came out without breaking. But they had some rust on the shanks so Fastenal had some similar bolts available, along with some 2" hole washers I thought I might need. The bottom washers and top stem washers all cleaned up nicely. After mulling over the situation, I made up some new brackets to slip over the rear and center ones. Right front bracket had to be removed and fixed, looks like a washer will suffice on the left side. Once I got the new brackets welded in place, and the bushings and stem washer cleaned up and reinstalled, the cab sits about 1/4" higher than the box. Now I haven't torqued the bolts in yet, this is just from the weight of the cab sitting on the bushings. I know 1/8" of this extra height is from the new brackets placed on top of the old ones, but I'm guessing the additonal height is from the stiffer urethane bushings, compared to the OE rubber ones? Should I sand down 3/16"-1/4" off the top of the bushings to get them more in line to where they might be with OE bushings, or just leave it and hope with torquing down the bolts and settling, they will settle into place. Also torque on those body mount bolts..about 45 ft/lbs? of course with some blue locktite on the thread. I plan on keeping the truck around here for a long time yet. Thanks
I would torque them down and drive the truck. Might need to let them compress a little.
@@AnthonyJ350 Thanks for the reply. So about 45-50 ft lbs?
@@Redlinesixtynine You'll have to read the service manual like Haynes to figure out the torque specs
just for reference, the front is 30ft lbs, and the cab bolts torque to 70 ft lbs. Start with the front, then do the back ones, then do those in between.
@@Redlinesixtynine Thank you for sharing this!
at 12:32 ..I was going to suggest right before you said that your were going to touch with rust inhibitor and/or paint.... Might as well hit them while you're there.. Nice work!
Thanks! Hopefully it helps people with older trucks and people with frame vehicles in general.
Good details in the video , i was looking for the ride differs old to new i have 02 s10 pickup i feel every little bump.would it make a difference
If you want a smoother ride, put in OEM rubber.
Where can I buy all the hardware for those body mounts mine are gone
Local auto parts store that sells aftermarket.
Hi, I was wondering what the part number was for the Washer Plates.
Can't remember the part number but you can probably find it on lmctruck.com.
How was the ride after?
Rob Bekesi Better, little rough on small bumps but I was expecting that.
hi, i am looking for the metal parts that the bushing slides into. the one that you can see at 11:00. i called the dealer and they can't find it, i've tried to look up on LMC Truck but didn't had any luck neither. could someone give me the OEM part number would be MUCH appreciated !!! thanks
I messed one of mine up too...ill be heading to the junkyard to grab one because you cant find them. Pretty sure its called a body mount bushing retainer. They are very similar in jeep applications to the chevy
LMC Truck might have it, they have detailed pictures in their catalogs.
Any idea on a part number for the oval shaped metal alignment sleeves that go inside the cab bushings? I noticed that you reused your but mine are rusted beyond use. I already bought urethane bushing and I cant find replacements for the metal sleeves anywhere. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I think LMC Truck carries them and has detailed pictures to help you figure out which part you need.
Does anyone know what those plates are called that you use when your frame Mount holes are elongated.. when you buy the Dorman bushing they come with it but I'm trying to get those separately
Body mount plates? Check out www.lmctruck.com
Polyurethane bushing are terrible and your ride quality is going to be terrible too. Definitely recommend getting the original body mounts . U will feel every damn bump in the road with poly bushing
You get more feedback from the road. I wouldn't say horrible though.
My truck has the one piece rear drive shaft. I wonder if that's what causes the vibration in frame.
My truck originally came with a 2 piece driveshaft. I switched to a one piece and that solved a lot of my vibration issue since I removed the carrier bearing.
Unbalanced tires?
Will these part numbers work on a 01 2500hd ext cab?.
They should since the cabs look similar. I would cross reference factory part number on the two different chassis on Rockauto.com. If it's the same factory part numbers, these parts should work.
Torc converter is going out
What are you referring to?
If you're looking for the parts you can find them here:

Would those mounts fit a 2010model?
Most likely. The frames are very similar and the rear mounts in the video are from the GMT900 platform.
How’s does it ride ?
Rides good, you get more "road feedback" but after putting some mileage on it's relatively smooth. Also depends on your shocks and tires for road quality.
What's the Torque specs.
You'll want to pick up a service manual like Haynes and check there. It has all the specs for torque and capacities.
Hi, do you know the name and where to get that part you took off the old bushing and put the new bushing on ? Thanks
Which part of the video?
@@AnthonyJ350 the 12:10 part for the upper bushing
@@joeyziegler391 LMC Truck would have it. They have a super detailed online catalog for almost anything you want.
@@AnthonyJ350 alright thanks I'll check that, I know i have a maginze from them but didnt see anything
@@joeyziegler391 Ya they're awesome for figuring out replacement parts and aftermarket.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
How long did it take you??
FireExpress I think it took me 5 hours while filming this video.
Is that GM part number correct? I think it should only have 2 8s
You are correct, sorry about that. I just changed it.
I have the vibration in my Silverado as well although it is a Regular Cab with a Long bed. I thought the vibration was a exhaust issue. So its the mounts eh?
Samuel Feguer For my problem it was because my mounts were blown. There's a tsb suggesting to use the hydraulic mounts on the larger cabs. What's your issue exactly?
AnthonyJ350 around 45 to 50 mph I get a deep vibration
Samuel Feguer Does your truck have an aluminum or steel driveshaft?
Video review please!
Going to make one soon.
The lower mounts rot out faster then the upper ones
Thanks for sharing!
Where did you get the rear hydraulic cab mounts
Javier Trujillo Chevy dealership
AnthonyJ350 do you like them how do they feel ? Also from what trucks do those cab bushings come from
Javier Trujillo With the urethane bushings you definitely notice the road. It gets a little smoother after break in. The hydraulic mounts definitely help. They're off the newer trucks, I believe they started us8ng them in 2008
AnthonyJ350 good stuff I’m getting me a pair of them hydraulic cab mounts and the rest oem I have the energy suspension polyurethane ones and it rides horrible
Javier Trujillo That's too bad to hear about the ride. How old are the shocks on the truck?
Nice video bro.
Thanks!
i just did mine, with the energy kit and body lines still dont line up. anyone have any suggestions?
Is it too low or high. If it's too low you can shim it.
AnthonyJ350 , my cab is lower than my bed, and shim it using what?

Worst mechanic RUclipsr I’ve ever seen wtf
Thanks for the feedback!
Lol on the real world as you say NO One has a lift lol so everyone will be using a jack and small 4x4 wood to set the cab down on to support the cab while replacing the mounts
I have a lift now! But it's a 4 post and won't help with this job lol.
good job but less blab next time tks
