Counting the tackles he broke against the Saints was cut to quickly as the crowd noise was so loud that run became known as The BEASTQUAKE as it set off the Seismic Graph determining their was an Earthquake at Century Link Field.
Apocryphal story. Dont be a douche. Seismographs detect a wide range of vibrations,no earthquake detection was credibly reported by any earthquake monitoring station. Just chill.
They're called power backs. Some famous ones are Jim Brown, Earl Campbell, Eddie George, Jerome Bettis, Christian Okoye, Larry Csonka, and John Riggins. Then going really old school, Bronko Nagurski
Derrick Henry Walter Peyton Mike Alstot are a few others and hell I know he isn't a running back but Big Ben you could also throw in Jamala Lewis Ricky Williams and really I could go on all day hell L.T. the running back had more power than people remember you don't have all those T.D.s without it or Shawn Alexarder pocket Hercules M.j.D
He is a great personality. He was put in mutiple scenarios, some for the Seahawks and some for his own online show, that are just fun with him interacting. He is just a genuine guy. He is also currently on a reality show about being on Mars with celebrities.
The play were Lynch broke 7 tackles the "get off me" play has a name - "Beast Quake". The crowd went so wild (and the rest of the Seattle area too) that seismic readings registered an actual earthquake.
You’re so right about vision.... as a running back, thats probably the most important ability to have as a running... understanding your assignments on any particular play...then having the vision to see the holes opening up behind your offensive line
@4:02 Funny you should mention a rugby maul. During that season, to help improve defense and overall play, they asked a rugby player from New Zealand to come over and teach them rugby tackling and styles of running. Not only did he teach that, but he also taught a modified mauling technique. Because you cannot bind on in American Football, he taught them how to bunch up a number of teammates around Lynch when he made first contact with the defense and help shove it out of the way to grab an extra five yards or so as they could. I noticed the same thing the first time I saw it. I loved it.
Mike Alstott who played for Tampa Bay in the late 90's into the early 2000's was similar. He'd have four guys hanging off his back and still get 10 more yds.
HI. I new to your channel but i saw "Marshawn Lynch" and I had to "click"! I live in Seattle and I'm a die hard Seahawk fan. #24 was/ is a legend here. "GET OFF ME" Became the most crazy popular saying to EVER be connected to any sport back then and it still is to this day! Steve Raible was the Sportscaster who made that legendary call! He was a Wide Receiver for the Hawks from the very first game in 1976 until 1981. Those words were on bumper stickers, t- shirts, license plates. One loyal fan had that Air-brushed on his gorgeous blue and green pick-up truck! It was EVERYWHERE! Do you know why 24 was given the name "Beast Mode"? The fans are called "The 12th man" because THAT'S how important we are to the team. We're the loudest and the proudest fans of ANY OTHER NFL TEAM! We rocked the Richter Scale! In the 2011 play-off game against the Saints, Lynch broke 9 tacklels on a 67 yard touchdown run! We stomped and clapped and yelled SO LOUD AND HARD that the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network detected a .1-2 tremor at 4:43 p.m on the Richter scale.... that was exact time when Beastmode/BeastQuake made that epic touchdown! Oh those were the glory days. But now? This season? Oh do we have an exciting team to work for us! I can't wait!
I wouldn't put Lynch in the top runningbacks of all time but he was really good. He played for the Bill's and the Seahawks. As for anyone else like this? Maybe Derrick Henry. Please do Troy Polamalu. He was a safety (defense).
Been a Seattle Fan for man years. In the days of Beast Mode and the Legion of Boom (looked it for some good defensive action) we all road high. Marshawn was, and still is, a hero of Seattle Football. Great to watch you discover Beast Mode. Cheers!
In the Saints run, at about 10:12 you see most of the Seahawks offensive linemen within 5 yards of Lynch, and Tyler Polumbus (number 78) leads Lynch into the endzone. Polumbus is 6' 8" (2.03m) and 308 lbs (139.7 kg). The offensive line works so hard for him because Lynch works so hard on the field.
Most running backs are very quick and some have great top end speed, but you have to remember that defensive backs have blazing speed since they have to cover the wide receivers.....who are typically some of the fastest athletes in team sports. This is why running backs are sometimes caught from behind.
Barry Sanders is my all time favorite player, and I would argue the greatest running back; yet I confidently say that the BeastQuake (at 9:56) is *the* greatest run in NFL history.
Lynch was draftedby the Buffalo Bills, was traded to the Seattle Seahawks and spent the bulk of his career there, spent a couple years with the Oakland Raiders (his hometown team which has since moved to Las Vegas), and came out of retirement to play a few more games with the Seahawks. He hasn't ruled out another comeback if the circumstances are right. He is known as a great player, but also a great personality. He has been in many commercials and in a video for the rapper Maclemore (Marmalade). You might want to check out Russell Wilson's highlights. He's the quarterback you saw scrambling around.
These clips you're seeing of him with the Seahawks, is also at the same time when we had the baddes the toughest and most talented defense IN THE LEAGUE! Marshawn was "Beastmode " and our D-line was called "The Legion Of Boom"! Nobody could get past those 5-6 guys EVER! That's what took us to the 2013 Superbowl where we cleaned house on the Denver Broncos wirth a score of 43-8!!! If was otherworldly.
You went from the flashiest running back ever to probably the most violent. Marshawn Lynch was an animal on the field and the best sort of character (as in he has a very colorful personality) off of it.
As some have already commented, I would recommend checking out Bo Jackson call. Arguably the most freakish athlete who ever lived! And another old school running back to check out is Mike Alstott! He was very much a throwback kind of player. Just a total battering ram with the football!
Marshawn is a really cool dude too. if you watch....his Touchdown "dance" is to shake the hands of his linemen. the men in the trenches who block for him.
You should watch some highlights of William “Refrigerator” Perry. He was a defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles ‘85-‘95. He is one of the most highly regarded players at his position and a mountain of a man.
If you enjoy the strong and tough running style, check out a video titled "Best Power Backs Highlights in NFL History", which goes through player by player and shows the power running style that they all possessed that made them the best in NFL History. Would HIGHLY recommend seeing that you enjoyed this video so much. P.S. Marshawn Lynch is my favorite player of all time, made me happy seeing you react to his amazing highlights.
It’s not that he runs out of steam, rather his vision - why get hit if you don’t have to. He played for Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders.
Beast mode is 1 of a kind. I dont remember seeing anyone else break 10 tackles in 1 play ever. Them Saints probably wanted to commit suicide after that play on them.
Check out Lawrence Taylor. He's one of, if not the most, dominant and intimidating defensive players in NFL history. There are lots of LT videos out there to review, but watch the first 45 seconds or so of this one first; it's got a bunch of audio from him on the field and it shows you the intensity he played with. ruclips.net/video/oWB9ia_ZPjk/видео.html You could also do a full reaction to that video if you want. It doesn't go into his backstory much so you'll miss out on lore, but it does have a bunch of clips of him messing people up.
Lynch is probably going to make it into the Hall of Fame, but I don’t think many would put him in the argument for best ever. The top three are generally agreed to be Barry Sanders, Walter Payton AKA Sweetness and Jim Brown. Brown is the closest of the three to Lynch’s running style, but he played in the 60s so there aren’t a lot of good clips. If you love his running style, you need to look up Mike Alstott. He plays fullback, which is like a running back trying to imitate an actual bulldozer.
@@titleloanman Lynch has been first team all-pro only once in his career and only has 6 1000 rushing yards seasons. He's never sniffed an MVP. He isn't even close, and if he gets in, the institution is worthless.

Great list but don't forget Adrian Peterson

Walter Payton, RIP. small but toughest SOB ever.
I mean at 5'10 200lbs in the 70s and 80s, Payton wasnt exactly a little guy, but yea, toughest MF the league has ever seen.
Yes lawd #sweetness
Adrian Peterson. He’s got it all. Vision, speed, power, agility. One man offense in his prime.

Marshawn had some MEGA monster runs with the Raiders. Its a damn shame the NFL didnt put any on this highlight clip

Barry ran like silk
Marshawn ran like concrete
These reactions are something man 👍🏽. I have a friend who is in Boston right now, and he introduced me to this channel.
I doubt someone from the UK is going to know where Boston is...
@@andrewps339 that’s true. I don’t know what was I thinking...

Correction, it caused a "BeastQuake" lolol.
love that comment on vision. 100% correct as I was RB and that is so important. just understanding the drift of the D and all that

I know them as Miracle Bo and A-Train Alstott and I love seeing people learn about them and seeing highlights.
Gotta watch Devin Hester. Greatest return man ever. Windy City Flyer!!!
Marshawn is a really cool dude too.
if you watch....his Touchdown "dance" is to shake the hands of his linemen. the men in the trenches who block for him.
Great combination of power, speed, vision, and balance. Not a large back (5’11” 215 lbs) but incredible determination.
Walter payton ran like this
That run at 9:56 is known as the Beastquake, a pretty fitting name if you ask me.
Do Derrick "King" Henry next. You think the Beast is hard to take down? Wait til you see this guy
I call King Henry "The Business Decision).
Have to watch derrick henry, man has the same style of running right at you
If you think MarShawn is hard to tackle watch Earl Campbell. He is a hall of fame running back one of the greatest ever.
Lynch and Derek Henry are probably the biggest bangers in the modern game.
i really wanna congradulate anybody who did tackle him by themselves
You should watch some highlights of William “Refrigerator” Perry. He was a defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles ‘85-‘95. He is one of the most highly regarded players at his position and a mountain of a man.
I'm just tuning in, and I think everyone had awesome suggestions for you. But also check out Adrian Peterson highlights as well!

Derek Henry
I always enjoyed Chuck Foreman of the old Vikings team.

It’s not that he runs out of steam, rather his vision - why get hit if you don’t have to. He played for Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders.

notice he always falls forward. That means an extra 2 yards on any carry. Huge in a US football game.
Just discovered you. Wish you kept making these :(
Adrian Petersen....!!! Next.
Check out Mike Alstott. One of the last great fullback. More of a short yardage player, but scary.
An old power runner to watch is Earl Campbell.
"A Banger" YES HE WAS!!😅😅
Check out legion of Boom. Seattle Seahawks had a great defensive era
@3:00 I'm thinking "you ain't seen nothing yet."
He took us to the super bowl 49
Ridiculous that they didn't put the Beastquake as the finale of that video.
You gotta watch Devin Hester he was a kick returner a kick returner is someone who runs or returns the ball pass the other team
The run at 9:57 is known as the beast quake run
Beast mode is 1 of a kind. I dont remember seeing anyone else break 10 tackles in 1 play ever. Them Saints probably wanted to commit suicide after that play on them.
Lynch is where "beast mode" cane from
After RB Eddie Lacy packed on a ton of weight getting totally out of shape, fans started calling him "Feast Mode" lmao that's got to suck
I think as rugby player you would really enjoy watching Troy pallomalu
Look at Deion sanders he did it all best corner of all time one of the best punt returners of time and he played wide receiver…watch him
