    Great info - Thanks. Your comments illustrate how complex driving law can be across wider Europe and here in the UK. So many regional variations are too much for any sane person to absorb. If you detailed all of them, this would be 30 day video - Not 30 minutes! 🤓

    Just subscribed Thanks after stumbling across. I am looking at buying a motorhome and seen some of your videos. Real great help. I live on my own with my small dog. I, when I have been looking, I have taken my brother for a second option. Looking at the price of good second hand to new, I will most likely buy new for just a bit more. I wear hearing aids due to long term noise exposure, plus hereditary. These hearing aids one can answer the phone, and general use of Bluetooth through them.

    Hi excellent information, just an update we live in Spain and the warning triangle is not sufficient anymore! You need a flashing beacon to use if you break down!! Great in a car as they are magnetic but our motorhome is 3.4 MTRS high and GRP! We have one just incase we get stopped. They are around 20euros so cheeper than the fine?

    • @MotorhomeMatt
      @MotorhomeMatt  Год назад

      Yes, very true!! We have mentioned this in more recent episodes and even stock them in our shop because I believe they are a much better alternative to the warning triangle - www.thatleisureshop.com/led-v16-emergency-beacon/

    Thanks for great content, as always. Regarding the Country Vehicle Identifying stickers (UK stickers), I have a question. I live in Northern Ireland (UK), have a motorhome registered in Northern Ireland but have an Irish passport (and will be travelling to France from Dublin). Do I need a UK sticker or an Ireland sticker on the rear of my Motorhome or can I have either? Thanks

    • @MotorhomeMatt
      @MotorhomeMatt  День назад

      Thanks for the kind words! I assume the motorhome has UK plates if registered with DVLA? If so you’d need a UK sticker on the rear. Thanks again

    Great advice, my thoughts on smart motorways is that they should be scrapped , far too dangerous, seen to many near miss incidents..

    I’ve seen at a checkpoint, people in towed caravans on a motorway, yes, cooking in a motorhome whilst in motion, sleeping on the rear fixed bed. Worst is the tyres, oh they’ve only done 2000 miles in 2 yrs, but stood idle for 80 weeks out of those 2 yrs, once had a motorhome with a puncture, didn’t have the right side socket, so hadn’t checked the spare either, both were perished, learnt how expensive recovery was, and 2 new tyres. Caravans where drivers believe their car socket will fit their caravan, different size and depth.
    I used to carry an extending wheel wrench with 4 different size heads, and one 13 extra long. We weren’t supposed to carry and assist motorists. Don’t mention recovery, believing their bank account breakdown would cover their motorhome

    I past my driving test 2005 wot is the weight i can drive so say 3500 but if i get in it then the weight is higher if my partner get in then its even heavyer im con fused on weight can eny one tell me in the uk thanks

    • @MotorhomeMatt
      @MotorhomeMatt  Год назад +1

      I assume you have a uk licence. Passing your test after 1997 allows you to drive a vehicle weight up to 3500kg gross. Most motorhomes or cars weigh less than this. The difference is your payload. Watch the episode on payload for a detailed explanation.

      I did look at these but our supplier was quite costly. It might be something we get next year. Check out the alternative the V16 beacon. We have these. They will be a legal requirement in Spain in Jan 2026 and I predict other countries will follow suit
