Really useful vlog - thanks Matt. Comprehensive and very clear. Hadn’t come across the ETIAS requirement before - so very grateful for this. But on checking the website, it’s not necessary to get one till 2024, rather than mid-2023 as you state. Sounds easy enough to register for one when it is required. Thanks again.
Have tried to get a copy of your checklist emailed to me. Got as far as site saying it’s on the way and will be with you in a few mins but that was a few hours ago and still nothing. Please help as it shouldn’t be this difficult to get hold of Thanks Kim
No you’re right it should be easy and normally is. It might be it’s gone to your junk folder? It arrived as a pdf attached to the email address you submit. If you want to email us I can organise sending it to you manually. Send a message to team@thatleisureshop.com and ask for me to do this so the team know what to sort out! Thanks for commenting
Hi Matt The ETIAS website say it starts from mid 2025 - not 2023 like you said. I wondered why I had not come across that last December when we travelled to Spain.
You are quite right when we recorded the video, it was due to be launched in 2023. It has since been delayed and delayed and as I type this comment is due for launch Q2 of 2025. Let’s see if it’s delayed again
Hi Good video I have bought a left hand drive motor home with UK number plates & we are planning a trip to Finland. My question is Will I need to put the blind spot stickers on the doors & rear? Thanks for any help
You need the Crit Air to pass through Rouen even though you do no go near the city centre. It’s difficult to pass through Grenoble without going through the Crit Air zone.
Planning first trip to Europe March 2024, good advice and info, question , licence plates have uk stickers, we have camper van do we still need large UK sticker? Just checked ETIAS sight, looks like requirement comes into force 2025 . Thanks for video
France? So you can use a dash cam legally in France, as long as you follow the legal guidance outlaid by French authorities: Recording in Public Spaces: In France, recording video in public spaces is allowed as long as it does not infringe on individuals' privacy rights. This means you CAN use a dash cam to record the road and surroundings while driving.
Hi Matt, It's Sam in Staffordshire again. We're off to Europe on Tuesday via the chunnel, how strict are they on food product's, as look's like we can't actually stock up like in the UK. Can you email me a list of restricted item's, as read chocolate was not aloud, as you said it was 😢 Appreciate your help. Thanku 🙏
Hi matt you mentioned the exemption if travelling with a spouse who has an Irish passport can you tell me where to get this information as I already asked and was told I was not exempt?
Hmmm... After 90 days, leave France and go to Monaco or Andorra !!! Really? Not sure you're even allowed to stay overnight in a camper in Monaco, even if you could stay, you'd have to be there for another 90 days as you'd be trapped. Yes, I suppose you could leave your camper in France and get a cab across the border into Monaco and stay at a Hotel de Paris, but this will set you back around £150,000 for a three month stay!! The same with Andorra having only Spain and France as neighbours: trapped by EU countries to the north and south.... 90 days In Andorra? No thanks...
Very valid points re being landlocked. I guess you could always be a stowaway on a luxury yacht? In fact I have a friend who is doing almost this. 3 months paid work in Monaco on a luxury yacht. And leaving their van in France.
Brilliant guide with a great explanation style. Most enjoyable.
Thank you for your kind encouragement! Really appreciated. Are you heading to Europe soon?
Think I've just seen the most useful vlog ever 👌👍🍾
Wow, thank you! Are you planning a trip soon?
Excellent Matt. Thank you👍
Thank you for watching 🙏
AMAZING LIST OF ADVICE. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH, THIS IS VALUABLE.
You are so welcome! And thanks for watching! The ETIAS scheme is now anticipated for 2025 but get alerts from the gov website
Excellent information.
Thank you very much. Note the ETiAS has been delayed since making this video until Q2 2025

Hello, im getting an older motorhome, if i get ine of the clean air zones stickers, do i then have to pay a fee every time i enter a clean air zone?
No. One payment and the sticker is valid for the life of the motorhome (or the windscreen!)

The ANGLES MORTS decals are only required in France and only necessary in 'Urban' areas
Thanks for clarifying
Good info Matt. Thank you from an Englishman 🇬🇧 in Arabia! ☺
My pleasure!
Vignettes are usually only necessary if you are going to use the motorways in the country.
Thank you for adding this. Quite true
Cracking info Matt
Thank you! 🙏

Hi
Good video

Interesting. I assume it’s over 3500kg?
I would say take them to be safe. But i would assume they are required yes
@@MotorhomeMatt it's 3.5 tons total. But will put some on to be on the safe side.
Thanks
Keep up the videos
Very informative

Great vid! Can you not stop at petrol stations for the night? That's what I had done travelling in the car.

A uk sticker is required now yes. The large one is required in Spain, Cyprus and Malta. ETIAS is coming Q2 2025… probably! EES is coming October 2024
I've had a look on the leisure shop website but can't find the list that you mentioned. Please provide link to it when you get a sec :)

Hi Matt, great informative blog, I’ve subscribed in the shop but can’t find the discount voucher/number?
The breathalyser law was ignored because for most of the time that it was in place the fine was set at €0.
Was it!? Brilliant! Gotta love a French law!
France?
So you can use a dash cam legally in France, as long as you follow the legal guidance outlaid by French authorities:

You can find out the restricted list on the .gov website but I’m yet to hear if anyone being searched!
As for chocolate… in my experience that’s safe!
Follow the rules and you won’t have any problems. Apparently they sell food in Europe so there’s no need to take everything with you.
Hi matt you mentioned the exemption if travelling with a spouse who has an Irish passport can you tell me where to get this information as I already asked and was told I was not exempt?
From the Schengen web site.
Do not use a red warning triangle on French motorways.
Why not? I’m intrigued
You really ought to check your facts matey! You are wrong on a few things.
Thanks for letting me know, matey 😂

I believe the new UK passports are made in France? Am I wrong? It has been known!
Actually they are printed in Poland.
@@iansheppard9736indeed! Thanks for correcting. France would be funnier tho!
@@MotorhomeMattMerely information Matt, but I agree, France, or rather the French, are funnier for most things.
