Wondering what does no inside pins on the Sam's flats get you? I kinda want to try out some different combinations that would get me a bit more rotational play on my pedals...
I’m thinking it might be a feel thing. I run 12mm pins, and they are definitely different than shorter ones. The inside one may have continually grabbed his shoe wrong or just made it feel weird. Conversely, I thought maybe he did it so he always has a default to move his foot back into position. With pins that long they don’t let your foot move at all. With a clean inside edge, he could roll pressure off the outside of his foot to reposition- not having to actually lift his whole foot.
Nicolas plows through obstacles, Hill dodges and flows through them. Nicolas has an absorbing position, with a slight movement for grip on turns. Hill moves his position through every obstacle for the best weight distribution.
Its quite possibly (and more than likely) custom made as per Sams's request. When you are one of the best riders in the world you can ask for stuff and it usually happens.
There's no such thing as the fastest bike, what it is is fastest riders in the world this guys will go fast on any bike 90% rider 10% bike, is nice to think that a new bike salcker longer is gona solve all our problems, well the truth is we need to train more ride more lift weights etc

I think it might be the mavic wheels he’s running, I’ve noticed this a few times myself
I have mavic wheels myself and the spokes are thicker
They are thick, Mavic uses aluminium spokes, unlike everyone else.
