Heresies Ep. 7 (with Ann Widdecombe) - MEN: Second-Class Citizens? The Attack on Men & Men's Rights

  • Whether it be deserving men unable to progress their careers due to female quotas & all-women shortlists, the naming of men in rape allegations whilst the female accuser remains anonymous, or the appalling treatment of men in the family court system -- such as denial of custody rights over children, crippling divorce settlements & child maintenance orders that invariably favour wives over husbands --, many are now asking whether men are now second-class citizens.
In this documentary, (Episode 7 in the New Culture Forum's acclaimed "Heresies" series) the Rt. Hon Ann Widdecombe explores the issue of men's rights in the modern age, an age when men & masculinity are consistently derided and attacked. The ubiquity of the new phrase "toxic masculinity" provides a perfect example of this.
Featuring interviews with well-known figures in men's rights and experts in the psychological damage these experiences are regularly causing men.

think women...real women...were never protected...just the appearence of it. And I always despised all the efforts to put us on pedastals because it was always clear that they tried to put us up high, ready for a big fall. And I am a feminist....in the traditional sence... and I am a tomb boy who was always jealous of how boys were treated in comparison and my having a vagina meant that I wasn't allowed to join in....I would have given anything as a child to be a boy. But as a woman I realize that there can be wisdom in having a womans body with male hormones. I am a loyal wife and mother and all this woke stuff came as a very obvious manipulative threat to the most beloved men in my life, I always worried that women would be blamed in general for the actions of a few vicious or ignorant woman that championed my cause against my will to put all the wrong words in our mouths.....they spoke for us, fought our battles for us, made us victims automatically by birth...how much more oppressed can we get? Check my internet history and find an endless barrage of scrutiny againt these women and their evil causes....me too had me furious and I'm a survivor of some trully horrible things....but we werent fighting the sick men that use suffering for entertainment....we were all too busy looking at poor rich womens arses that got pinched 20 years ago. If that's all they could come up with, then they don't know how lucky they are.
While they cry about some rich old man propositioning those extremely attractive young women, we ignore girls chained to beds in basements. Besides woke women hate tomb boys unless we agree we need a penis :) and my husband is fairly open minded, as am I, but I don't think I even want to figure out who goes on top in this scenario :) Think it's safe to say that if your a stripper, you cant cry for 20 years every time a customer tried to squeeze your big naked boobes 2 inches from their nose. If you act like a whore then its safe to say that many men will assume that you are....thats why men in dresses are usually a lot more whorish than women...because these are no consiquences for them if they do....and that's why they don't desserve all the protections and curtesies offered to women...because they can't get made pregnant by every drunk a hole that might not stop when you resist.... and how much more likely this becomes depending on how you dress and conduct yourself in public.

Thank you so much for highlighting some of these issues, but there is so much more that wasnt even mentioned... The VAWG strategy, that labels male victims of abuse as "victims of violence against women and girls"; the Victims Commissioner and Domestic Abuse Commissioner, who actively fight against the recognition of male victims; the fact that men get far longer sentences for the same crimes compared with women; the fact that homeless women are being treated preferentially, even though men are 80% of rough sleepers; the fact that male victims of domesric abuse only receive 1% of funding, while they are over 35% of victims; boys are taught to ask for consent but girls are not; female perpetrated sexual violence is almost completely ignored; this list could go on forever.

I was treated to the same penance that Noel Wilcox was put through. 10s of thousand of pounds on legal fees, I was only allowed to say 5 words through the court sessions "my name is X Y" despite mother of child being allowed to speak and invited to do so at many opportunities. Child wanted to live with me which CAFCAS confirmed on several occasions, over time the lies the mother and family told the 8 year old child put indecision in his mind, stuff like "if I live with dad my mum will lose her house and kill herself". The judge, such as she was, didnt seem minded to challenge any of this. I walked out with the distinct feeling that I was some sort criminal and paltry access to my son who lived 200 miles away from me.
In the end they failed my son who struggled in school, left at 16 and some minor criminal problems. When he turned 18 this summer just gone he left the house and came to live with me, no argument from mother who by now knew the CSA payments were stopping. I am bringing him on now by getting him back into college education and working part time.
I feel utterly despised and let down by the system that treated my son and myself so poorly.

The family courts proceedings are all done behind closed doors, meaning that a nondisclosure act in place allows the court almost 100% discretion. The court and social service are also fundamentally biased due to the overwhelming amount women employed in the service. In my experience, the only other man apart from myself was the judge. Miscarriages of justice happen to children and fathers, which has to stop for our children's futures and society's betterment.
Men defending themselves in court is seen as violent, which only hurts the man's case. The system is definitely weighted against men. Yet we only hear from the feminists in the media pushing their own agenda.
The situation created through the courts to fathers is overwhelmingly emotional. It removes all agency from the father as they find themselves without any say or control in the proceedings, which are led from a feminist point of view which ultimately is bad for everybody. The feelings of helplessness and despair a father get from the system feed into the suicide statistics.

    • @Baldnesz

I have to say that in my fifteen years experience as a dad trying to get access to their daughter, one of the worst CAFCASS officers I came across was a man and whilst there are plenty of terrible intellectually and morally bankrupt people in the system it is their arrogance and lack of expertise rather than gender that is at work here. It is not going to get any better either. We have people getting degrees in complex subjects that barely understand the basics and have no intellectual faculties or life experience to apply to their work - whilst believing themselves to be intellectually superior to those they are evaluating. The Male Cafcass officer in question wrote in an official report after being assigned to my case , years into it. Having never met me fact to face and after ONE telephone call - that I should never see my children again. He left his job or was fired but that report was still presented to court. What had I done ? Asked him to tell me what he understood about the history of my case before I answered his questions about the latest allegation my ex wife had made against me (bringing her back from contact with wet socks) I kid you not ...

With regard to employment, the roles tagged exclusively for women are only the tip of the iceberg. In many fields now, interviews are typically conducted by panels with a majority of women, and women's well documented own-group preferences are now exercised without embarrassment or fear of censure. Often, candidates are chosen specifically by sex, although of course this will not be documented. Ive seen it happen personally as a member of an interview panel.

Ann Widdecombe is a legend, one of the very few people I would follow into a dragon's den.
Men are leaving traditional roles in droves because, frankly, any benefits are massively outweighed by today's risks. Single motherhood has become so financially incentivised and a whole raft of industries have sprung up to support that.
Men are considered guilty, regardless of any supporting evidence, and a few choice words can ruin a man for life. The trouble today is the ongoing competition to be the biggest victim - by definition you are either oppressed, or an oppressor...
Raising a generation of weak men will be disastrous for all, especially for women.

I spent 5 years in an American prison. I myself was guilty of what I was charged with. It's mostly a myth that other inmates have this judgmental attitude. Being "found guilty" means next to nothing for inmates, since they know full well that the system is often wrong and that the judicial system is significantly flawed. A truly innocent man is often recognizably innocent when they tell their own story. I've met a few of them over my 5 years in prison. They are treated with great respect.

Women have always had more opportunities than men. Men had access to the opportunities created by other men and shared some of these with women e.g. women had jobs in male owned factories in the 1800s. However, what opportunities for women or men were created by women? Name an industry, major company, science, major institution etc created and developed by women? Take sport as an example - all the major sports were created and developed by men. When they became successful women demanded, and were given, access. Now we have women's tennis, women's soccer, women's basketball etc. Odd women have never demanded access to the unpopular sports e.g. tiddly winks! Name a sport created and developed by women, offering opportunities for men? What has stopped women creating and developing sports? Nothing. Even Netball probably the nearest thing is just an offshoot of the male game of basketball. It has near zero participation by men. Indeed in a recent competition in Australia the 1 team of men were booed off the pitch by the female crowds! No the reason women have had a lower share of opportunities is they did little to create any of the opportunities. In my country mining is a big, male dominated industry. It was founded by men going into the desert with a shovel and an donkey load of supplies. No women risked their lives in this dangerous occupation. The women were happy to sit back and demand an equal share of the profits though, never the losses!

How much more equality do you want? It's gone so woke the opportunity had to be opened up, but I guarantee very few women will take it up knowing the physical intensity of close quarter war fighting knowing that in reality, women are not physical equipped for the role which demands it! Few will, but yes, equality is not the goal, it's superiority, and I say mission accomplished.

First up, I thank you Ann Widdecombe for doing this item exposing the injustice. Our child services had to pay my side some compensation because of innuendo. Innuendo sounds insignificant, any yet in today’s world an innuendo equals an assertive allegation in effect and result. I will also add that between us guys and the compensation payer, are lawyers, and no funds get past lawyers. Our case was one where mother was violently abusing the children. First I tried bringing help into the family, but found that mothers violence is not recognised by authorities. I could not leave and save the children, and so I stayed - at least I could get emergency medical for the kids when I get home from work. It came to a head one morning eight years later when mum almost killed one daughter (8yrs old). I called police, and the constable shamed me for calling him, after all, women spend so long with the kids and so kids will annoy mothers enough to justify the violence. The government funded my wife’s side of the case, and broke my life in many ways, not just financially. Like your interviewee, I watched as my ?FRIENDS? Ran for the hills never to be seen again. Our private medical and other files were all betrayed despite privacy assurances. Although my wife had a record of 8 years harming the children, all was blamed on my “Unusual manner of domination, POWER and CONTROL” check out the Duluth wheel of Power and control, under which males cannot ever be victim. Feminists love that bit of tripe. The state took my family away into 24/7 parenting supervision and support, while the male crunching activists tightened their lies against me. My daughter’s did not crack during “(so called) Evidential interviews” - they recount being bullied by social-workers to say what would be assured to put me in prison as a sex offender. My daughter’s words “Come on your Dad did this . . . didn’t he - admit it” she recounts that was over and over for long enough that some women had time to leave and return smelling of tobacco smoke. State are child abusers. And despite my wife's record of harm and my record of taking the kids to hospital, I lost (lies won) every court application up until my wife demonstrated her harm to the children while remote from me and under state care. So much so the state returned the case to court, a fresh judge, a judge who bothered to read the file, a judge who reversed custody in my (the kids) favour. However as everybody knows (wink) men are not good nurturers and so to get custody I had to agree to walk out on my job, and not work. For the kids sake I agreed, but I never was earning again. I lost the house and all assets. Grandma (my mum) died upon hearing the false allegations - never saw me exonerated. We survived on welfare out of op-shops. The war cry of these hypocritical lying state and NGO employees is “we only have the children’s best interests at heart!” nothing could be further from reality in fact. They are disgraceful and deserving of utter condemnation, and also imprisonment themselves. After all their attacks on family are also attacks on our culture, our communities, and our futures.

You see, I am so lucky. I could not win the case even though all the facts and reality were in my favour - LUCKY that my wife shot herself down. Lucky also that my wife did not support the sexual false allegation, those were feminist inventions. I say - be careful. But both my kids are female and I got to raise them on my own. As such I have followed their development and problems - including when their femininity is rejected by feminism on account that they dare mention that women are also violent. They become "non-women" in feminism's view. For my part I understand how hard it is for males. And through my girls I get to see the confused and feminised condition of the males they encounter. Boys are raised to defend and help their mothers, and not their fathers. And then there are the mother's new partners, and many of those are a threat to the kids safety.

Many other major issues in Britain, and the rest of the Anglo Saxon world it seems, are dictated by tiny unelected pressure groups. This has happened because we now have so many incompetent clone career politicians who will not think for themselves and that is the result of the two main parties now pre-selecting parliamentary candidates from which constituency parties then have to choose. They are invariably selected because of their 'correct' views, reinforcing the centralised control of the parties, and candidates' perceived maleability. Add to that the first-past-the-post system of election and you have the political stagnation we now endure, where important issues like the corruption and unfairness of the family courts, and many other equally important issues, aren't even discussed let alone addressed.
