This live version of Dirty Creature sounds almost like the studio version , which just goes to show what a great band Split Enz were, not relying on loads of mixing. To this day TIME AND TIDE still remains one of my favourite alblums 40years on
Quando da giovane non sò come trovai Mental Notes in qualche negozio a Roma lo consumai a forza di ascolti.....chissà se ero l'unico in italia😅😅....Bellissimo!!!
OMG ... InCREDible performance! I'm jealous of the audience that got to see this in person! This is probably my favorite Split Enz tunes - fell in love with it when it came out ... and man alive! this performance just knocks it out of the park!!! WOWWWWWW!
The True Colours and Waiata tours in Winnipeg, Canada (C1980; 1982) were the BEST concerts I have ever attended and made me a life-long Enz fan. Both were in the Centennial Concert Hall (unheard of for rock acts) with its wonderful acoustics and great sight lines. Love Eddie's keyboard "fortress"!
Split-Enz known for accurate live shows. "Dirty Creature" definitely one of Split-Enz best songs! Great sax-solo. Underrated New Wave rock band. Sophisticated stuff here, very Eclectic, very taught, but loose, "loosely tight" you might say....Split-Enz certainly put New Zealand on the map long before "Hercules" and "Zena".......
Cheers for the quick reply! I actually meant the 3rd of June, not the 6th sorry. According to Setlist FM the Enz played at the Royal Oak Music Theatre (in the US) on the 12th of June 1982, that's all. Cheers!
Perspective. Anticipated out comes to an unknown future. Collect and interprate the dirty little signals, gauge the creature its dynamics ,its inviroment, its timing most importantly its weakness. We are fit to handle the complexity of unsafe situations.
When they first played New Faces on Kiwi TV, 1972, Tim was wearing green tights and sitting on a piano and my mum near shat herself! she was so disgusted. I can see his willy! yuk!
I couldn't get enough of these guys when I was kid, just loved everything they put out... 40 years later, not much has changed! What a performance!
A song about anxiety and panic attacks. Absolutely brilliant and very universal.
It’s extremely rare to have a band sound BETTER live than on record!!!! Brilliant stuff!!!!
The mark of a great band, for sure.
Besides every Aus and NZ band ever..
Queens of the Stone Age were better live.

Noel Crombie most underrated of the Enz drummers - that groove slaps! So does 'Strait Ol Line'
Tims a legend, such a tune. Love the humour in a bunch of their songs

I bought a VHS bootleg of this show back in the 80s and played this tune til it wore out. Great rendition of a great song!

Anyone know who the mystery hooded Saxophonist is ? Robert Gillies?
wait so there's a grim reaper sax player, is that possibly Robert Gilles wouldn't be a bad guess if he was called on for this
Hey PG, are you sure this wasn't the 6th June 1982?
No our date is correct.
