I just watched Late Last Night video and was loving his vocal shifts. I hope they have better popularity in Australia. Icehouse was another Australian band I loved to listen to, and both hold the gravity of memories during those times.
@@colklink00 I am so bad about that. I guess it's a lazy American, proximity thing, like Puerto Rico is America or not America? Thanks for correcting me, I should remember it now.
Saw Tim last night at the Sydney Opera House, obviously at 71 his voice is not as strong as 40 odd years ago, however he and a great band( including his daughter Elliott ) took the audience on a magical trip down memory lane. Musical genius!!!
Oh wow...my mom also just totally loved this band. As I age, I love them even more: humble, gentle, powerful...not being macho jerks about women or anything. Wonderful guys.
10 years ago to this year, mum would introduce me to split enz and this was the very song that got the ball rolling for me and now 10 years on i have met noel, eddie and witness neil play live with crowded house. I owe this band so much for shaping my life one small day in late primary school at age 12 (now 22) to now broadcasting on volunteer radio proudly playing away the music of one of the greatest nz acts and with a one fantastic collection to boot.
Time and Tide is a fantastic LP !!! Split Enz were great, so underrated. The Finn brothers are so talented, all their stuff is great....a band of my youth while ery one else was listening to Skynard ..no knock on Skynard.
What a brilliant song/video. Remember when this came out. I got the album "Time and Tide" . A classic Split Enz album. "Dirty Creature" is like Tim Finn's "Strawberry Fields" , the John Lennon composed Beatles classic. 40 years since "Dirty Creature " was released, good times.
I personally remember the Split-Enz with "I Got You," and "One Step Ahead," and I thought just another " New Wave" Band...now all these years later I'm rediscovering Split-Ends much to my chagrin.....Split Enz is not for everybody, but you don't have to be everybody.....
Although outdated by today's standard, this was the greatest video of 1982. Not a fan of the band, but they absolutely changed how music was displayed!!! 2 Thumbs-up!!!

Incredibly great song and better in 2023 than it was in 1983.
Tim Finn is absurdly underrated

Just having a Finn music night and Tim is most certainly underrated.
He always reminded me of Tom Hanks❤loved this one for so many years ❤

My mom played this song all the time. She’s gone now but this song makes me happy to remember.
The beast doesn't know when to stop
One of my favorite songs from 1982
May she rest in peace. God bless you

Should have been in the Stranger Things soundtrack. Great song.
Pretty sure its about addiction...jus sayin

No
Split Enz are just as melodic yet much darker than Crowded House. Tim was ahead of his time that’s for sure.
Brothers
How are these guys so underrated?

Early 80s.....There was a mighty small group of us in the US that loved THE ENZZZ many more still do. raveon NZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me! I was a senior in high school when Crowded House premiered and I’m like “helll0!! I was digging this music 4 years ago”.
Split Enz had so many great hits in the 80's!
Split Enz were brilliantly eccentric and colourful in a beige world! 😆❤️😎
Greatest Nz band of all time
I THINK SO.
Agree entirely.
Split enz, dragon, mi sex.
Australian Actually, lived in Australia
Nostalgia Split Enz big 80 MTV 1982 Dirty Creature
Eddie Rayner is one of the true underrated clevermen of pop music; his every contribution is stellar.
Saw Crowded House (with Tim) live back in the late 80's. and yes, they played this one.
I was a total metal head during the 80's. This was truly a closet song that I worshipped!!! I love this song!!!
I lived for this video coming on MTV back in the day. Tim Finn is a freaking genius. Still playing Split Enz and loving his solo work as well!
Yes.... When New Zealand was good music..... from an Aussie...
Shihad have taken the baton..great NZ band
Australians hate NZ music
I was 12 years old watching MTV on rotation, and this was one of my favorites by Split Endz. I was in LOVE with this haunting song!!💯🔥✨️

Cool dark undercurrent in this
My 21 yo was playing this in her car this morning- parenting done right
Just seen Tim Finn play last week. He still has it and this song is still a banger.
This song convinced me that I don’t want to sail.
Most underatted song by the enz! Great performance by the most artistic member of the group

The best Chorus I’ve ever heard
Loved these guys since the 70’s
This was on the playlist of Qantas rock when I migrated from England to Australia in March 1982
Written by the Finn brothers, along with Nigel Griggs, it's a real masterpiece.
The brothers Finn were two most of the talented singer songwriters ive ever heard .
Great Song , Great Band , Oh l Remember Those Days 🎉😂
How can Split Enz only have 3K subscribers??
Mind boggling
A good voice.
My fave SE track since it dropped.
I remember the song in the movie , The Ferryman. Good horror flick
I haven't herd this song for a very long time.
Loved seeing the clip for the first time! Have loved the song since the mid 80s but had never seen this before, with its drowned souls (I assume)
I feel like we just caught up to their sound lol. This is good stuff.
GENIUS BRAVO!!!
Brilliant!
Ashes to Ashes vibes.
Phenomenal band.
ENZ best band songs videos and style
I don’t wanna sail tonight

One of my favs! x
you can just feel Tim waiting to bust out of the Split Enz circle to get some solo stuff done
Looking at the lyrics for this one, I've always wondered...gotta be about addiction, right? Rough seas indeed.
Dirty Creatures, Scary Monsters.
great tune
True Kiwi gusto 👍🏼
Produced by Hugh Padgham. Legend !
I want Tim's jacket
BONITA CANCIÓN
This looks like the missing scenes from that underwater Harry Potter flick. Did Neil and Tim get expelled with the Weasley twins?

Songs about panic attacks and mental illness experienced by one or both brothers. They're ok, but the drummer committed suicide. R. I. P
That was Crowed House’s drummer
@@michaelwaugh5415 Paul Hester did drum on the final Split Enz album, actually.
