It isn't quite true that he provided useful info to the "Gimme ID" addict in this video. Any person even visiting the US pays some sort of tax on their consumable goods. If you put gas in your vehicle, you are paying taxes. How much the gov't takes varies by state. The federal gov't takes its cut of $0.18 per gallon. In my state of Pennsylvania, the state gov't takes another $0.50 per gallon. So, no matter what, everyone pays taxes.
I agree with you 100% that talking to these kinds of tyrants benefits them, not us. We should all be adamant about exercising our 5th amendment right to not incriminate ourselves by remaining silent in the face of a manipulative, dissembling tyrant trying to intimidate us into waiving our 4th amendment right to be secure in our persons and papers.
The videographer nailed it. The cop complains of him being "rude" but the cop is engaging in an unconstitutional violation of the person's rights (i.e. detainment without justification).
There is no logic to the cop's approach. The person has rightfully pointed out something regarding paying taxes for public property, but the cop myopically focuses on whether or not the auditor has paid taxes for *this* public property. Quite frankly, regardless of whether I live there, if I pay for even a stick of gum then the local area has tax money from me. But this is irrelevant to the bigger picture of the constitutional rights which do not require paying taxes in order to have rights.
