As a genealogist it breaks my heart that the relatives do not want their ancestors pictures. Since most of them are not labeled they might not know who they are. The scrapbooking with the newspaper clippings may be of interest to local buyers who are also genealogist or historians. I am glad you saved them from the trash.
Thank you! Very cool job that you have!
I agree with you and always wonder why doesn't the family want the pictures.
The family probably doesn't know the personal stuff and pictures are up there.
@@sherryfreeman5338 yes they did because I literally checked out with multiple family members who saw the items and one family member was up there with me at one point when I was going through the photos
Meh 😑.
I can't believe that the family doesn't want pictures of their ancestors. Those pictures are amazing, and I would love to have pictures like that. I love how somebody labeled the scrap books with the years on the front, and im sure those books meant a lot to them.
I agree but not all families want the old photos. Some just have no attachment to them and just want to free up the space.
I used to spend almost every Saturday afternoon in a 50-year-old huge antique store digging and found a scrapbook with aerial snapshots of concentration camps during WWII. I sold it on eBay, but I really wish I hadn't. But, the buyer said he wanted to publish a book with it, so I'm glad it was going to be used to teach others about the War.
That’s terrific! Yes, if the scrap book content of news articles has a great theme, go for it!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter They were actual photos taken from an airplane as they flew over the camps during WWII by the man who owned the scrapbook. The real thing! That store had lots of items from retired military men since it is near an military base.
@@barb-jm7990 i hope they were used for his book and are now in the hands of a museum. Knowledge that needs to be shared.
Wow your so calm ! And I didn’t knw so much about photos just started reselling but now I knw how to approach that section Ty for all your info !
@@cassandrahager8197 my pleasure! Thanks for watching
That pink crocheted doll looks like on of those toilet paper concealer dolls.
Yup, it was!
That's a wonderful vintage tablecloth you're using as a rag.
It also smelled horribly which you can’t detect through a video
I absolutely love the old & vintage photos. It is so incredibly sad that the family didn't want them though. Hi Daisy!
I love every one of your videos.
That vintage doll with pink & white skirt is a toilet paper cover. EVERYBODY had one in their bathroom in the 50’s. I wish it was a rare, valuable doll. But alas, she is the keeper of the toilet paper. Love to you and your family & of course Daisy ❤️ By the way I’m almost 70, so I very much remember, because my Mother didn’t like the doll/tp idea so we never had one but everyone else did!!!
What about the Cabbage Patch Doll box? And the linens and curtains! Maybe they dont interest you? Oh well, pick whatever brings you joy. My favorite items were the beautiful vintage curtains with the little white rings that you were using to move stuff with. They are in fantastic condition, such vibrant reds and yellow and blue!
Cabbage patch doll box for as empty and not worth getting. Few of the dolls are even worth getting at this point. I did not pick up the linens and curtains due to sanitary reasons and stains.
creepy music box playing as you go through the creepy old photos 😱
Right lol. I don’t even know where that was coming from. I think the attic was haunted
Prime Time! That photo of the two elderly people took the cake in my book! WOW! To make it even more interesting, she was even knitting, YOU always astound me with the incredible treasures you score. I am in Florida now but lived most of my life in NY on LI and I so miss all of the estate sales from many of those old vintage packed homes, it is just not the same here. This was an amazing video, thanks for the morning entertainment I had with my coffee.
Thank you, sunshine! I love your name by the way. As someone who once moved from New York to Florida for a while I can definitely relate on the differences. I’m glad to be able to reconnect you to your New York roots with these videos! Thanks for the comment.
My grandmother Clancy bought from those oldcestates...usually idc was very low vost, like the 2 bushel baskets of daffodils bulbs she brought to us once. I miss the Long Island of the 1940s-1950s.
Pardon the typos!
Oh my! NEW YORK SRATE really is such a beautiful area ...I lived in Cornwall ont across border at Massena. I did geneology 13 yrs, and people were searching for their American history.
😅
oh, i would have loved to get those little paintings of the old house kitchen scene. those looked amazing.
I had bot a lot of antique/vintage glass from this auction, I didn’t think there was any chance I’d end up with the glass I got, but I ended up helping a woman and her husband who lived in another state and the woman was was the only child of her parents, the mother passed away years ago and father just passed away. I ended up helping them clear the property, the farm, had been in the family with the grandparents raised there, then the fathers family, then he and his wife raised their family there, the farm house, and all the cows and farm equipment sold very quickly at the auction, household items did not do well. One of the last days they had some stuff still upstairs, old photos like you have, books, some school paperwork from colleges that were established long ago, I have a few college newsletters all hand typed, lol. Amazing items Great show Prime Time, Daisy. Get some prime rib for dinner tonight sweetie. You deserve it💕
Thanks! Sounds like great stuff you found there!
I'm so glad you rescued the old photos. Continue to give them life and appreciation.
Thank you!
Hi Dom, It is correct, that sitting down calm and easy and take your time can get you some good stuff. But in the case of photos I had just grabbed the hole box. Cause what happens when you sit there for 20 minutes, the other guys gets all the other treasures in the house :-) and maybe the more valuable ones. I understand why you made a spot for your self cause I love old photos and postcards my self :-) and collect them. But I am from Denmark so it is mostly danish stuff I collect. And I have a lot from the period 1885-1930. I enjoy watching your channel all the way from Denmark. I am a picker and collector myself and have been for around 12-15 years. So it is fun to see what is going on abroad as well. Thanks for the entertainment. Best Regards René
Thanks but I do not agree with this approach. I will explain more in the next video. I've actually explained it before but will do so again.
LOVED THE OLD PICTURES !! Was afraid 😨 you were Going to Past Them up, CONGRATS !!
Have no fear… I’m the Prime Time Treasure Hunter. 😊
That was a bargain at $30. I would have been in the attic for hours and probably pulled out even more stuff. The photos look fantastic!
Yep, I was in there for hours. The footage is edited
What a cool adventure! They had some awesome vintage items! I liked the fabric you used to clean out a place to sit. I wish you would have picked that up. I also liked the enamel table and chair down in the basement beside the washer. I think that’s where you found the juicer. That desk/chair combo would have been a great piece to restore. My favorite find was definitely the hair dryer!! I had never seen one that old. Super cool! Thanks for bringing us along ❤
Dom! Sweet Jesus, 48 minutes AND an attic. Be still my heart. Loved this video. It actually looked like the house we lived in (Rochester, N.Y.) when I was born. (#7 of 11)!
After seeing the mouse “deposits” I was concerned about condition but wow,the condition of the books and pictures is pretty incredible. Real photo postcards! Ca Ching. Can’t believe the family wasn’t interested in them. Thanks for taking us along.
Yes! The paper items were well preserved being buried in the box for so long and protected by the things around it. Not so for the linens
Did not know Pollyanna was such a world traveler, lol. I've sold Horatio Alger books as well. I love the covers. That linen though!! What you were using to move stuff around, I would have picked that up if it was washable, but I know linen is not everyone's cup of tea. Say Hi to Daisy for me!
Yeah, I keep trying to explain to ppl with the linens that it’s hard to convey through the video the smells in the attic in addition to the sanitary issues. It’s so hard to get the smells out and once I saw the rat droppings that was it. So I focused on the other stuff. Will say hi to Daisy!
also a good tip is when you are in the attic alone searching for treasures make sure the organizers know you are there so they don't leave you there when they go home😉
Yeah that’s a good point lol
Well, if accidentally locked in, I would just use my time to thoroughly go through all of the boxes to find the treasures. lol
@@barb-jm7990 lol great idea!
The early edition, original writing Nancy Drew book you were holding at 17:55 might bring a really good profit. Those sell well!
It actually does not bring good profit. I specialize in books. First of all, it's pretty damaged. Condition is nearly everything when it comes to books. Secondly, you can get one for $13 on ebay.
Hey Dominic, the GIRLS OF THE TRUE BLUE book was illustrated by a famous artist, Howard Chandler Christy, who painted many gorgeous woman back in the day.
Thanks for the info!
We Shareness Daisy Puppy Dog. Sweet that she LOOKS OUT FOR THE FAMILY, GREAT JOB !!
The curtain you were using has value as well as many other fabrics I saw. i wish we had estate sales like that where I live. great to go along with you on this hunt.
Thanks but I stay away from fabrics when they are in this type of environment. Hard for viewers to appreciate the smells and there were sanitary issues. Mrs PT does not want me taking that stuff home.
Those doilies and other crocheted pieces are very valuable. The smell will likely wash out.
Bearded iris is my favorite flower. They are beautiful and very large.
@@leeannafitzgerel8740 Not if you smelled what I smelled. From a health perspective too, I just don't want to deal with it.
What a great amount of treasures. This was an amazing learning experience for me and how I can enjoy going through estate sales more intently. Thank you.
Dom. Can you add kf94 masks to your estate picking kit? They come individually packed in their own sealed envelope. Cool video but the dust would have me coughing and the droppings would have freaked me out.
I deafly will be adding a mask. I did not know that that the attic was going to be there. I did have my face covered for most of my time up there though.
I’m new to your videos. I love this one especially. The old photos, paper emphera, books scrapbooks, crochet doilies, linens, AWESOME. I would love to have them alllol
Thanks Nancy! Welcome to the Prime Time family!
So interesting. We have old photos mostly from my husband’s family. You have patience to go through the photos. Really liked the print of the little girl. The juicer was great. Daisy has quite a stash. Give her a double tap! 😀
Everyone else left... They weren't messing with the troll looking for his precious. LOL
Fun video, it's good to see you digging in chaos like that b/c we sometimes run into the same thing and on the surface it might appear there's nothing worth the time.
Definitely good tips on just taking one's time and not getting overwhelmed.
I'm interested in seeing what those pics go for and how you lot them up or sell individually.
Daisy, I spent the morning running a Yardsale at my Grandpa's house. His Shih Tzu, Bandit, says "hi"
Hi Bandit! Thanks on the comments! Stay tuned to my RUclips for what the pics sell for
Okay I finally got to watch definitely worth the wait! I would have gone for the photos too. Great finds. Maybe they would have thrown in the scrapbooks of newspaper clippings...leaving those behind made me sad LOL. Probably the hoarder in me but I kept thinking there might be a historical clipping in there. Anyway...fun dig! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Glad it was worth it lol. Someone else probably got those other scrapbooks. I have to leave something for others 😂
A really interesting episode in the attic. Thanks for sharing!
That was a wonderful treasure trove of old illustrated children's books! As someone who ince sold books online, and at one time had over 11,000 books, I would have been delighted to make that find. 🎉
I love that old mailbox. I'm addicted to old metal objects of any type or sort. Without the hooks attached to the bottom I can see that sitting on my desktop as a decorative item.
Hi Dom, That was fun. Wish there would have been jewelry but the photos are great. Always love to see Daisy. TFS ✌
Thanks Mary! Stay tuned for the next video for jewelry!
Great video!! So fun and exciting!! What a great sale!!!!
As soon as you got to the attic I was hoping you would check those photos and ephemera! I would have had a field day in there! Amazing find. 3 of those photos will cover your costs and you have so many! Great gets!
Thanks Chris! I knew you’d love those photos!
So much fun, I have been sick this week so no treasure hunting for me this weekend, have to live vicariously through RUclips. Watching that made me want to sneeze though...
Oh yes it was hard to breathe there. Feel better!
And tonight we are reporting another truck has hit the railroad bridge”. 😅😅. Fun treasure hunting.
Another one hit it today! They need to elevate that thing!
Thanks again, Bearded Iris ! My favorite kind of Estate Sale
Thanks Paul! I agree! Nothing beats an attic treasure hunt!
Cool mailbox! I appreciate you mentioning me, you sure get into some neat old houses
Really enjoy your videos, and learn so much from them. Thanks for taking the time to educate us. My favorite tip today was the nails in the attic!😊
Thanks Kathleen! Yes, that tip can save a serious injury.
Thanks for taking us along with you. I am learning!
Thanks Sharon!
Daisy with all the junk food plush lol
She needs a Dew plush
Love the books and photos, but luve love Daisy, sending her hugsssss from Granma in England
15:47 😳Ooh! I’m prob the only person who would’ve beelined to frantically empty that marlboro cardboard box. Yeah, for the box.😂
Seriously, you hit the jackpot that was so cool!
Edit: Again, got to the end and you mentioned grabbing the Mountain Dew box so… maybe it’s not just me? 😂😅
Nice finds in that attic Dom! I loved the old photos
Thanks Rosemary! Those were a treat
I have been to countless estate sales where the family doesn't want anything to do with military citations and decorations, personal awards, yearbooks, personal letters, and pictures. It is sad, but its their choice for reasons not explained.
100%. Better that I save them then they go into a dumpster
Great to see you here and find lots of treasures 😊❤
Thanks
great finds! I also would have picked up the flour jar and the syrup jar with the red lid as I like vintage kitchen items. Like your attic strategy.
Thanks Polly!
Can't wait...this looks like it's going to be incredible!!! Way to build the suspense LOL 😆
Thanks Jen! This was a blast!
Miss Daisy you have toys! I love how you wait for Mama to come home 🏡 ❤️
She is hilarious! Lol
I would think the family would want those historical family photos ,but apparently they just didn't care.
The pink thing you said was add all the grandmas used to make them to cover the extra roll of toilet paper in your bathroom
Yep I know thanks 😀
Wow! Wow! Wow! $30.00! You did amazing! Really, really enjoyed this one! ❤️
Aww Daisy 💛 I like your hair bow. My family had a Basset named Daisy.
I see some solid-wood picture frames - those are the sort of things I would buy. I usually toss the picture if there is one. If you look online, the cost of a new 9' length of framing lumber is well over $100, which is about enough to make a 20" x 30" frame. That's why people buy old frames and resize them, particularly if they are oak, maple, or cherry.
Did you take The Clue of the Broken Locket - I see some sellers are asking $50 for early copies. It's $2000 with the original dust jacket, but that's nearly impossible to find.;
Good point on the framing lumber! Thanks. Did not get the book. That version is worth about $18 in decent condition but it had too much damage inside
The bearded iris 💪🏻love that. So I’m still watching - I’m at the part where you’re moving stuff over so you can sit and take your time & go through everything & I thought - gosh I visualize someone with allllll your accomplishments & status’s in life being fast and breezing through things (I mean you’re a busy man) you’re quite the opposite- you take your time, teach, enjoy & do everything with intention & purpose. Very cool! You treat people we’ll & appreciate all the things. That’s pretty rad.
Still watching but I thought gosh that’s such a cool gift you have. Thought I’d shout that out - you’re a cool dude, Primetime
The “small yarn” is called floss. I recently sold 2 different giant ziplocks for decent money with those 👍🏻 great pick up
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your positivity and understanding of what I’m doing. I always say there’s no need to rush to another room to hunt for treasures when there’s a pile of treasures right in front of you. 😃
@@Jessy.shops23 yep, embroidery 🧵 floss. Looking to do well with this lot 👍
Oh my gosh, that was a great video. Thank you.
Thanks Robin!
Maybe u should rename ol' Daisy as Double Tap Daisy lol cuz I just can't resist leaving her a comment knowing she'll get some good lovin!❤🥳 She reminds me very much of my very 1st dog that I had for 17 yrs. We got her when I was one, she was a Poodle Terrier named Matilda (Tilda for short) and she was about Daisy size. Daisy is such a cutie and the ever loyal friend, what a gal. Daisy, I applaud ur loyalty to Mrs. PT and ur always appeasing Mr. PT even though he isn't the Mrs. u always give him a bit of time and love and that's a good gurl Daisy 😍🥰☺️❤🦴(when u read it to her can u do the "that's a good gurl" in a baby voice kinda deal?) Thx PT
P.S. these hidden treasure/gotta dig videos are my ALL TIME FAVS. I'm mostly a listener of RUclips vids and not a watcher, but with these ones, I find myself glued to the screen unable to look away. U definitely have found ur niche with these vids and have the ability to really do them up great! Thanks again Dom, God Bless!
Thanks Tessa! Glad you like these kind of vids! They seem to be popular! I will read this to Daisy with an extra special baby voice and be sure to give extra double taps! Thanks for sharing about your 1st dog!
Well, new subscriber here. Very interesting sale. There's nothing like it in my area. It's funny how it seemed like very few people had visited the attic but once you went up there the floodgates opened. I always hate that when it happens. It's a dream of mine to be able to enter a time capsule of an attic, untouched for decades, and take my time to go through everything one by one, finding all kinds of cool photos and whatnots. I'm addicted to old photographs. I just wish family members wrote names and dates on the back of their photos.
Great video as always❤
Thanks Hope!
Great video Dom!! Love the dedication of tackling that dusty old attic! Lol you da man!
Thanks brother. It was tough up there but fun!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter lots of great pictures and ephemera there!💥💥
Double tap Daisy and yourself...that was great content!!!
Thanks Sandy! Consider us double tapped! Lol
I recognized that sale! When I saw the box from Edwards, I knew this had to be Syracuse! Nice score here!
Thanks Cathy!
Yeah! another estate sale full video. I think the pink doll is a toilet paper cover. Aunt Connie
I think you are right! Good ol Aunt Connie always knows lol
Those book finds are awesome PT!
Thanks GG!
Amazing haul 👌
Great items! Great Price! Great Double Taps!
Lol thanks!
Did not really have a favorite item in what you bought but I love that green cabinet in your house!!
Thanks! We actually got that at an estate sale. :)
The pink chrocheted doll is to hide a back up toilet paper: the legs go in the roll and the skirt over the toilet paper. People had them in the back window of their cars , or nicely placed in the guest toilet room. Lovely pick:-)
Love those digger sales they are the best. I am in Ga and sometimes we have different stuff here in the South. I wanted you to pick up that vintage angel candelabra in the attic on that old chest , and the powder jar ( I think that was the lid to it ) in the chest drawer😅. Do u find lots of vintage Christmas???
This is so sad the family didn't go through the attic.
I would think they would have hired someone to sort everything and put out, so people wouldn't have to stay up in that molded, dusty attic.
I would also think there were many treasurers in that attic.
I love these videos but they do encourage me to get rid of stuff now 😅
That could be a job for someone!😀 I would love to do that. Pay me $20.00 hr to go through memorabilia. Maybe get some other gems from the house as well. First dibs.
I get such a kick out of you! My father was in a band called Rusty Ruben Ranch boys in the thirties. If you ever find any photos or scrapbooks I would love to have them thank you for your expertise
Love the old photos. Did you check the stainless cookware beside where you found the mailbox? Some of the vintage stainless does very well. Thanks for great content.
Thanks! Did not grab the stainless but I have a lot of it already I need to list. Thanks for watching!
Those lace pieces are beautiful!! I just bought 2 lots of lace from Lockernuts; going to use some of it for a quilt. Fabulous old photos! Are there any relatives that would want any of the photos? (PS, please keep gloves and a mask with you for digging in attics and basements, dust, possible rodent droppings..)
They don’t want the photos. 3 family members were there and confirmed. Agree on mask and gloves. Was totally not expecting that attic at all so I had to improvise
The little doll may be a Storybook Doll from the 50’s
now that's my kind of day.....sorting through a ton of stuff in an attic that has sat untouched for years....what fun! You found a plethora of some really cool old photos!!! I didn't know they had blow dryers that old. I think it's funny because back in the day they love to use that word .....-omatic.... for products but really it was all manual work....nothing auto"matic" about it at all 🤣 says the girl that loves her robot vacuum.
Hi Dominic, thank you for your videos. They’re really awesome I was just curious your last estate sale up in Syracuse. Did you happen to pick up the Mountain Dew box?
Lol thanks! I thought about it but passed. I have soooo many boxes lol
I'm brand new to your channel and enjoy it! I lived in Syracuse, NY as a child, so that makes it even more interesting to me😊
Oh wow that’s great! Welcome to the Prime Time family!
The funeral card for the 8 year old girl was cool.
That was amazing
More of these please ❤
Would love to lol
Love the Juicer!!!
the bearded iris sounds like a bad stripper name. lol. I love all the ephemera!! i can spend hours looking through old photos and postcards. Done really well selling some too.
Lol. Yeah, old photos can sell really well
I like all the stuff that you found in your boxes and when I go out I find those things all the time I love it I don't have room for all of it I don't know how to sell it so I'm joining you maybe you can help me out I had fun being there with you
Thanks Tim! Easy to sell. Just do some comp searches on eBay for sold examples of something similar, see what is available currently for sale and price accordingly
Nice find👍🤓👍
Thanks!
Antique glassware and toweling unused items are also a give and then the cotton you found is embroidery yarns.
Don’t understand the 1st part of your sentence and I know they are embroidery yarns. Thanks
Loved the attic
Very fun
MY NEW FAVORITE CHANNEL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you! Welcome to the Prime Time family!
favorite items were the Horatio Alger and Pollyanna books.
Oh cool! Thanks!
I’m a new subscriber and am enjoying the channel. I wonder if you ever come across stashes of y knitting yarn. Just as I wrote this, you came across a yarn stash. Many don’t realize yarn can sell for quite a bit. Particularly natural fibers.look for wool, alpaca, silk, etc. Acrylic yarn is a no go in my opinion, but I guess someone might want it.
Well, she was the 'original', Princess Leah. Star Wars, baby! 😂
Awesome video. It was great seeing u pickup those old black white photos. It’s cool seeing preserved history. I actually still own photos my grandmother left behind of the family.. also old black and white photos of the sisters of the filipino Nationalist Jose Rizal 🥰
Thanks Lara! I appreciate it!
Great video!
Thanks Shanna!
Amazing house search
Thanks!
I use acrylic paints to do touch-ups. Sometime they look good as new ( oh, I mean 'old').
I love the little cream and sugar. Set
Thanks!
Love your video.
Thank you!
The old photos !❤❤❤❤
I have never been to a sale of any kind where the items are boxed up and you dig for it- that it was incredible but it was surprising. Did the family have any idea what was up there? Also, if there were bonds, certificates, or money in any of those books, scrapbooks, or piles of papers and you bought them and didn’t discover the money until you got home, would you keep it as part of your purchase or return it?
The family had a general idea what was there and approved of all items at check out. I generally keep what I find and discover. Whether I would return a surprise find would depend on what it was and the amount. See my video called They Want it Back for an example.
