  • We cleaned this dishwasher in this manner and then took it apart again because there was one part we
    could not get to the first time. It was harder than we thought. The good news is that the dishwasher
    works much better.

    Thanks to the woman for her info and demonstration. But, the know it all guy chatting nonsense in the background of the video needs to concentrate on his camera only. The woman sounds competent to do the job and she is easy to follow. I guess my sense of humour doing this work has gone out the kitchen door!

    Here in 2022 when I thought the dishwasher I got from a friend was unsalvageable! It was unbelievably packed with pink and black goo! I followed these steps to take it apart, deep clean it, and put it back together. After about two hours it’s clean and come to find out the NORMAL cycle is supposed to take only an hour opposed to FOUR HOURS! Thanks y’all! It was a big help!

      I got those EXACT Dishwasher(Has a Black front) for Free from an Elderly Couple who said she hates dishwashers and only used it a handful of times. She changed out this one for a newer only Only because they remolded their entire kitchen to all Stainless Steel appliances That were all WiFi compatible.. So that they could get a Higher price for their home when it is sold after they die. I just took out my old one that didn’t clean for anything and also stopped draining and installed this Dishwasher myself. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be and now I have a dishwasher that runs great and cleans my dishes the way it should lol.. Videos like this come in handy especially when you don’t want to pay almost the price of a new dishwasher to have someone come out and do exactly what you can do yourself with a DIY video.

    Thank you!! Just unclogged our Elite (model 665.13759K602) and your video had EVERYTHING I needed to know! FYI, on the Elite, the water feed tube (the tall thing you removed first) is held up with tiny metal clips, not screws, but in the same general areas as your screws (pull the clips outward to free it). And yeah, there's a screw holding the blade cover (use a smaller star bit than the filter screws). Once that was out, I needed a small flathead screwdriver to pry it out. Pulled a bunch of plastic bits and bone fragments out - so gross but satisfying!

    Wife in this video, you are my spirit animal! I didn’t call them star screws. I had a non rated G name for mine since I couldn’t get mine off even with the right star screwdriver. However I’m glad you made this video because I was able to understand how to get mine apart in what order and then back together again. Was also able to clean mine better than if I hadn’t taken some pieces apart. My boyfriend does the same thing with me. I was laughing at your interaction because I do that too with my man! LOL

  • @magmathon2
    @magmathon2 5 лет назад +4

    The one thing I noticed was you should have pulled off the grinder cover. You were so close. It's at the very bottom of the dishwasher where you pulled out that tid bit out. Under the cover is where a circle metal screen with a blade spins and cuts up any debris. This is where build up can occur causing you to starve your pump and burn it out. Thus no water to clean your dirty dishes. One important note is paper labels from new dishes can clog this metal screen doing major damage to the main water circulation pump. Remove all labels and check this if you notice a weird sound coming from the dishwasher.

    Just a mention, instruction manual "might" show how to remove macerator (thing that chews/collects food particles) - have to find mine. I know I replaced it 10 years ago and found lemon seeds and an Olive pit in there. At that time I was having trouble draining the dishwasher, was clogged by this garbage. Now, I am having a problem with the upper spray arm so have to disassemble as you've shown me, but will also again check the macerator as I suspect it has filled again - with garbage. Ugh. Thank you again.

    You have the exact same model as mine! Got it nearly 16-17 years ago. It had been working great, but then yesterday we noticed a puddle at the bottom because it wasn't draining. Had to look for over an hour before I came upon your video. Great video! :) Although the sound was a little low and hard to hear, the visuals were all I needed to be able to dismantle my dishwasher's insides. I was able to go ahead and fish around for gunk, put vinegar to soak down the tubes, and lo and behold! It drains again!!! You saved us the purchase of a new dishwasher, as I'm sure the repair would have been more expensive than a replacement. Love you guys! :)
