Great video. What a find for me as I have identical model ~20 yrs old. I have what sounds like an impeller rubbing, not high squeal as you'd suspect w/ bearings, but more of a rubbing/humming noise. After reassembly, I'll run another cycle & listen carefully (underneath) w/ bottom cover plate(s) removed. I don't see anything disturbing/suspect from the top-side. Fingers crossed for now.
Damn, you get a sub just for being so helpful. Easy peasy, no B/S, straight to it. We ruin so many things just by taking them apart incorrectly. Except now, I have to take the pump apart because I can hear something inside there.
Thanks. I thought I needed to buy a replacement dish washer, but 4 hours of cleaning did the trick. The filter had never been maintained over the 15 years I have owned the machine. Who knew? There was slime in all the passageways. It was brutal getting it all out, best I could. I can't imagine many home owners doing what all is required here. Some, but not many.
Thanks for the journey into my dishwasher. VERY helpful, especially with the center nut removal at the bottom (I would not have tried turning it to the right to remove) 👍
Thank you for posting it gave me the confidence to pull harder to remove the bottom cover. Of notee, some models you can remove the filter screen from the base by inserting gently prying all around the plastic on the screen edge. It comes off like a snug cottage cheese lid. There is only a slight lip..
Wonderful video and I'm in the middle of cleaning mine right now after it started making loud sounds. I have removed so many little pieces of broken plates, lemon and grapefruit seeds, chunks of plastic and straws, wads of lint, and other debris that was blocking the flow but I cannot for the life of me get the blade cover off. It's that very last cover that you are using the pick tool on to pull it up. For some reason mine just will not budge or lift up. Do you have any advice or tips? Edit: nevermind. I got my utility knife out and ran it down along the entire seal where that cover seats against the main housing. It was caked with detergent residue. I cut through it and then was able to remove it. It's unbelievable how much residue and debris was in here. Three blade gear was completely wound up with lint, too, which was preventing it from spinning. Now that it's all cleaned out I can't wait to reassemble everything and run it! It should be like brand new! 😅 LOL
it's crazy just how much work it takes to remove all this when so many other brands are just a twist off canister style filter at the bottom. Just absurd
So how do you get stuck debris trapped inside of the screen that’s underneath the spinner? I’ve soaked it, tried krud kutter, baking soda and vinegar and can’t seem to flush it out of there. It just circulates in there…..
great video, I wasn't getting noise but a errorcode 4-3. (see other vids on how to get error code). so I cleaned out the disposal and found some hard plastic, that i think broke off from other parts of the dish rack :(. I manually spun the motor from above as well as the impeller cutter you showed. put it back to gether and it has at least started a test washing..... wish me luck. Thank you.
I'm here because another video was horrible...and this is amazing!! Thank you!! Question...My dishwasher was missing the cover at 6:33. Everything else matched the video. How important would you say that little cover is? For extra info, I got this dishwasher free on marketplace and I'm taking a chance on it. It wasn't draining, which is why I'm here. Thank you!!
Just a follow up, it's running through a quick cycle right now and if it drains I think I'm golden! I also don't think the piece I was missing makes much difference, but we will see if it works or leaks or anything :) Thanks again!!!
@ngeltz hahaha prpbably you guys havw well regulated building codes ..im always amazed by the standards your plumbers etc are held to compared to my country ireland where all you need to be a plumber is a white van and a black marker. We don't regulate it enough so we end up with cowboys. I think its because we don't sue people when they fugg up a job we just say oh well. But we have very different machines in our kitchens. Like our dishwashers don't have blades in them we just take the food off and put it in the bin. We don't have blades in our sinks. We don't put our bath pipes under the floor. All sorts of differences. Good that you've got high standards but I tried reporting a fake bussines in usa and there were 10 different departments and none of them wanted to know ot gave a damn that this company is running scams in my country and not registered etc. Like my country you seem to have the same bullhead beaurocrats shuffling paper and saying " that's not my department" in a big circle of ineffectivity. Gah!
Great video! I so appreciate the you get right to the point without being too wordy. Great clear video as well! Thank you!!

You know that filter screen pops off with just a flat blade screwdriver after you have all the pieces out. Thank you for the helpful video
Hi that was a really helpful video - very well done and easy to,follow! Thanks so much!
Thank you for the video and for taking the time to explain the process.

That screen pops off. Just work a flat blade screwdriver around the perimeter of it and it'll pop off

@@jjmcg9688 the first time I ran it yes
But the second time it had standing water again … so I’m planning to replace it …

Thank you, it helped. Problem is I can’t get sprayer to lock on. Help
Are you talking about the bottom sprayer that spins?? If so, be sure the center post is not pushed down.... or the threads won't reach.
Thank you, super helpful
Thank you!
Thanks dude!
American machines are so complicated. In europe you just open the door take out the filter and then youre in the reservoirs
I suspect we Americans have an entire laundry list of safety compliance factors requiring approval from every federal authority in existence!
