I came across this video after finally landing on Black Templars as my army of choice and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Your summation of the hobby, why we got into it in the first place was a great reminder to keep going no matter how big that pile of shame gets. The painting tips were also extremely beneficial. I came here for painting tips and came out with a micro-lesson on life. Thank you!
@@villiamthegreat That's awesome! Don't worry about making it "perfect" - the most important thing is just having fun and learning as you go. Everyone starts somewhere, and you'll see your skills improve with each model you paint. I still learn and mess up, a lot! Hahaha. Can't wait to see what you create! And never be shy, always here to help!
I've liked warhammer for a long time and space marine II finally pushed me over the edge into actually buying some minis to paint, it's my first set and I'm going for black templars
Thanks so much man. I’m completely new to Warhammer, my fiancé got me a starter set for my birthday earlier in December which I only really wanted for the nids, but as far as the space marines go I only like the black templars. I don’t know if this sounds silly but I wasn’t sure how everything works with basic spacemarines turning them into something chapter specific, so this has helped to show me I can use them how I want and how to paint them!
@@gattsu2604 so glad I could help. If you need any further assistance with the painting side just comment on here or can message me on the discord. I’m always happy to help 😀
I really like what you did with your bases. Personally, I carefully paint some paste on and then get dirt and pebbles from outside and just cake it on.
@@IronDragon-2143 👌🏻 got to love finding stuff outside for basing. I can never look at sand, dirt and rocks now without thinking 🤔 Hmmm that would be great for bases.
After 25 years away from the hobby I came back and decided Black Templars through the Insta algorithm I’m here and subscribed this video just made me question my approach but in a good way Thanks for that 🤣

Great tutorial. The model turned out awesome. I am suffering from burnout at the moment, but not with painting. It's the game that's got me down. I'm playing a non-Ultramarine codex compliant chapter right now. The game is just bad. There's no other way to put it. Anyway. Awesome content as always. Thanks for sharing!
@@Paranormal-Stupidity thanks for the comments! And sorry to hear the game has you down, just remember to try and have fun and don’t take it too seriously because rule’s come and go 😃

I've never seen leather done like that before and it honestly blew me away. It looks so awesome and very easy to do. Thank you.
@@marellkow Glad you liked it! I did 2 coats of the contrast paint to get it the darkness I wanted. So it’s good for light or dark leather.

If I don't have Vallejo German Gray what citadel paint could i use?
@@Vraz077 I believe the closest match would be stormvermin fur or eshin grey
What varnish do you recommend?
@@kondor99999 I use vallejo premium airbrush matt varnish and gloss varnish.

@@campbellward4750 100% can use a brush. I was just lazy hahahaha I’d recommend dry brushing the top surfaces with the German grey
