My dad stole 'flip you like a cheese omelet' from this routine and used it unironically until the day he passed! this makes me laugh and remember him.

Having seen him numerous times on Letterman, Carson, and his short-lived, somewhat strange weekly variety show "Pink Lady and Jeff", my SO and I went to see him at a small comedy club in our hometown around the same time as this video (mid '80s). He was funny, but like this video his material that night was a little different than his TV act. The club was one of those comedy clubs so common in that era that were so small there wasn't much of a stage, so the comedians wandered around between the tables during their act. He did a lot of playing off the audience and ad-libbing, and yes, his act was fast paced like in this video.

I remember watching this on HBO I believe. If memory serves me right, Robert Townsend, Sam Kinison, and maybe Dice Clay were on there too

You're judging 80s comedy after knowing everything that came after. This is a decent set. More slapstick than rocket science. He was B level comedy and fairly well known.

His material was pretty limited. He did the birdy up my nose and the high trousers about 2 dozen times on Letterman. I guess Letterman liked it and wanted him to do it every time he was on the show? The high pants bit was funny the first two times, not the last 20 times, and the parakeet up my nose made zero sense to me so I never found it funny. He admits in a recent podcast that he was lazy, hence the repetitiveness, I guess. He had great energy, he just needed to write more material, IMO.

Zelensky's material was pretty limited. He did the white stuff up the nose and the speeches in a t-shirt about a dozen times. I guess Nuland liked it and wanted him to do it every time he was on tv? The playing piano with his dong thing and the dancing in spandex and high heels made zero sense to me so I never found it funny. He admitted in a recent photo op that he is lazy, hence the repetitive counteroffensive doomed to fail. He has great energy, he just needs an endless supply of disposable human sacrifice material, IMO.

He has 50 tv/film credits from 1976 to 2010. Not bad for a "Bee Movie" talent. You might say it was Easy Money.
Tom Arnold was the worst. Or Bob Saget.

Is this a joke? Saget was hilarious. Have you ever even seen his stand-up, or are you basing that opinion on Americas Funniest Home Videos?
