The first time I watched this was when stationed in Germany. We watched it over and over and one of the guys in my squad - Tom - would mimic him at odd times. Odd times, but for me, they were the best times of my life. While watching this, I pictured Tom doing the routine and that made me smile. Thank you for that smile.
Loved Bob Nelson and saw Him countless times in the 1980's on Long Island ... As you can see here , Just a couple of His influences were Jerry Lewis and Charlie Callas .. Nelson was an awesome Comedian and you would leave His shows with tears in your eyes from laughing ...
"I had.. what. I had what! I had what! I had what! what! what! WHAT! WHAT!? WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT??!!" LMAO!!!! That had me literally on the floor trying to catch my breath! XD
I saw the same show on--what was it, HBO or Showtime, back when they and The Movie Channel were the only major cable channels. He was also a bit comedy actor in the movie Kindergarten Cop. He also had a bigger role and starred alongside John Turturro in the movie "Brain Donors" (based on the movie "A Night at the Opera" by the Marx Brothers). I have it on DVD, because, although it's not well-known, it's absolutely hilarious (if you like slapstick comedy). He and Rowan Atkinson are two of the greatest clown actors still around today.
I remember seeing this, along with the greats Sam Kinison and Jerry Seinfeld on Dangerfields, broadcast then on HBO. Rodney Dangerfield really helped launch some of these guys. This small audience stand-up was awesome. Bob Nelsons boxing skit was the best... Jeff, Jeff, Jeff, WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? .... one of my favorite comedy lines of all times
I saw this live the night it came on the first time ever. I remember laughing so hard I almost died, I couldn't breath I was laughing so hard.THANKS FOR POSTING !!!
Man, I've never heard about Bob Nelson before. This guy is fucking awesome. And noticed that Key and Peele made a very similar sketch to that Football player introducing themselves
Always loved Bob Nelson. Check out another comedian named Charlie Callas. This character had a very similar psychosis to his. Charlie Callas used to appear regularly on the Dean Martin Roasts...
Bob Nelson as an overlooked, unsung MASTER of Standup. ... I'm totally amazed that I only discovered him today ... when there's so much Dane Cook-Amy Schumer quality SHIT on the market these days.
This was funny to me as a kid and I've never forgotten - I think every Jeff I meet as "Jiffy Jeff" at some point; but brain damage isn't funny to old man me.
A great comedian no matter how long it's been compared to now we're a comedian doesn't know how to say jokes they think they're just going to get by insulting a great president
Probably my favorite stand up routine ever. Classic!
It's one thing to tell a good joke, it is another to be able to completely entertain!! Nelson was one of the best at that.
Oh man you have to seen Foster Brooks roast ppl!!! He plays a drunk with perfection!!!
Bob Nelson is a gut buster. Laughed at it in the 80's and still laughing.

I have seen this one and the football routine at least a dozen times and I crack up every time.
Bob met Red Skelton years ago & Red advised him to take "the poison" out of his comedy!!! I got to open for him a few times. Words to live by!!!
This was funny the first time I saw it 40+ years ago and it's still funny.
Can you imagine the prep work it takes to come up with this a skit like this?
ayokay123 the fact that he played that character for over 7 minutes straight is brilliant
Thanks.I have not seen this in 25 years.Just as great now as it was then. Great Stuff.
Loved this guy in the movie "Brain Donors". Great lawyer/ambulance scene in it.
I was so lucky to see this bit at the comedy store in Hollywood. I wish you well sweetie. ❤

This is what I had to watch before we had cable.
I remember seeing this, along with the greats Sam Kinison and Jerry Seinfeld on Dangerfields, broadcast then on HBO. Rodney Dangerfield really helped launch some of these guys. I saw his video on tv doing the football routine back in the late 80's or early 90's. Just as funny now as it was then. Very funny man..
His duck routine is the best.

Memories...
OH. MY. YES.
"WHAT, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT" !!!
This seems to be in his transition period where he was trying to reduce the obscenities "fuck, fuck, fucking, fuck, fuck!!!!" and actually be funny.
Too funny👍
This guy is (or was) one of the funniest guys in the comedy world. Not unlike Charlie Calis. He even copies Calis a bit!
A great comedian no matter how long it's been compared to now we're a comedian doesn't know how to say jokes they think they're just going to get by insulting a great president
