Fantastic video walk-through. I have a '15 gx460. The biggest issue i had was releasing the air bags. The clips weren't visible from the fender well, but i fished them out from the interior. Also the wire harness and sensor on the front was connected to the top of the strut by a 5/32 Allen nut. Just break it free and it will come out by hand. Thanks again for the video.
The more I watch videos about Ironman 4x4 the more and more I am interested in the gear they sell.. I am on the research for my next best lift kit or perhaps tswap the more I am thinking about going Ironman.. not bilstein not some other company..
Great video! Which error indicator lights will come on the cluster before removing the fuses? My ABS, VSC TRAC, and VSC OFF lights are on. Are these the lights that should throw an error or do I have another issue?
if you havent found the issue already. Most of the time this is due to your gas cap being worn out. I had the same, ordered an OEM gas cap and it fixed all my VSC ABS etc lights
@@Ironman4x4America the allen bolt that came with it was too short and too long..the longer was the only one that can work by shortening it for about 10mm..thats fine right?
Is the front suspension active as well? I replaced my rear airbags with coils and shocks. I removed the driver height control and ride comfort switch thinking I didn't need it. If my front struts are active, i'll need to put the switch back to engage a stiffer sportier ride?
Thank you so much for the video. I have a 2006 prado vx and I'm trying to do the same thing from air springs to coil springs. What size springs and absorber would you recommend for off-road please?. Thank you in advance Sir.
Great video, I followed this when I performed my conversion on my 05. Removed the proper fuses? but now all the lights are on on my dash. Any additional ideas on how to clear the check lights?
Good Day, Thanks for sharing your great video, it’s a right timing, now I’ve decided to delete the air suspension and use the Ironman Airbag delete kit.hope its applicable on prado 2010, one more thing hope it’s ok if I’ll ask the brand and specs of the coil you installed. Thanks again!
Same here. Threads on both got damaged. No padding anywhere, just bouncing around the box loosely. Edit: I did call and they're sending me new parts. Easy peasy customer service which is awesome, but obviously this could be avoided by protecting them to begin with.
From their instructions: Do not attempt to adjust the spring seat while the vehicle is under tension as this may damage the threads. Should further adjustment be required this must be done with the vehicle raised and the wheels hanging.
On the GX460's I don't even mess with that. I simply just disconnect the air compressor in the rear to avoid having any fault lights on the dash. On GX470's yes you can pull it.
Can I do this to fix sagging? While retaining stock height? Also what was the black shock absorber you replaced the original one with the sensor with? Awesome video by the way/
I pulled the fuse and the relay and I couldn’t get my air suspension warning dash light to turn off. I plugged the relay and fuse back in, and it went off.
It is height adjustable up to one inch. More info here on the product page under "Specs". ironman4x4america.com/adjustable-rear-airbag-delete-kit-suited-forlexus-gx470-gx460/
The fuse you suggest to pull out will it affect the stock adjustable struts? I plan on keeping the factory adjustable struts and I hear that it is still functional after you do a airbag delete. Thanks in advance!
I have a 2016 GX460, the Ironman lift kit and airbag delete kit has installed last week. I removed the 50A AIRSUS and 7.5a AIRSUS2, I also removed the 20A AVS fuse under the steering wheel, dashboard shows check headlight system now. The check air suspension system warning goes back if I put the 20A fuse back. Can you please help me bypass the warning?
I am in middle of my install on gx470, I was able to levitate the nut washer to get the rear passenger delete kit installed, however the driver side is another story. Do I need a magical unicorn to assist with that night and washer? Any tips for that side would prevent a nervous breakdown. Thank you! 😊
Its still showing check air suspension on the dashboard even after removing the fuses Should removal of battery terminal work in removing that display? Thanks
Nice kit! Will this work on an 08 Toyota Sequoia Platinum? I want to lift it 3in and I got to delete my rear airbags first. If anyone knows of a good kit for my specific vehicle please let me know. Thanks in advance...
Unfortunately, this kit will not work on the 2nd gen Sequoia. This was made for Prado-based vehicles like the Lexus GX or the 4Runner. Our Tundra front suspension components will work just fine but for the rear check out this resource: www.tundrasolutions.com/threads/platinum-rear-suspension-options.171721/#post-1800513
I want to keep my "nasty' airbags because I love the auto leveling. I tow way more than I rock crawl. Purchased FCP for the front. Can't I keep the bags and just swap out the shock absorbers to FCPs?
Also, there is a trick to lift your rear if you like. Use washers as spacers to trick the height gauge. I, as well, like the nasty airbags ;) There is a video on this on youtube.
Is that key cone secured using any type of bolt? I bought a metal tech stage 2 and it came with 4 bolts ( 2 longer, 2 shorter), 4 washers, and only 2 nuts so i'm a little confused.

Yes I've watched several times. At 5:39 you say to go to the website and download the install instructions. I went to the website and only found instructions for the KDSS install.
I'm sure its been looked into. Not sure if the duty cycle of the factory compressor is high enough to handle the longer run times of airing up tires. You would have to look into the compressor specs and the pressure ratings of the system. Or just pick up a tire air compressor for $149. ironman4x4america.com/recovery-equipment/air-compressors-tire-accessories/

The rubber cone sits on top of the coil as an isolator and "secondary spring" as Toyota calls it.
Will these fit on the 4th gen 4runner?
Yes if you have rear airbags from the factory this kit will fit your 4th Gen and provide the coil spring perch needed to convert to coils.
