Yes! I have seen it on occasion, but never had the opportunity to own a house like that. I came close on a couple of good Craftsmen bungalows in Washington State though.
The bar was fabulous. I hope the new owners don't destroy it. Some of the older houses are so amazing with all sorts of frills we don't have today. I look through Zillow to see the older homes myself. Some of the older homes just knock my eyes out of my head. It makes me feel bad when those places are all messed up.
I am always AMAZED at your wealth of knowledge! Love watching and learning from you! Your ability to recall dates and names blows my mind! I am so jealous I wish I could have at least a quarter of the knowledge you are able to retain! Lol! Love your videos I learn something new from every one! Thank you SO much for sharing your knowledge and picking with us! You continue to improve my reselling business and knowledge by sharing just wanted you to know I appreciate you so much!
You are welcome to all the knowledge I have! I'm happy to share. It makes me feel good that a lot of people are having more fun, preserving and appreciating more cool old things because of this.
And I especially loved those houses in this video! I would have taken the bar basement one or the pink bathroom house either one! But george may have fought me for the bar basement one! Lol
Well.hail 😂 you're the best. Just visited Orlando trying to convince my husband to move lol. A girl can dream. Good to know there are plenty of treasures to be found.
Hi George I loved that house. The tile work and those cabinets. Love it all. I can always image the house all staged up. Thank you for sharing with us. We have had the weirdest winter. March came in like a lamb in my part of Missouri. It will go out like a lion.❤
🎉 The bar is magnificent! And the pink bathroom is stunning. Would be a cool project to purchase property’s and B&B to the reseller/Antique community for their travels. Thank you so much for braving the wind and sharing your knowledge of the treasures you find along the way.
I came close to tearing our built in bar out a few years ago but I decided I think it might be a selling feature when I sell. Gonna leave it. I love the third house, too. That bathroom is just made for bubblebaths!
Lol! The first city you were in Des Perez is pronounced like Da Pear! My husband used to live near there in his early 20’s. It tends to flood quite a bit in much of the area including St Louis because of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. The buildings in lots of the areas are charming to look at, but there are also a lot of run down and derelict areas there as well. We moved away from Missouri over 6 years ago. But still visit often with family and friends every year. Fun video!
I love when you find a piece of Treasure Craft and buy it! I bought my first piece about a month ago. A big orange divided snack tray that looks great in my 1970's Rec Room on the coffee table!
I almost went to that estate sale but chose to go downtown to a funky bar that was selling off all their memorabilia (The Way Out Club). I’m so sorry I missed meeting you!
I love how you take time to share your knowledge and describe each item you come across. It takes time to do that. You could get through these sales a lot faster without the video but I'm glad you take the time for your viewers. I just started watching you a couple months ago and I've binged watched all your videos already! :) Looking forward to each new one!
Thank you so much for showing the features of the houses. It’s like an added treat on top of the items you were looking at. It’s as if we are going to the estate sale with you and experiencing the whole thing. That last house was fantastic!
Good radio George I like the house with the BAR and the pink tile on the other house YOU DON'T SEE THAT VERY OFTEN IT'S USUALLY REMODELING AN TORE OUT TAKE CARE BE CAREFUL❤
In that last house, I saw the dining room China cabinet. I was just at a party and they had taken one like that and made a great liquor cabinet out of it. They bought it cheap because the trim on the doors was damaged. Added plate glass shelving inside for the glasses, battery fairy lights for lighting, and lots of bottles of booze on the bottom shelf. Millennials are finding creative uses for old furniture.
That's cool! I think if you find damaged but solid pieces, customization can be really cool. I'm the same with cars, don't change a good original but something that's needing rebuilding anyhow is up to taste
I loved that vintage dress you showed. I had those wedge heels huaraches in the late 70s ! I sure wish more resellers would buy vintage skirts and dresses 👗
The colorful wooden spoon (7:42) is a famous Russian Khokhloma (folk painting). There are plates, all sorts of boxes/canisters, cutting boards, etc. The ones with silver/greyish base (instead of gold) are older and more valuable - they might have Made in Soviet Union or Made in USSR stamps on.
Thank you for sharing this video, and I enjoy the additional info you added. Those houses were amazing. I had family that lived in St. Louis for awhile, and was able to visit them. What a great state. Great prices on everything. I collect lettuce/cabbage ware, so I fell in love with the little cabbage shakers. Green is my color, so I also loved the vintage apron, and the enamel tables. The cherry linen was adorable. You got a steal on that mirror. Love the vintage bathrooms. And that basement in the second house. Incredible bar and built in tv!!! That was amazing!
You have the best laugh hehehe. You are so enjoyable to watch and learn from. Thank you. Going to St. Pete in about a week. My friend The Candyman is going to be on a show that's filming down there. Maybe we'll run into you and Xeno down there. We live up by Ocala.
Those are some great beautiful homes. Love the stained glass windows and that pink and black bathroom. Keep you some antibacterial wipes in your car, and you could search through the mess and clean up afterward. 😊
I've found goofy stuff on the second day, not often but it happens. Walked into one house, walked around, and asked about "that stuff in the glass" on the desk. I'd asked about jewelry, but there never was any ...ahem. The "junk in the glass" was for sale if I wanted it - found a Lalique butterfly, a gold bangle and two sterling ones. Paid about $2 for the lot. Nobody had even looked at it. That third sale - except for the stairs, I'd want the house too! That tile work - I wouldn't have messed with it either.
Those were some really neat house's ! I don't care for pink, but that PINK & black bathroom was kind neat. ** Thanks for the info on the Lane Chest, I have my Mothers chest & thats nice to know. :~)
Russian wooden spoon, have one like that one. My parents had an old Servel gas refrigerator in the St Louis rathskellar bar. I love those nineteen-twenties Tudor St. Louis cottages with the arch door entry.
Hello. Always like your videos. Whe I saw that bar I was iike “who can build that or can I build that myself or will their be an instructional book or video?…1940 design bar right? If you know where to find info about it please let me know. Gracias
George, I have been trailing around after you on your travels like a lost puppy. It interests me that you are able to locate all these obscure little places so easily and so, I'm guessing, that for the man who regards old as gold, the availability of the technology of google maps or whatever tracking app you use must have been a game changer for you in terms of broadening the scope of your treasure hunting? So, without the new, the old might not get seen, right? Anyway, no matter how you get there I love following along and learning something new every single time. Thanks so much George.
@@TheAntiqueNomad Oh for sure - everything comes at a price. And, in a way, that is what your life is about isn't it? Working so hard to try and save the remnants of our past lives that new technology has so often pushed into obsolescence? Thankfully, people like yourself and others realise the cultural and historical importance of rescuing and preserving the many and varied items that reflect a place in time that is long gone. We can only hope that this interest in old things will continue long after we have gone and perhaps someone will build a huge sculpture made from old IPhones 🙂
I like the shorter format videos. Would enjoy if you put more of them out. I learn a lot from watching your posts. The nostalgia references (i.e. Brady Bunch) are fun too.
Hi George! I was yelling at the TV, "George! Pick up that Green platter thing!" The pretty red Hibiscus small bowl you picked up was the dip part of the Treasure Craft 2 piece chip/dip. The green round large platter part was covered with little cabbage salt and peppers. :((
Oh! That’s interesting, I haven’t seen the hibiscus set in the wild, and it didn’t come up when I was researching the book. I’ll have to go find one now
I'm with you -- I would take the house!! The bathroom tile, not to mention that in the kitchen, were unlike anything I have ever seen in my 72 years
Yes! I have seen it on occasion, but never had the opportunity to own a house like that. I came close on a couple of good Craftsmen bungalows in Washington State though.
St. Louis is full of original details in vintage Homes. We love our history here!
Scott of the Old Curiosity Shop says it gives him detached retinas 🤣😂🤣
That Masterpiece art auction game is really fun to play.
The first Sale was indeed a hoarder's dream.
The vintage bar kept me riveted. Great places! Always exciting! thank you!
Those last two houses where fantastic.

Totally agree!
And I especially loved those houses in this video! I would have taken the bar basement one or the pink bathroom house either one! But george may have fought me for the bar basement one! Lol
i second that !
I say the same thing when I was George he is totally amazing with everything thing he knows.
Look at that BAR !!!🙌🏻🙌🏻
Oh my gracious...the bar in the one house and then the black and pink bathroom in the other...wow...so stunning! Thanks for taking us along. ❤
Learing alot from you. Thank You
That basement bar was awesome!
Hi George, Heidi and everyone!
Stay warm!
those woven basket PURSES can definitely be fixed just like wicker i imagine
Well.hail 😂 you're the best. Just visited Orlando trying to convince my husband to move lol. A girl can dream. Good to know there are plenty of treasures to be found.

It sure is! I’d take one there
I too love that amazing bar basement!! I love the charm of the old homes when estate sale shopping!
In that basement teen area...wonder what was stashed up in the ceiling tiles by that Kid!
Thank you George for youe video!! Lots of fun indeed
I agree, the house was adorable

HI George! Love your knowledge on all the items! Love watching what you find!
Enjoy his videos,,,,,,,BUT!,,,,,,,,,,,,The quality of this video was very very poor quality in picture and sound. Maybe next time.
Oh! You were so close to where we live, wish I could have seen you!❤️🥰
Bar lookalike one in the shining
Those last two houses were fantastic! That bathroom was to die for it and so was the kitchen! And those stained-glass windows!!❤
Oh my! Both houses were amazing! The second place was gorgeous, with the original features. Take care darling, and say hello to Xeno xxx
I almost went to that estate sale but chose to go downtown to a funky bar that was selling off all their memorabilia (The Way Out Club). I’m so sorry I missed meeting you!
That house was so fun. So many memories and history. A lot of love considering how they kept the tilework.
Haven’t even watched this, yet. But… love the houses, behind you.
NO SHOT... found this video randomly and i live in ellisville, im right down the road
Who knows what is behind closed doors !
I loved all those gorgeous old brick homes in the last neighborhood! Do you think that bar was original? It looked very Art Deco❤️
I’m sure they built it in when the house was being finished
The French pronunciation of Des Peres. Is Day-Pair. Oh, and it means “Of the fathers”.
I love how you take time to share your knowledge and describe each item you come across. It takes time to do that. You are so welcome!i had to show how great they were
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Wow I wish I was there, I would be buying a bunch
Sometimes I just go to estate sales to see the inside of the older homes. Some are just jaw dropping gorgeous.
Love the basement too! What fun that must have been!
"They need a firehouse pole in this place." Lol!! Agreed. And you're right, that basement was quite fabulous.
Oh George, I couldn't have done that first basement. You rock!
Cool houses!👏🏻👏🏻thanks for taking us with you!
Good radio George I like the house with the BAR and the pink tile on the other house
YOU DON'T SEE THAT VERY OFTEN IT'S USUALLY REMODELING AN TORE OUT
TAKE CARE BE CAREFUL❤
That’s in my neck of the woods. Love that neighborhood.
PS. I love my acrylic butterfly vase. Thank you!
The bar in the 2nd house is AWESOME and the black and pink bathroom in the 3rd house I love!

Really impressed with your knowledge.
But I got a question… who do you think would win in a fight… Real Nifty Vintage or The Crazy Lamp Lady?
I loved that vintage dress you showed. I had those wedge heels huaraches in the late 70s ! I sure wish more resellers would buy vintage skirts and dresses 👗
I totally agree! It’s hard to find sizes that fit modern customers though
@@TheAntiqueNomad Agreed 👍 I’ve tried on skirts that I was sure would fit. Nope… Back then a size small was a 24 inch waist.
That basement was AWESOME! kitchen and bath in 2nd house was beautiful

Are you coming to CHICAGO!!!??? Let us know would love to meet you guys!!! ❤
I hope to get there later this year
No way!!! That’s where I grew up. Yes you pronounce it the French way De Pear. Wow Antique Nomad in my childhood ‘hood
I love seeing the houses. My framed die cut advertising picture arrived today~quick all the way from you in Florida to Portland. I like it! :))
Fun houses to see. Loved the basement bar, and some of the old tile work!

Oh, you were really close to my house only about three hours away. I am north west of St. Louis Missouri. Have a safe trip to Florida George.
Thats the only place in America I have been…St Louis ( HQ to Build-a-Bear)
Love that pink and black bathroom though. That last house was terrific for sure. Thanks for letting me tag along and see too. You have a great day
That’s my kind of estate sale. I would have been doing a little more rescuing than you 😁
Oh a Treasure Craft flower. Very pretty.
I love that bar as well.
That house was beautiful. I love that old tile.
OMG the kitchen is BEAUTIFUL on last house
George I'm in agreement with you on the house it was great!!! You did find some good things, be safe going home 🏠😃😃😃
The bar was amazing, but that pink and black bathroom...to die for!
George that happy birthday glass tray card. I have a Christmas card like that one still in the box. It is really cool.
❤ binge watching your videos. I always want to go thifting after!!
OMG THOSE HOUSES were so much fun !! thank you
Always fun to watch!
Thanks for bringing us along! That bar was amazing!
Yes it was!
omg I love watching ur videos! ur so smart about vintage antiques i love it!
Those interiors are great. Hope noone is stupid enough to mess them up. Sick of seeing people screw up old homes
I buy glasbake when ever I find it for in home use! I really like it
You were in my area. And it Despere is pronounced depare by us who live here.
Those houses, wow! They don't make them like that anymore😊
I LOVED the bar. Coolest thing ever !!! The last house was very cool as well. Wouldn’t it be fun to decorate . Thanks for another fun day, George.
Such cool looking houses!!
Wow that bar!!!!
Nice video!! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Yes, loved that bar George! Love these estate sales videos! Thanks for sharing!
Glad you like them! I hope to get to do more soon

i loved Masterpiece as a kid! great vid george. love cool old houses
Same here! I hadn’t thought of that game in years
I like the shorter format videos. Would enjoy if you put more of them out. I learn a lot from watching your posts. The nostalgia references (i.e. Brady Bunch) are fun too.
What Fun...just fabulous places.
0:18 it is pronounced “De Pear” Missouri.
Great video, thanks George! That bar and then that last house were fantastic!
