Oh my goodness...I'm about 3 hours drive from that show! Hopefully I can drive down and meet you!!!! If not, best of luck and may the Buckeye sales gods be with you! LOL
George, not only do I enjoy your videos, I also enjoy your verbiage describing the antiques and collectibles. Today was especially noteworthy, as I've not heard of the damaged inside of a bowl as being disturbed. I love it! And I love you George. You are so precious.
Another great video! Don't mind that I'm repeating myself in many of your videos, but, Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Can not express how wonderful it is and how grateful I am!
Stayed over in Spokane with a relative every single drive to school...and had a sad good experience there 2 years after my mom died at Sacred Heart, 8 years ago, as the life flight from here (and second one at the end) was last time I saw her 2 years later, the absolute best male nurse in ICU took me to her room and it was a perfect place to go to heaven from..wonderful city and dessert pine long needle Ponderosa trees. In all looking around I had the feeling of....this is the Pdx feel of 1986...so glad to have it validated...see the mourning image and see that I am not so far from so much from what my family calls the "stoof" stuff level. This was absolutely wonderful as they all are...thanks soooo much. We did wear the mocks...beaded or not..back then for inside shoes a lot didn't we...that is so fun..it is all just a both beautiful collecting and decorating thing...maybe if you were lucky enough to get an old table or hutch your grandparents had,,,or 20's glass pin and needed or wanted and still use it.....we kind of fall in a category all our own here...just another great great one...hoping to plan a loop there for your show and all pdx..next year. So glad to have more explore in me...and a goal for this time...this year wow..snow again...we just keep getting it but it pits off the lawn...take care. PS..I stayed at Quality in for Very Good price...not the old Holiday Inn city one mom and I stayed in when looking at schools but still great to see huge 20's brass chandeliers in there and just have safe clean sleeps. PSS Always more..Spokane has Lilac Days and wonderful ones like NW and I have a different Salsbury Lilac teacup shape with them and the one to left of Easter egg looks just like it but different shape...I love this minutiae.
My mom was born in Spokane & her family has a homestead there (a huge old farmhouse). I remember going to the World's Fair there in 1974 (I was 10 years old) & staying at the farmhouse. Such fond memories. I remember I broke a jam jar in a store (that I wasn't supposed to be touching in the first place). My mom had to pay for it & it was like $50, which was a lot back then. She always had it in her kitchen as a reminder, LOL. Anyway, it's nice to see parts of Spokane again, thank you! Safe travels! xo
How excited I was with you, to see you pull out treasures realizing, "Yes, doable, that too, oh I'm swooning in this plethora of purchaseable prices!" 🤗
Buy a trailer & hitch 'er up to your van, for heaven's sake George! Those great prices on those pretties, omygoodness, wowsers 😍 That green ball radio sure was a blast from the past! I had a donut radio & my sister had a ball radio.
New Zealand here .Love your channel. It is so full of interesting information and amazing antiques. I find the trends and pricing most informative as it gives me an indication of what may be the upcoming trends of collecting in New Zealand. Just an aside , "the van is stuffed" means that it is past being repaired in New Zealand.
WOW great shops. If I ever make it to that area, I will check out those places for sure. I love your humor, 'she's disarming'... funny. And now you're in Ohio, amazing.
My great grandfather was mayor of Spokane back in the early 1900s, I've never stopped to sightsee there,so this was a special video for me! The town caught fire and mostly burned down and the family moved shortly after, but not before he met my great grandmother whose family owned a very swanky hotel that catered to the Klondike gold rush crowd. A few family heirlooms have been preserved that were commissioned for the hotel by the Lefevre family, which was the family of my great grandmother.
Enjoyed the video of the shops in Spokane. Thanks for the tour! Like you said, you will have to go back again one day, they have good items. You will have to continue the tour for your subscribers and educate us further.
Hey George! You ever get to the Gainesville FL area? I live there, and I'd really like to see a video of you attacking this area. It's rather interesting, mostly because of the University and what Goodwill gets because of it. Take care
Love the Lucky Lager stuff! I once lived where I could see the neon cursive “L” from my window in Vancouver. I found out years later that my grandfather had worked there. ❤️
Frame 15:39 The Indian drummer in the middle. My Dad got one of those for me when I was a toddler. I thought it neat Until it started flicking its tongue in & out. Then it let out & awful noise that scared the pee-waddling out me & I ran off screaming. ( so I'm told )
I lived for a short time in Spokane in the early 1990's. On my 30th birthday I got a small tattoo (a flower) on my ankle at a parlor in Hillard. I don't remember all the antique stores, though.
These are truly awesome stores. WOW, Thanks for taking me along in your travels this was fun. Can't wait for the return to the ones you missed. Have a great day
Great video as always! Looking forward to Springfield this weekend. The weather is supposed to be crappy on Saturday. I think we are coming up just for Sunday. See you then!
So surprised to see where you were shopping! Thanks for the kind words. Bet you can’t guess what the lovely Art Deco Vintage Merchantile & Auction building was originally…I sure was surprised when Melissa told me. (PS: Spokane actually has at least 3 antique shopping districts.)
Where is the third area? I used to think South Monroe but I thought that was mostly gone? Thank you so much for your help btw! I would love to know what that building was, it looks like a 1930s grocery store
@@TheAntiqueNomad I was thinking Monroe, but haven’t been through there in quite a while. There are a few places farther in the Valley, two which are quite large. Not right by each other, though.
I love that kitty cat you petted. I love animals so much it's tough to quit petting them & walk away. I have an Abingdon vase, which was my dad's mother's. The white gown that you thought might be someone's wedding dress was probably just an evening gown (or formal) a lady wore to an important event.
You found so many treasures… hope you had room for them .You may have to repack the van before you get on the road again. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us as always
Hey George - sorry we missed you last night. Hope you were doing something fun. Loved the video. It was great to see the wedding collectables. I have a client who collects wedding cake toppers. I found one in a pick at a haunted hoarder house but somehow left it behind! Could have kicked myself because stuff was so cheap there. I have been looking for one ever since! I have never even seen one in a shop. BTW did you get my letter and pics?
Hi George, with shops like those, I wouldn’t want to go to any others. Great pieces at great prices. Are you able to post your upcoming show schedule? When are you coming back to Michigan?
Good evening, George! I spotted a pond boat next to the green round/ball radio. Those are something I really like. That one would've probably come home with me, too. There looked like a set of Nippon open salts in the case with the Murano piece. Those caught my attention. I liked the pair of wicker chairs in the garden area. I have one of the "Wizard of Oz" books...somewhere. Caught a glimpse of a model of a cruise liner. I've been wanting a model of the QE2 and one of the original Carnival "Mardi Gras". There was a black cat on the shelf with the Belleek pieces that really did catch my eye. Great items in those shops! Thanks for the take-along!!!
Good evening! I do love pond boats, I had an official one as a child but i enjoyed the ones I made more. Wonder where they all went? The wicker chairs are one of the styles I like best, I also appreciate the flat and squarish variety. I have not been in view of a good ocean liner model in awhile, I see a lot of rigged sailers but not so many of the others! I'm glad you had fun with this one
LOL There are two of us Cheryl Ross' on here tonite🙂 I may go in at some point in time and change my RUclips name a little, but Cheryl Ross is my real name, also.
stop by PORTSMOUTH OHIO ? right on the river GOOGLE our PAINTED Historical MURALS ..& street of ANTIQUE SHOPS and have a famous footer at THE DAIRY BAR ..
@@TheAntiqueNomad You has made a comment about Easter eggs hiding among the other treasures, I was just using the other definition of a computer "easter egg" as a fun comment, it was so long ago. I don't remember your comment exactly. Just having fun!!
Awesome vintage tour . Really enjoyed n learned from the lovely video. Love the Glaxo (GLAXOSMITHKLINE ) , artfact. ( as I have worked at Pharma company) Enjoy I have started collecting coffee mugs , with logos n inscriptions in them from different companies. If you get a Burger King cup and can transport to me . Would love to buy it. As Burger King is just 500meters from my front door , but they are not selling any mug 😥😥 By now I have collected Starbucks, Lavazza, Disney, Nescafe, Nescafe Sunrise , RAGE coffee, SLAY coffee ( coffee waste materials) , Country Bean, BARISTA, GRUNER, SLEEPY OWL, aamara, V S Mani & Co. Hi all! I’m sourcing in Appalachia today for next weekend’s Springfield Ohio antique show so hope to see you in chat but it may be comments later
Do you realize that your starting videos has problems with the syncing of your voice. Your lips are moving butbthe words happen seconds later.
See you at Springfield

RUclips is great for me because I had this running dialogue in my head already and now I get to say it out loud ;)
07:16 Best thing in the whole video! Except for his orange buddy later on.
That back door was just screaming out for WD-40 😆
I love it when you arrange things and put things right. It just shows how much you care.

Thank you for sharing your vast and varied knowledge, I love learning from you.
You are an incredible historian! Your humor is so dry and funny. Great to see you in the NW.
Never have been to Washington, someday it would be fun to roadtrip and antique along the way!
Really enjoyed thrifting in Spokane. Would love to be there in person.
It's a great place to go
Tip: you could put stuff on top of your van, and put a hitch and trailer behind your van!
Boy would you be loaded.
I overdo as it is or else I’d take your advice!
Just tongue in check comment. Lol.

Such a interesting antique crossroads
Thank you so much for featuring Hillyard! I have not been over that way. I am looking forward to going!
Have you ever thought of pulling a small trailer? You sure could have used one!
I have, but honestly the van being full probably keeps the "death pile" from growing because I have to be more selective
Very interesting George!😁❤
The USS Crux Life Ring is a genuine artifact from a WWII era liberty ship.

I'm making time to get to this shop today. Even though my wife has cat allergies.

The Camel said something in Hebrew on the other side, I could not read it due to the angle and the letters not being all in the same darkness.
