Thank you. I just realized my error trying this earlier today . I attached the rope to the spring without recoiling the spring. Will try again in the morning. I will remove the rope , then recoil the spring and then attach the rope again. From sunny New Hampshire ....tomorrow is another day. God Bless.

Are those rope recoiler riveted on the top of the mower? My B&S looks like it has rivets..Thanks

We have a 10 hp B&S engine on a 5500 watt electric generator. Manual pull rope . Broken pull rope . End cover containing spring and retracted pull rope is pop riveted to the motor end not screwed or bolted to the motor. Do we drill off the pop rivets to install a new rope? Any danger dropping drilling shavings into the motor or generator windings. Need help. Thanks.

I always pull the whole front cover off instead drilling out the rivets
