Your a credit to our community and this is excellent instructional video and it has spared me a serious headache. I really appreciate what you did hear so thank you very much!
Missing the throw out bearing I think it’s called. Between 3rd and 4th gear. It fits over that special D shaped washer with the snap ring. Also missing the oil slinger plastic piece on the front side of 4th gear that actually lubricates that bearing and the needle bearing between 3rd and 4th gear. Just a heads up for anyone else who’s rebuilding their m5od. I only know this because I followed these videos to rebuild mine and took special care to pay attention to detail when taking my trans apart. All in all pretty solid video and saved me money and time. Thanks
All the docs I see just call it the the main shaft thrust bearing. The throwout bearing is also a thrust-type bearing but it's in the bell housing between the clutch fork/slave cylinder and the pressure plate.
@@polymetric2614 I’m not exactly sure of each name, I just know what the bearings were called when I had to order them online. Different places called them different names. Either way, there are lots of bearings to pay attention to
Instead of the brass punch we usually use the handle of the hammer. Also if you taking put a punch or center punch into the center of the counter shaft you can lift it up with one hand while you put the bearing in with the other on the front side...

@@xxv8539 yes, but the info I needed was pretty much there… I would’ve done the video much differently

You done great... alot pressure camera, a class, or a group of people, plus explaining while assembly... a great job.
Thanks again, very helpful and useful!

Also if you use a little assembly lube your needle bearings will stay in place better
doesnt the tail shaft assembly require some type of lube or trans fluid ? i just replaced the rear seal on the tail shaft and it was dry
hey, on that front retainer, There is 2 seals but do you use any RTV to seal it or a gasket?
THANKS
where is the thrust bearing that goes between 4th snycro and input shaft that fits around the washer with flats under snap ring?
Not in the transmission rebuild kit I guess

Took long enough.
