The Reverse Anti-Puzzle Game

Veggie Quest, a somewhat-cursed graphics puzzle game where YOU BUILD THE LEVEL, THE AI SOLVES IT. You want it to take as long as possible.
The base concept has been seen before, but I haven't seen it extended to other characters/multiple targets/gamestates before, and it really does seem like this is a big innovation. So yeah it's cool.

Honestly this is top tier gameplay storytelling. Games that incorporate humor into actual gameplay loop is amazing. Most comedy games rely only on writing to deliver the humor.

Sequence A331968 on the OEIS seems relevant here. It gives the longest possible path on an n X n grid that doesn't touch itself orthogonally. The results for the 16 X 16 and 17 X 17 grid were apparently just found last year, so clearly it's a hard problem.

Do you know how to find them ? On OEIS, it only shows examples for 1*1, 2*2, 3*3 and 4*4

this did make me realize that ai will probably be pretty deceptive in online multiplayer in the future. I can imagine MMOs filling up dead servers with them as player count wanes

Characters are synchronized to reach goals at the same time. Meaning you can just buld the longest path for one while disregarding the other.

They are just lazy. Every character always does nothing if this doesn't increase the time to beat the dungeon. That is why they usually arrive at the treasures at the same time.

@@alansmithee419 Indeed. Imagine a character that can throw any other character from an adjacent tile to any tile in some radius. Or a character that cannot move at all and has to be pushed by other characters sokoban-style.

This reminded me of the dungeon building puzzle game from Zachtronic's Last Call BBS. Though in that one you had to design a dungeon such that all monsters were at the ends of corridors, and chests had their own rooms, rather than maximizing a completion time for characters to move through it.
Definitely seems interesting.
