Remember kids: beauty is everything if you're just trying to get laid. If you're looking for a true relationship: there is FAR more important things than physical beauty.
Anyone reading this has already learned the hard way, or is going to.. but I'm trying to prevent the latter.
I know it's hard to believe that sex with a super-hot super-cute girl can get old.. but it always does.
*Personality and values are EVERYTHING. Looks just have to be good-enough. Most hot people never develop their morals because they never have to. They just have the looks, fake their personality, and have zero morals. A good personality and good morals are the most important thing in life.*

I think what they meant was that in the eye of divorce court it might not hold up. They didn't want to give him any hopes as to what could happen, mostly because legally they can't give legal advice but also divorce court is a whole separate game where, unfortunately, sexism exists sometimes. But I mostly think it's because it's really not their job to tell people what to do legally, especially when they're at work being recorded.

And I also don’t think the detective should have said that it’s been 4 years (as that doesn’t matter) but I think he was saying it to the fact that the husband was reluctant to have her near the kids, and that the detective was saying she had been with the kids for 4 years.
But I agree with the husband in being concerned, and she has shown she will hurt the kids if she needs to…in order to get what she wants.

The second she started speaking my ex started screaming over her and the friend she brought along and tried to physically attack them. The next day her lover came to my house at her behest to try to convince me his wife was just insanely jealous and always accusing him of being unfaithful. I was living in Redding and going to the community college there at the time this happened. I went to a city council meeting a couple days after she went missing and her husband took the stand there, holding their son and sobbing, he begged for her captors to release her and said how much he loved her and wanted her to come home, mentioning also that their kids needed her before he sat back down because he couldn’t talk anymore he was so upset.
    Really really sad.
A few months before this at the college a student was walking to her car after a night class and was ACTUALLY almost abducted.
It scared the hell out of everyone at the college and in the local area, especially young women. We all thought that people were going around kidnapping blonde girls. Night class students were walked to their cars by security and the campus was really pressing about reporting anyone strange.
When she showed back up we all knew it was a scam. Pretty much all of Redding would talk about how she was a liar and a cheater. Years before her ex came forward the whole city was already assuming she had run off with some guy but had to come back because her family wasn’t giving up the search. The local facebook pages were full of Sherri Papini memes.
My guess is that she wanted to take advantage of this sadly not unheard of thing that happens in Redding and use it as an excuse to run off with her ex and get away from her family for a bit without them thinking she was a deadbeat.
Gross and sad. I’ll always feel bad for her husband. I’m assuming that after she came back he had put a few things together, but at that city council meeting he was obviously a very distraught and depressed man. I hope she enjoys jail.

I appreciate they could have shown a little more feeling, but please, they are cops, not kindergarten teachers. It's okay to be clean and have boundaries. They couldn't tell the husband what the wife said/etc. Nor can they advise him what to do.

I had an ex who was very much like this. Not to the extent of faking a kidnapping but would slap herself until her cheeks were red and then claim I hit her so I would go to jail and she would hit the bars and hook up with whoever she could. She was a very attractive woman so it worked for her for a while. Eventually one observant cop caught on and arrested her for filing a false report. During this period my life became a total hell and literally drove me to panic attacks and depression. I'm a very docile person who was raised to never hit a woman. Thank God I was eventually proven innocent but the damage she did lives on to this day. My son is 29 and hasn't spoken to his mother since he was 16. She lives only a few miles from him. I still encourage him to reach out to his mother but he wants absolutely nothing to do with her. I can tell it has a very negative effect on him. People if you get a divorce and there are children involved please don't use the kids as pawns in your battle. It WILL come back to haunt you. Never bad mouth your ex to your kids. It hurts them more than you'll ever know.

I believe in God, indeed I do, and I know my faith has been growing a lot.
I know only I can solve this problem, and I dont want to have my vision blurry... Soo I decided to have 2 weeks break from they bough.
I'll put things this way, the first girl, I have been with her for 5 years, almost 6. She has vallues, a father figure, and catholic, always ready to help others. But I guess I started losing my interess in her because I was second guessing if she was/is the girl for me. Yes, she is consistent, she helps, and have only slept with me. But there is another side, were I got really disturbed. She has some ego problems -like the truth/logic is on her face, in a clear way, and she is soo proud... Keeps denying... She has entitlement issues... And the thing its a great issue, is the lack of critical thinking... I dont know I feel that I cherish her, I like her, but I dont know... her parents have spoiled her very much, Im not sure if even I like her, and we have a strong bond, if she has the capacities for a marriage, in terms of living a real life... Sometimes she gets hostile, and say passive agressive things to try to hurt me... soft.. But Its not nice...I am afraid that her ego issues, a litle entitulement, a bit lack of understanding others point of views, and her "princess" lifestyle may be a problem in the future. Sometimes I feel like its acting, or not 100% deep.. And the fact we sin easylly, And that is my fault too..
I mean, you must know how to clean, raise children, be smart, and feel faith
We also have sexual sined for a lot of years.. And This is on me, but I cant or have extreme dificulties "controling my lust around" her
Its a "At least we are in a relationship", "When we get marry it will stop be a sin" mentality
I mean she is catholic but I dont know how to say, but sometimes I feel like she lacks some intelectual and deepness in some ways...
But for real, she has values, understands (or makes me believe) that sex is not for any person, she cherish her intimacy, but its superficial in some ways... It the past she had showed some issues I trully didnt like, Ego problems, superficiality, some arrogance, two faces when we were with her family or friends... Sometimes I fear that I may have created a bound with a girl I should not
And I gave her time because of that, but, even she is not super hot, she only slept with me, shes caring in her way, and has strong values... But somethings she doesnt have personal opinion? I feel like its missing critical thinking, and empathy in some ways... But she is resilient, and consistent, and dont let go easy.
The second girl, I have met her while working. To be honest, I was tired of my ex girlfriend ego issues, that lead to strong fights, for stupid things..
And I swear that I have tried to stop looking at this other girl, trying to stop conecting to her... But as things went wrong my ex girlfriend, things were going fine with this other girl
I respected the fact that she was working, she liked psycology, she was simple, always ready to help, sweet and nice in many ways.
I tried not to, but indeed she melted my heart in some ways.
Than, I found out she smoked weed, drinked badly, believed in astrology, piercings... welll, I did not judge her, because I have been there too... I had my past where I smoked, and grown a lot of weed, and got drunk sometimes, I had my past were I could not sense God. And was suposelly and atheist... But thanks to God I found my way out. And I wanted the best for her. Recue her in some ways. Some things were smart, intelectual, easy going. Others I was a little bit riscky and imprudent. For example, I was not even smoking, but I did one thing for her. I would smoke with her, if she promissed that we would not smoke for a week. Then I would smoke with her, then we do not smoke for two weeks... Then we dont smoke for a month... Then two months... Then 4 months... And now? We dont even want to smoke. And we had the chance, we just putted that asside and pray. Thanks God.
I feel like, with the help of God, and its mainly God, I dived in the ocean of her problems. Of her issues...
I gave her flowers, on the first day by surprise, when she showed me her face for the first time with no piercings. For showing her that the way God naturally made her is the most beautifull.... I made her understand that astrology is deceiving, and dangerous, and that makes more sense to love and be guided by the creator of the stars, that be guided by the stars themselves.
In the beggining, I was craving my sexual sins and so did she, we slept togetter, had lots of sex. THAT IS A PROBLEM. The only thing I regret. But then we got above that sin. For my surprise we did. I cherish our intelectual, loving, funny godly talks. She doesnt fit with the world either.
Now she does not smoke, nothing, not even tobaco. Not getting drunk.. She is studying. She is following God. Goes to the church and prays. She stopped sleeping around and seems to have better bondaries. Understands sexuality.. No piercings... And I love to see her happy, healty, with a future.
She quited her social midia, and Im gona be honest, I trully wish her the best.
We are similar, I could say I love her in some ways. She is very smart, inteligent, nice to people, empath most of the times expecially with kids and the ones in need. I feel like she feels things in a deeper way. And I am not joking. I feel very very bad for her, because its not her fault her father is not in her life, and that she has a extreme selfish narcissitic manipulative mother, who even though ther spiritisms...
Its not her fault that she ended up in the world getting used by guys, and having fisical, emotional and spiritual damages... Trying to fulffil her heart with lust, pleasure, bad companies, psychedelic trips...
And I have been there too so I trully wanted to help her... I feel that she is similar to me... And we have a" push to the right way efect" on each other. Even sexually and that amazes me. Sometimes i feel I grow in faith with her, we even pray the rozary.
But for real, I also feel I cant ignore the signs.
-50/70 minimum people she has had sex with before at 22years old
      Huge mother issues
      -Not a father figure
      -Having lots of guy "friends"
      -porn
      -Drugs
      -alcool
      -Emotional instability, mood swings
-tantrums, and Anger issues. Trully anger issues
-Self harm, she cutted her self in the past, beated herself
      -Avoiding responsability
-Sometimes, unespectes selfishness, she has some issues understanding other points of view
Im not dumb. I cant spot all the Red flags.
I can realise that I may be blind to the truth. And probably even I find her
      -inteligente
      -smart
      -deep talk
      -understanding
-helper, knows how to clean, and economically responsable
      -likes to read
I mean I like her very very much... But I feel like she may be to broken.. She may not trully pair bond... Psychological damages... Traumas... I dont want my kids to know her mother had sex with multiple partners, sometimes at the same time...
She is similar to me, I dont judge her, I dont make her feel bad, but I cant ignore she had 50/70 minimum guys with her, and the damage that that type of promiscuity makes...
Most of all, I am afraid that she is a temptation between me and my ex girl? She still loves me, but I know she is getting tired too...
And she may not be that smart, that inteligent, and have problems but at least I never question her love, and I know she only had sex and trully bounded with me.
I wonder what Jesus would tell me...
"You are right, the first girl is materialistic, and those ego problems are gona ruin you, in the future, she needs to seek god and put in practice genuilly. You were young and rushed in sex and its a bound you should break. And keep with the ex sinner girl because now she is redeimed, she is new and the bond of love will be stronger. The ex sinner girl makes you grow with her more than the other you know that"
"Keep the first girl, who trully loves you , and always have been there for you, love her, start chasity values, lead in a example of god, do the right thing for her, dont follow tempation, you are blinded by love and you have lust the sinner girl, watchout for not loosing the love of your life. Dont be fooled, even if she seem to have changed be prudent and love the one who was here before"
"Leave them both, not good for you"
"Leave them both, regret your sins, you dont deserve neither one of them."
Sometimes I feel more like the last one... Because I was divided in my feelings and that is messed up
I dont want my insecurities to make me believe she is dommed because of her past. That is not what Jesus would do. If I dont forgive others, how will he forgive me? I also grow and feel way saint around her.
I dont want to keep a bond that may not be trully good for me, of my ex girlfriend. What does it matter if shes only slept with me, but follows the world and God in practice is not the first priority? Material world
I dont want to be decceived and ignore the fact that this girl is too damaged, broken, god forgives but will she sin again? We all do fall, with all those serious issues i know its almost 100% sure Im gona get hurt.
I dont want to have messed up my pair bonding with my ex, and ahe really is the love of my life
I dont know what to do. I want to follow Gods will. God knows its true. I may sin, I may not be perfect, but i seek him and ask for forgiveness. I want to submit to God fully. I wish and trully think that may be one of these girls. And I am soo afraid of not understanding the signs, or interpret bad, or even that even God loves me Im a sinner not in grace and he wont show me the signs...
But I think its more about I understanding them
Of these girls, I would like to marry the one God trully has for me.
I dont know what to do...
Thanks for your time. God may bless you, greeting from Portugal

I know someone like her. She claims that every ex she has was abusing her, but if you look closely they’re each paying one of her bills. Car, phone, groceries, whatever it is. Each has a different one. On top of that she was getting free rent from women in need. Was kicked out for having men over. Once she told me that her current boyfriend at the time was going to kill one of her exes. I hadn’t put it together at the time, but she was straight up setting him up to commit murder. I don’t talk to her anymore because she is so conniving and pulled similar stunts trying to get a few of us fired at work and at the same time trying to convince us to stage a mass walk out. She’s out there.

I never knew what was wrong while growing up at home, not until I was in my 30s and living on my own. I thought early on that I was just naturally melancholic or maybe even mildly depressed. I knew narcissism then as just a concept I've read in books but never realized that I lived and raised by one. It's still hard up to this day. I wanted to be a good child, to have a good relationship with my parents but at the same time I knew things are going to be the same if I allow to regain contact.
Imagine your mother, telling how ugly (physically) you've become over and over again. That you cause embarrassments to her. And she always do it so covertly. Only when it was just the two of us would she say such things. Around other people, she'd act like the caring proud mother. She'd even go to the extent of (humble)bragging my accomplishments to people but expect she'd shot you down real bad, just wait till it's just the two of you.
I remember I was in grade school when I heard her first deeply hurtful comment. That is discounting her usual comments of being a pain in the ass, being useless, etc. It was a weekend and she's just been back from grocery shopping. She was so angry that a mother of my classmate approached and told her that she should feed me better or bring me to a doctor. She blamed me on being so thin and extremely underweight. I was eating healthy as far as I knew but even then I was already suffering from chronic pains and illnesses. Neither her nor my father brought me to a doctor to see what was wrong. Then teen years arrived and acne breakouts came along. Again no help except being told how ugly I've become.
When I was in college, I rarely went home except during breaks. I finally felt free being away from home and not being constantly judged. Well for a short while.
As a young adult, I was thankful I finally became financially independent and could live on my own. But my mother would constantly find ways to get back to her old routine. She's acute at creating dramas, of guilt-trips, of unloading her toxicity. She'd even sulk when I bring them to vacations like I'm not allowed to be happy. I tried to talk to her about these but she had always ended up crying, of course denied everything, then she won't eat or talk. Then my father would always agree with her. I've always been the bad guy. My sister also thinks I am the spoiled brat in the family and since I've stopped talking to our parents, I'm also the black sheep which I find hurtful. I thought my sister would see my pov better. I am the youngest child but I never really got my ways as a kid. It was always an outright no or just plainly neglected. My sister actually got more help from our parents growing up. And a black sheep? I never brought any problems to the family. It was my sister who brought financial problems actually. And I remember, giving my first annual bonus and savings so my parents could pay off the debt. Occasionally and sadly, my sister acts like my mother . Judgemental, blames everyone but herself, and put more weight on how other people (except me) see her.
I'm sorry having to share all of these here. I wish everyone who has lived with a narcissist to find peace in their hearts and head. I want to find my peace too. 💜

OMG reading your comment, well I think we have the same mother. My mother wore a mask in public and was very cruel to me as well as my siblings. I was molested by her older son, my half brother from a previous marriage. He's 14 years older than me. He molested me from the time I was out of diapers and who knows maybe sooner I don't know. Anyway, when I was in kindergarten I went to her and told her about it. She turned to me and said well, he's always been weird. And that was it.
On any given day she would scream at me and sing this song that I think was popular in the '70s OR '80s called the b****** back. I was the b**** and I was the troublemaker. She also called my brother a gay pansy because he was shy and fat ass because he was husky. It just went on and on.
Never did she ever do this in front of my father. She did however accuse my father of cheating on her. The interesting part is years later I learned it was she that was cheating.
I went to her again and told her about my brother. She told me the same thing, he's always been weird but she included this. Don't tell anybody or your father because if your father hears about this we will all be out on the streets. My father made a better than great income. I'm from a well healed family. So I guess I was the sacrificial lamb. I had to put in the work so that my mother would have her happy little life shopping and maids and whatever. But I was the bad guy. This is something I've told myself over and over again and when somebody calls me a b****, it's very difficult for me to cope. I try very hard not to be the bad guy.
My parents are both deceased now. However, I put my mother out of my life maybe 18 years before she passed away. Self-preservation.
We cannot keep people in our lives that are toxic. Especially those that are really trying to hurt you in like you said covert ways. My mother it was so bitter and horrible. Another random thing about her, I was driving and she was a passenger in my car. We saw a man on the side of the road riding a bicycle. She hissed, why the f*** is he riding a bicycle, he probably f****** stole it. Everybody was horrible in her eyes. Nobody could be out for just a ride on their bike. SMH I remember vividly talking to my therapist about that incident alone and that was another one of the things that made me say I can't have her in my life.

Sorry, I also forgot to mention this. When I put my mother out of my life, I also put my sister out of my life. She was jealous of me! She is so much like my mother it's outrageous. My mother was so proud of her, she was never faithful to any one of her three husbands or any of her boyfriends for that matter. I had to feel so many phone calls from her husband's because she would use me as her excuse for not coming home. I told her countless times, I will not be your excuse to cheat. So that was the reason I had to keep her out of my life as well.

Narcissists are never happy with what they have, no matter how much they have. You could give them the world, and they’d ask for the moon, too. As soon as they get the thing they’re after, they get bored of it and begin their quest for the next thing that interests them. It’s a never ending cycle of greed.

@@Nikki_kat_94 I don't like to point that cause I'm no expert, but my ex had this exact behavior. Every time I was a "challenge" to her she would do everything to me, for an example when we broke up but would keep seeing each other. One day she knew I was hanging out with another girl, she would treat me like the love of her life and a few weeks after she wanted to be my girlfriend again. But whenever we would start a solid and "stable" relationship she would change her behavior in a few months and treat me in a terrible way, ghosting, being sarcastic and all full of herself like if she was Afrodite. The second time she did that to me I was feeling exhausted, emotionally broken, so I moved on from her. And like always she was the one that came after me after some time, but at that point I was strong enough to tell her to get her shit together first and then maybe we could share life again, even if as friends. She is an incredible person, always would cheer for me and tell me how capable and special I am. Just not the right person to have a romantic relationship but I hope she learns and find someone to be happy with.

Read, Frederick Nietzsche (iirc). His works make it clear just how well suited for chaos that we humans are. He posits that in a perfect world/perfect life, the first thing that most of us would do, would be to tear most of it down to rebalance the amount order and chaos in our lives.
I could be wrong about the philosopher. Been a while since ive read him.
In any case, yeah chick is a narcissist, but i dont believe thats her main problem. I think that shes restless, more than anything. Looks like the ever so always contemporary case of "My marriage isnt like they said itd be in the fairytale books of my early youth. Its alot of work too! Im going to act out and destroy this awesome life that i have bc its not exactly congruent with what the fairytales painted in my youth."
This one just happens to be a particularly bad onion.

They should have questioned her while the husband was in the other room watching on a monitor...

I cannot begin to imagine the toll taken in his spirit. I really hope he can find someone who is good. He’s probably too terrified to even try. Best wishes to the fella
