I think the entire show looks better in color.. BUT, the color reveal at the end of the B&W version is worth more.
What reveal? The color of her jacket?
@@BaithNain the original the entire movie turns color from black and white lol
I loved the B&W version. Thanks for posting !
Me too.
If this was the only way I'd seen it, I would still like it, but the b&w with hints of red before the "Somewhere over the rainbow" moment is more charming. I hope we see Jack, Elsa, and Ted again in future projects.
Love the Elsa's orangish hair streaks detail, just like her comic version.
The blues and reds make me think the next evolution of the film is a retro-3D version to be viewed with those red/blue paper glasses.
7:15 - Jack had "over 100 deaths," not kills.
The original B&W is an homage to the 30s/40s Universal Monster movies like Dracula, Frankenstein and The Wolf Man. It took just a minute past the opening credits for me to realize this color version is an homage to the 60s/70s Hammer Horror Technicolor suite of the same films. I was initially horrified when I heard they were offering a color version for 2023 Halloween, but now I have a another favorite MCU Halloween entry!
🎃 Is it just me or did they old-school colorize it instead of filming in color? 🐺 Incredible effect! 👻
watching this will be my yearly ritual. it is such a good short film
Just as good as before
The intro on 2x speed is fire.
Wish all Marvel films looked like this!
The gore in color is dope for Disney
1 minute and 08 seconds. thanks for the LOST Easter egg Michael Giacchino
Gael García Bernal played a great werewolf and Laura Donnelly was totally badass too they’re great in this!!! Here’s hoping Jack and Elsa make a cameo in Blade!!!
Can’t wait for Voss’ breakdown of even MOHR details (but really the same ones) from the color version
19:04 I’m calling it now, Elsa is gonna form the midnight suns.
was that a Rayman Legends music level variant reference? If so very appreciated.
I Am Groot but in Tomb Raider/Playstation polygon graphics? can I get an upvote? 😅
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
B&W preferred for sure
When I watched it in BW, I was wondering how will it appear with colors and after watching the Colorized version, I must say I preferred the BW more.
I also agree with some comments that instead of making it in hd with color, it's like a classic film restored in color.
Watching this in Tuscaloosa and I hear Zach randomly mention "Tuscaloosa" so I had to rewind to see what he said about it. By the way, a bobcat may not be the scariest thing, but it can still mess you up!
Until you can't see it and it mimics a mountain lion's growl 😵💫 not just wily with the claws but also wit those little crazed bastards are 😅
'Tuscaloosa' is one of my go-to city name references. I just love the way it sounds! -Zach
Better in B&W.
Honestly, I love it in color. 💚
In my opinion I liked it more when it was in black and white because it looked better like this and let our imagination fly more of how everything would look in color , but I also like this version
I liked it in colour I put it on for background and I ending up sitting rewatching the whole thing, I will say, the black and white aesthetic added to the setting and timing, I liked how we only saw the red from the bloodstone, that kill through the throat just shows Marvel should do more violence (Blade cough cough) the colour reveal at the end was nice but it just made me ask would they release it in colour 😅 I didn't mind the b&w, WBN is probably my 3rd or 4th favourite marvel Disney project since endgame but I like to see colours instead of guessing what they are, if you're one of those who can't stand people who don't like b&w, then it's you who is the sad one 😂
In color felt like a novelty.
The color version, made it clear that the film grain and pop was entirely artificial. The b&w version did a better job at hiding and masking it. The color version just looks overly soft, despite bringing out more detain thsn the monochrome b&w.
What if….? ?

B&W is better but the color does make it easier to see what's what
Comment👍
It's not better in color... particularly because the image is darkened. It's 100% more beautiful in B&W, more dynamic between the darks and highlights (and the blood becomes muted rather than the preferred garish, possibly the reason it was darkened) ... but it DESERVES to be seen in color since it was designed in color (Hell, they gave Elsa red hair streaks that you couldn't even see in the original) and now, rather than a Universal Monster movie it looks like a Hammer Horror. Still, better in B&W.
30th!
I loved it right up until Judy started singing and then I was like "fuck! No! They ruined it."
2nd
So instead of a part 2, they just gave us a color version of last year's special?
First
