@@JayKTS yes Jay I wish I had it when I started roof tiling and brick laying years ago. I was given a square jung trowel by a Dutch bricklayer , it was great , but the Brussel one I have is the best on wrist and for bucket for sure . Take care love your videos. Thanks for sharing.👍🙋♂️👏
Hi jay. Hope all is well. Love those bricks. I have the same in my fireplace. I went to a specialist brick supplier and he showed me a sample as I wanted handmade bricks for my job and another elsewhere. We settled on a price and he loaded them all in my trailer. I had asked him three times where they were made, thinking Norfolk or Lancashire. He said nothing and then when the last few went in, he said Belgium.....do you still want them or shall we unload? i see Steve and Alex got in ahead of me! Catch you soon mate.. Bob. Hello bob everything good here mate Haha that he asks you, want or unload is really funny lol 😁 awesome story , awesome you got Belgian bricks .. Thanks a lot man cheers stannyroefs.be/oude-stenen/
It’s a Belgian brick , not sure from where but it an old brick maybe “beerse brick” made in beerse not sure though Height around 5 cm length 19cm width 9cm approximately
Done well there Jay👌, on a circle i use a tramell for the bottom half, ime sure if you done the maths it could be done with a eliptical as well but that worked well👍, when was that done? Looks like Winter 😂
@@JayKTSit's a length of timber fixed at the centre of the radius you then measure and mark the radius from the centre, I then fix a nail here you can then mark the bricks to be cut.
Actually it’s more expensive because when it’s a half brick thick wall we need to cut all the halves so that’s crazy much work The random bond is the easiest but we also have the “wild bond” (wildverband which have some rules to follow and you need to stay alert or mistake will happen .. it’s no drama though one or 2 mistake really nobody will see that in your wall cheers guys
@@JayKTS thanks for the reply, I plan to build my house with reclaimed bricks and will probs do all the cutting myself to save that cost ;) Do you happen to have any videos around integrating bluestone above windows and or integrating "bourgondische tegelpannen/ roof tiles" into brickwork as accent?

Cheers zaid;)
Out of curiosity; Is bricklaying in cross bond a lot more expensive versus doing it in a random bond?
Cheaper I would say as you don't have to think with cross bond.
Actually it’s more expensive because when it’s a half brick thick wall we need to cut all the halves so that’s crazy much work
