Great video Jay. We have this problem often in the UK where older buildings are built in Lime mortar but repointed in sand and cement it just destroys the fabric of the building. Personally I would have done that repair in Lime mortar probably NHL 3.5.We have these Lime mortars widely available in the UK now but I believe St Astier Lime products are available in Belgium. 👍👍
Hi Jay. It's lovely to see an old building repaired with the original material. You take so much pride in your work, you are a real craftsman. I can see you like to show and pass on your skills. You should take on an apprentice. There are so many beautiful old buildings in Belgium, more skilled builders are needed. I really enjoy watching your videos, please keep producing them. You are a super talent.

But I don’t do these kind of jobs a lot anymore .. lately I’m building a lot of the new stuff .. all blockwork , concrete and steel … maybe later I will change up and only take classic jobs .. cheers man

Yes eventually it doesn’t hold up but it did a very good job so far to be built around 125 years ago .. cheers Andy have a good week brother

That looks great Jay! You made it look easy. But anyone who has worked on restoring heritage buildings knows how hard it is to patch in and make good.
