[08] is one of those seminal pieces that showed me way back then that popular songs can be precious works of art and that happily swinging tunes and romantic ballads are sometimes graced with lyrics that match the revered poems one is compelled to study in literature classes ... and may contain quite a bit of humor, too. Dorothy Fields is still one of my favorite lyricists, and Jerome Kern's oeuvre is pervaded with such harmonically rich melodies and incidental music anyway.
Thank you Henri
You have been posting absolutely top selections lately. These refined 30s sounds are so beautiful!

Thank you Gary
Although I recognized only a couple of songs on this post they all were pleasant and enjoyed all of them. A pleasant 40-minutes
of fine music. Looking forward to your future selections. (and hit'em hard)!
Fantastic set -- great ones, all. Special mention to the Hallett "Longing," Reisman "Savage," Martin "Cuter," Whiteman "Pettin'" Munro/Bowlly "Vieni" and Himber "Heart." These programs you put together really bring a wonderful -- and, sadly, long lost -- time into focus.
As always, your comments are much appreciated. I like all of those same songs you listed as well.
Great!! You're a busy boy Bob. Thanks for another fabulous upload.
Yes and these false copyright claims are going to piss me off. It's full scale war. I am going to blow this page up with so many uploads they won't know what hit them!!!!!!!
