    I'm on my second round of antibiotics. First a week of doxycycline, then cephalexin for a week ends tomorrow. As of today it has spread towards my outer elbow. It is currently in the crease of my elbow. It has never been tender or painful. Very minimal warmth. No blisters. Just the redness with a little lumpiness underneath. I see the doctor again tomorrow since it has spread. I'm scared that it will reach my total elbow that was done 4 years ago. This is very bad. Hopefully she will have a better game plan for tomorrow's visit.

    Using a wash cloth on infection transferred other ankle with no problem. They socks, underwear and jeans can transfer certain bacteria to other parts of the legs. Now after months of no problems it is red & skin is painful to the touch. 66 and this stresses the entire system. Thank you for your info! Saved to private file for future reference.

    I've had this in both lower legs. I was on holiday in Australia at the time and fortunately had great care. I also had a check up before being allowed to fly back to UK. Very informative, thank you.

    currently dealing with this:/ what’s the difference between draining and abscessing? there’s not much information about proper care online and my doctors weren’t much help either. the main thing that really helped was warm compresses and normal epsom salt baths. the 4th day into treatment i was at my worst and it was so painful to do anything at all and mixing a fever in was so hard. i’m thankfully finally feeling better and the hole that was seeping for 3 days finally has skin grown over so i’m very grateful🎉

      Been fighting it for over two years, the clindamycin clears up symptoms but it comes back again 6 weeks later. Having said that I am a Coeliac and dont always eat as I should so not getting nutrients in my system as I need to. I get it on the shin but my feet swell a lot as well, I thought I might be diabetic but I am not. Ongoing battle, Dr at the hospital said it might keep coming back and he was right.

    Just had three factors that played into my current condition with cellulitus. Edema,sorta scraped my shin and got infected somehow along with vein damage from likely the gym. Hospitalized for bout a week and also surgery on damaged veins sometime soon.

      I just figured I have cellulitis too. I've been cleaning mold from the floors of my room and I believe some of that got in a cut in my knee. It is my best opinion to stay calm. Know that the pain is only from the inflammation, and that nothing is disfigured . Stay strong, I pray for you.

      You need to seek medical treatment immediately whether you call 911 which I had to do in order to get to the hospital immediately I was not able to walk it was in my my feet and my legs the pain was extremely severe I had to have a cream to use on my legs pain medication which was Percocet Tylenol during the day cream to apply to the affected area I was put on doxycycline add cephalexin those are the two antibiotics that I'm still currently on@@Strongest_hoomans

    • @pammyj1000
      @pammyj1000 25 дней назад +1

      The same thing happened to me and I’m pretty sure it’s from damaged veins because I stand up at work sometimes to 10 hours a day so I did a deep dive on what to do at home and I found a video that says to elevate the feet and do foot exercises and within 30 minutes the swelling had gone down substantially. It’s because your blood flow goes all the way down your feet but if you have damage veins, it’s hard to get the blood to go back up due to the valves in the veins, that’s why the exercises help is because it pushes the blood flow back towards the heart inflammation goes down and the risk of getting cellulitis goes down significantly. It helped me a lot. Good luck.
