I adore this special, I love how it makes fun of it's source material, my favorite line being "all those gravel quarries" and the Master's "superior Dalek upgrades!" Ironically, the regenerations somewhat match what we actually got. Nine was to the point, ten was handsome, and thirteen was a blonde-haired woman. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!
Dalek Bumps 5.27K subscribers Black and Gold Daleks are extremely rare... But it's nice to see alternate reality versions of the Daleks that went from bad to good.
I remember liking this black dalek a lot as a kid, I even kinda wish they'd make figures of the Curse of Fatal death daleks. Also in one version , one with better FX from when it first aired and on the VHS (Most online versions have unfinished or missing FX) There's the scene with hunderds of daleks in a room and there a several black and gold ones.
You know... this special could be canon now, perhaps the War Doctor and the Master bi-generated off-screen and then regenerated into the new versions seen here...
You are facing certain doob 😂 Try not to clench! Oh look it’s got 3 settings 😂 I remember watching this live on T.V. Then got the VHS with the making of which has just as many funny behind the scenes clips. It’s my favourite skit of the show, it was put together better than some actual episodes lol 😂 I love how fan made props are so good they even get used in the show. Well deserved and well done to all you model and prop makers ❤❤
0:50 "implying that they had met before" Well the Hero drone Dalek is the repainted Dalek Supreme from remembrance of the Dalek, and the Doctor know the Dalek Supreme, so did the maker of Curse of Fatal Death know this and put that line there? That will be very meta
Maybe these are the daleks that appear in dalek empire The ones that are peace keepers but enforce it too much thereby still technically sticking to their original programming while at the same time keeping their promise to the doctor
Not really Dalek related, but one thing that's just occurred to me. And please feel free to correct me with examples if I'm wrong. In the Classic series there was a lot more talk about "Good" and "Evil", such as the Daleks being referred to as totally evil and there even being the White and Black Guardians, whereas in the Modern series you don't hear a lot about either being mentioned as if they were primal forces or significant concepts. Could it be sensibilities of the time changing from the basic "black and white" mentality or could there be some story reason behind this?
I was wondering if you’d ever do this special. It’s so whacky but interesting with the daleks depiction, though we may never know about why they have chairs. 😭😂
Hello! felt it was worth clarifying a bit on the Scream of the Daleks Supreme. It wasn't based on the Fatal Death variants but we did consider using them for the cover early on, but in the end we decided to go for the Black & Gold Dapol livery (figure W008-2, second Dalek they released) instead for the Supreme. It had existed prior to the Red Nose Day sketch and hopefully fans would enjoy another unique Dalek from the 7th Doctor's era.
Hi! Thanks for clarifying that, I should make a full video on the Dapol Daleks one day, there are some great designs in there. I'm a huge fan of your work!
@@dalekbumps Thank you! Dapol is definitely a subject worth exploring, probably not me but it would be lovely to see more of them eventually enter official canon down the line.
Also in the Curse of Fatal Death, when the Dalek first reveal themselves, they use one classic Dalek theme, but I don't remember which episode it was from, did anyone know what is that theme and which Dalek story is it was from.
Colour scheme is good, but the issue I had with all the Daleks in the Curse of Fatal Death was their finish make them look exceptionally plastic-y. I can think of one or two improvements but I'll explain later. Also, I loved Jonathan Pryce as the Master, he could have played the role straight in proper Who and it would have been amazing.
Yes indeed, I wanted something that was relaxing and nostalgic, and "Legitimate Business" from the Simpsons Hit & Run OST was perfectly suited for that. Good spot!
In an alternate timeline, the 8th doctor never regenerated into the War Doctor, but instead into Rowan Atkinson's 9th Doctor. But it appears that there are some fixed points in time, and one of those seems to be the fact the 13th Doctor is always a female.
you had an opportunity to put your profile picture onto the dalek bumps and you didn't take it. Also I have my own idea for a fan Dalek that I created whilst playing Garry's mod if you want to hear it.
I hate Curse, since it’s wildly childishly unfunny toilet humour. The Daleks visually were the best thing about it, even the way they fired. I like the Dalek/Gold design here (hate the Planet of the Daleks version) but would much prefer it on a genuine Imperial Design. I also like to see a red imperial version…. Mostly because they collectively remind me of my Dapol collection at the time
@@mattatobin I don't think it's accurate to describe the 13th Doctor from TCoFD as either classy or respectable - all of her lines are crass and mildly sexist Moffatisms, not least the sonic screwdriver joke 🙄 Say what you like about Jodie's Doctor and Chibnall's era but he never wrote anything as purile as that

They're not breasts ok? They're Dalek Bumps
Fun fact this was Roy Skeltons last time voicing the daleks before he regenarated into Nicholas Briggs
I think this design is very good. I like the black and gold look on that style of Dalek.
Imagine being new the show and this being your first introduction to classic doctor who xD
I will forever love that special's title. "Curse of the Fatal Death." It just cracks me up every time I hear it.

Basically, it's the blueprint for Steven Moffat's entire run. :P

I wouldn’t mind CO making a figure of that Black Dalek as an online exclusive.

I really like the Curse of the Fatal Death is basically the last episode of classic who, and it's a lot of fun when viewed in that lens.

We really need this special remastered on blu ray

Just thought I'd drop that one in. :P
For some reason at first glance at the master, I thought that was Ben Miller.

It’s weird how tersurus first came from a really niche area of doctor who which kind of means Steven Moffat owns lungbarrow
