As an American your barcrawl feels like a visit to a amusement park, given that if you go on a barcrawl in downtown Atlanta you might get shot for looking at somebody sideways on a Thursday evening.
Fun Fact: The smoke from the trees is actually steam being vented out from the London underground system. Most commonly from the heating and cooling systems but it can be from other sources too. You'll see this happening in New York City also.

I have to think Scarf’s Bar at the Rosewood, Artesian at The Langham, The Donovan Bar at Brown’s, and Duke’s are all more expensive than The Intercontinental and The Ritz. Also, maybe I missed it, but why did you go for the Beaufort Bar and not The American Bar when you were at The Savoy?
All the bars on your list are better. The channel went a bit basic and definitely didn’t find the most expensive. Brown’s literally has a selection of vintage cocktails for £500+
The Ritz is super reasonable price wise… hotel bars are always a good call in London Simmons is such a poor substitute for the Ritz. Was it meant to be a forfeit 😂 Loads of similarly priced decent bars nearby… could have gone around to corner to Brown’s, Dukes, the Lanesborough or the Wolesley next door… or somewhere like Scarfes bar at the Rosewood would definitely have let you in
You missed a gem with the green bar on regent street, its inside the hotel cafe royal and focuses on absinthe selections and classics with drinks been around 25 MINIMUM Or you can just accidentally a top shelf in jakes or rolands on call lane and pay that for a single measure LOL
My experience between a four star hotel bar serving a cocktail at £17, and a nearby boozer selling it at £7 is that the tenner isn't worth it. The LIIT that I had for example tasted just as good, since it's made out of almost the same brand of spirits anyway. Very different vibe of course (sophisticated vs casual) but the drinks aren't reflected in the price, the environment is
Oh no! You missed the classic Connaught Martini! It comes with a whole trolley + show at your table - and is epic 😆🍸! (Also in case you ever make a ‘part 2’, Absinthe at Cafe Royal’s Green Bar is 10/10 😁👍)
Mate I live off absinthe cocktails across all of Leeds so call lane, merrion Street, park row etc.. it may make an interesting comparison across all the indie venues because poo to corporations because costs (minus industry discounts) can be quite the variance

I lied and said a fiver (the truth is I paid £9 for a pint in York, but anyway, I'm not sure his heart could take that kind of shock) He then ranted at how he once went to this party and bought a bottle of Magners, and had to pay a scandalous £3.50 for it. I know right. He said he didn't buy another drink all night.
