- While many coal branches have come and gone, there are several on the old C&O in West Virginia that CSX operates. On December 17th, a group of photographers and I were hoping for some coal trains to shoot, and we ended up with a surprising amount of action, guarded by C&O signals!
My dad retired from the railroad, 30yrs C/O out of W.Va. My brother retired from CSX 20yrs out of Virginia. Thank you for sharing, brought back great memories.
Thanks! Nothing like seeing CSX in Kanawha County. Brings back memories as a kid!
Nice work. I'm from coal country in Western PA. Always enjoy watching RR action in WV. Thanks a lot. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Enjoyed the video and great work. I lived in Nitro, WV during the 1950s and 60s and spent time in St. Albans in the late 60s photographing trains on the former C&O. A few years ago I posted a piece on St. Albans on my website. It is nice to see C&O signals in place in some areas.
Could you share your website's URL? Thanks!
Very nice! Merry Christmas.
Glad to see you’re back!! Your videos are so good!!!
You should come and check out the C & O town of Thurmond and for short line action on the RJ Corman branch which drops off coal trains from a mine at Pax to Thurmond for CSX to pick up.
I have been many times! Here's a video with CSX, Amtrak, and RJ Corman action. ruclips.net/video/u6DvFZ0pAME/видео.html
