  • OHCR 8712 / 8702 show up lite to pull empty flat cars from a steel products receiver. The diamond they are at is where the line crosses the NS Lordstown Secondary. The OHCR used to cross the Mahoning River and connect to the Y&A before the bridge was removed. Their switching was slow so my battery died before they pulled the cars. We see them heading back crossing Crescent St in Youngstown. I followed them north where they passed what remains of the Erie Lackawanna engine facility where sand towers and a turntable remain. They do some switching at the steel mill before heading north of i80 where they reverse with 8702 now leading south. They go under the Lordstown Secondary and over the Mahoning River on their way to inchange with CSX at Yanda. Then back north to go work the scrap yard before returning to Briar Hill for the day.
