$3400 doesn't really sound as a 'hobby' anymore
The Quality is top.notch, this is for very exclusive collections, and big pockets too. This company is looking forward to establish itself (so it seems) as a superclass brand. Like the Patek Phillipe of statues
JND is KING of Statues. They just blown everyone else out of the water especially queen and prime for sure.

Portrait looks spot on and lifelike to me. If I was DC collector, I would definitely draft him into my Justice League… First round #1 pick…
Simply amazing! If I had the money I would buy both versions.
I like the pose, the sculpt, the colors, and a bit of the ribbing on the suit. The head sculpt is not 100%, but that's to be expected as getting something precise with sculpting is always a challenging. The base is not overly complicated, but you do not need it to be. I prefer the traditional suit over the Black one. as the colors really stand out more. It also seems to fit with the size/dimensions of the previous JND pieces. So overall, JND gets a 9/10 on execution, size, paint, sculpt, pose, presence.
As far as the price and the extra $800 for a bust, they get a 1/10. The cost is just not justified for what you get. This makes this piece less qualified as a hobby, and more as a high-end art piece investment. And we all know silicon will degrade over time (40 years at best), which makes the price a bit of a mystery. There are $3k + pieces, but they are usually massive and have all switch-outs included. And as you said, its the economy. Inflation is at an all time high and layoffs are rolling out. Sure a few resellers will pick this up and do an up-charge but there is not much room for profit with a piece that is already more than $3000usd.
I really like this statue and want to buy it, but that price is putting the brakes on this choice. There has to be a line drawn somewhere.
I can purchase the 1/3 P1 Green Lantern AND Sinestro for almost the same cost as that JND Superman.
All I want is the statue. No need for a bust or close fists. But $2599 for the basic package?
Thanks for the reaction video and always enjoy your opinions. Personally I have to say this is one of their best head sculpts like WW84c and The Batman and TDK. The black suit looks better at the moment, but revisions to the classic suit will be done and will look awesome. Honestly, I have a few JND pieces in hand as of now and must say their statues give you that much more joyful experience when displaying them, when looking and admire the realistic presence like a miniature version of the actor. I can definitely say 100% photos day JND and some others are not doing these item Justice. They look almost perfect in person. Nevertheless, Price is definitely expensive and low LE, so are not for everyone. It’s such a beautiful line to collect and I still think JND is better and better release by release. Hope who loves Henry Cavill and love this statue can collect this as well. I PO both versions already! The full JL line is coming 😊

If they would be "regular" Resin-Statues I would absolutely agree with them being overpriced, however I have no idea of how much more expensive it is to make a Statue with Silicon where you have to put in each string of hair separately, where they use glass eyes which look amazing etc.... obviously there is much more work as in time that go into these statues - how much more that is hard to say. I am sure that someone who appreciates how much work actually goes into such a statue will also pay the price for it.
I personally think it's very expensive especially the 800$ for the second bust/arms, but then again, I do not have any 1/3 scale statues yet and might be the wrong person to estimate the costs.
To put things into perspective; For $3300 I can get P1 Hush Batcave and Penguin after shipping. For $3300 I can get SS Nightcrawler, Scarlet Witch, Lobo, Batman Who Laughs and the New Joker PF…..

I don't get how their harley cost 2099 and has an amazing detail in costume etc and yet this with a sculpted suit and a silicone head is going for500 more.
I wonder if they 3d model the likeness or do they do what studios do when they need a cg double and scan the actor/actress.
Honestly Chris this head sculp Reminds me of what Sideshow did on the premium format headsculpt of Christopher Reeves Pretty bad and for that price anybody would be crazy to pay that.

So for $201 more than this Superman + bust, you could buy the Dark Knight Duo version with Batman and Bruce Wayne. Their prices have really shot up and while they say it is inflation, the increase is higher than the "official" numbers for inflation (which are debatable so take that as you will).
Is something with the cheekbones for some reason but I do see Henry Cavill in this not to mention they made him super swole like he did not miss chest day but I see this item selling but probably not as much considering that he's gone and some collectors might say we rather wait to see who's going to be the new one in the red cape for that might be the case for many of the DC statues and life-size bus that might be coming
Unfortunately, I don't collect silicone statues. It's very expensive and I haven't been impressed with the rooted hair. Like you said, it isn't 100% there, though I do like the pose and the fact they gave him the curl.
The suit is well fitted and visually appealing. Dislike the Justice League suit, but of the three, I definitely prefer the MOS suit since it's more natural to Henry's physique.
I wouldn't mind a Black Adam Henry Cavill with a smiling switch-in portrait. He's always so dour looking, but I want to make the choice if I want to choose stoic.
I've been upset with the Superman pieces as of late. Had to cancel my Christopher Reeve which sucked as I really wanted a great Reeve statue. I'm still looking for that definitive piece for both Henry and Reeve. Makes me kind of bummed.
I'd love for a George Reeves Superman (which I know is a pipedream) or a Kingdom Come Brandon Routh Superman.
Hey, how about a Superboy Prime or Superboy by Prime 1? Maybe even a New 52 type design or classic? Steel? Metallo? Parasite? Teen Jonathan Kent? DCeased Jonathan and Damian? There's so many options and interesting designs they could pull from. I just wish they'd break the mold and lean into the variety that Superman has to offer.
Oh, and for the love of God please, please, please make a Batman in Bethlehem Damian Wayne. I feel like he'd sell super well.

They definitely took create liberties by de-aging him, also the abs are far to sculpted and pronounced even tho Henry did wear an plates in the films. Henry is my favorite live action iteration of Supes and if I had money for it I would definitely have gotten this one

P1 can't sell 300 of their statues for months. Those sell out within minutes. I think it says it all. I would probably consider it if I didn't have superman hush 1/3

@@shaneculbert1 prime 1 and others use distributors as well. They just keep TBD price for a year and in the end sell less than JND. I've never owned JND piece and think they are overpriced.

I think it's gorgeous. For me my only issue is not with the figure. It's that Henry Cavill isn't really Superman to me. I never believed him as Clark or Superman despite the fact that the man looks like he was ripped straight out of the comic books.
Chris they just like to say their products sold out within minutes to hype it up but in fact they are always available as long as u get it on waitlist , I tested it and the Batman 2022 still available to purchase with my account even after almost a year, they just some manipulative greedy company using typical dishonest marketing tactics
For that kind of price I expect a near perfect portrait.

93% likeness, looks great. Destroys the Sideshow Chris Reeves. This is the best Cavill statue hands down. Price is too high. 2k would be acceptable.
I think somewhat overpriced but then again everything seems to be overpriced these days.
I was thinking about it but I have the 1:1 bust from Infinity, 1/2 scale from Prime, and a custom as well of Cavill so I think I'm covered! I also have the sideshow 1/4 scale which wasn't the best but I have it displayed in a way you can't really see the portrait!
I think something I'd be interested in seeing is a company doing 1/2 scale with these types of poses! For Superman, Batman etc.
Imagine a 1/2 scale Keaton Batman in an action pose of some sort!

@David Santoso I personally thought when I first saw JND, something seemed off to me portraitwise. I'd say positive and negative in both. I like the Infinity bust. However, I wish they would have made the hair darker. In certain light, you can tell its more brown tthandark.
As always, though to each their own. That's the beauty of art! I'm sure there are some that would disagree and say this portrait is better than Infinity.

I don't understand why some have to act like jnd can do no wrong and I have seen some comments saying those are criticising jnd are those who can't afford it,like what are you smoking?many of us get life size busts and some predator prime 1 are more priced than jnd, it's all about whether it's worth the money,and for me this is not,3400 for the entire thing is like asking jnd platinum wonder woman price for a non platinum product,JND's WW got popular due to it being justified of its price,with huge amount of silicone parts and the stability of it,this is not that good nor does it deserve such a price tag,so jnd and some fans get off your high horses,you have done good portraits previously for Joaquin,gal gadot, Hathaway and bale, that does not give reason to act like a pompous ass to your non boot licking customers, "silicone is hard to photograph"bullshit-infinity and queen studios bust looks great in most photos and in real life too,their gal Gadot,joaquin and bale looks good in photos and real life.And the sell out is only like a small portion in their website,retailers stock is still there

I really like the portrait. It's very well done in my opinion. Pose is also cool.
But the black accents on the blue suit are too much for me and I'm really worried about how he stands on his base.
If he isn't well balanced, it will be a massive lever for gravity to do it's job.
Not a friend of silicone either, but even for that it's totally overpriced. Will probably sell mostly to chinese collectors though.
Companies like Prime 1 and JND are more and more interested in grabing the big $ from rich chinese collectors. Guess I'm gonna drop out the hobby within the next years, sadly.

as you say it's way too expensive, I stop pre-ordering at JND because there are too many negative changes between the prototype and the final product (I speak mainly for the TDK batman). Thanks Chris 😉
Yep, we are in the same boat. That glossy carbon fiber plate make him look like a toys. Sadly that's my first PO from JND. The prototype look unreal. Too bad JND didn't deliver ok the final products. What a shame.

I’m sorry, I just do not understand what the hype is with JND. When they first introduced themselves and many positive comments came out, I thought it was people trying to promote the company, but too many ppl are on board with them. Their pieces are overpriced and never look good, in my opinion. That blue suit has undertones which I don’t remember seeing on screen. The faces are always off. This is another miss in my opinion, and I’m a huge Superman fan. Idk if I’d ever buy one of their pieces, but happy to anyone who believes these are great enough to purchase.
I agree, their best statues have been their dark knight Batman and 2022 Batman, even those have slightly off portraits (apart from the cowl portraits). This superman should be shiny but they make most of their statues solid and don’t use Material. This sculpt looks off too.

@@shaneculbert1 I have to disagree. They are not the best out there in my opinion. I’ve seen wonder statues/bust from Queen Studios, Iron Studios, and others but in way better price ranges. Have you seen the Payless shoe store switch where they slapped on high prices and renamed the store to make them seem worth more than they are?? Slapping a big price on the JND studios for statues which are not the best, give the illusion of being “the best”. I just don’t see it. Of course art is always subjective and I don’t knock anyone who sees it differently.
JND always seems to just miss it in my eyes…I can tell that it’s Henry Cavill, but it’s “off” in some way. I am really looking to have a 1/3 Cavill Superman, but I don’t think JND is the one for me. I’m hoping HOPING that Queen Studios does a classic suit version. The black is cool, but I love the classic look haha.

JND is always overpriced. But here the Statue is also pretty bad - probably their worst Piece since the Ledger-Joker. Terrible Likeness and the Muscles are sooo overdone. You never see them so extremely pronounced through the Suit. QS did the best Job so far, when it comes to Cavill-Superman.

JND pieces are like straight outta behind the scenes which lacks dynamic, doubt they really care about the character at all, they are way too focused on cosmetic aspect of the cast too much that they forgot to focus on the character’s soul and personality which the comic book fans actually love

Honestly JND just don't deserve the hype imo. Every statue is so expensive and the portrait is never as good as other statues. It also just is so boring. Always museum straight up and down pose. Like this just is not that great. Prime 1 looks more like cavill. Suit is more accurate. Hell my hot toy is and they are no where near this price. I dont get the hype. I watch will foxifacation and even before any statue came out he was going "that **insert statue here** is overpriced whereas JND is JND so it makes sense"

The heath ledger is not very good to me. The paint is wrong. Likeness not 100% which for the price is inexcusable. And it's so uninteresting. I think queen studios nails it more but again just my opinion.

Prime1 is going 1/4 because it's a new collectors group. Not because people aren't buying.
I tend to disagree.
XM is putting out a ton of statues. Doesn't sound like they're worried about customers not buying. These statues and bust prices are getting ridiculous. Not a sign that they're worried about consumer spending.
Besides, most of prime1's statues are 1/4 scale except for DC so it's not like they're just getting into 1/4. I would say that because of the price, there are probably more 1/4 collectors than 1/3.
Prime 1 Batman V Joker has more value than this.
