HAVE YOU CHECKED OUT MY NEW “POSTCARDS FROM MY GOLDEN YEARS” MERCH?
    Here’s the link - postcards-from...
Hi! I'm An Scott. I'm a happily retired 70 year old woman with my “golden years” on the horizon, living the “good life”, whatever that is on any given day, with my fun husband Jeff, and our “bossy” little Yorkie, Bella.
In just a few months, in April, 2024, when Jeff retires, we are moving from SW Florida, in the good old USA to Nice, France to live out our “golden years” on the sunny Mediterranean coast of southern France, in Nice France.
Moving from the USA to a foreign country is no small “project”. Through my videos, we’ll be taking you through the process, sharing the steps, talking about what we’ve learned and the ups and the downs.
SUBSCRIBE, FOR FREE, to my channel and as we progress through the steps of doing that, you’ll be able to follow along through each stage of our preparation and then catch up with us, as we settle in to our new life. We might even have some information you’re going to need if you’re also planning a move to France (or the EU)
I hope you’ll subscribe to my channel, join our Facebook community, connect with me on social media and share your thoughts and comments here or there.

Not really. But it was a nice evening. The place is lovely The food, I don't have to necessarily have again. There are so many other places in Paris where it might not be so expensive OR where I wouldn't mind spending the money.

The waitress did not speak English ??? You are in France, how about YOU learning a bit of French ??? I am sure that if I go in the USA nobody will do the effort to speak in French !!!

Excuse me! I speak French. I studied French for 8 years, back in school, over 53 yrs ago! I am not fluent. I always speak French, here in France and start EVERY interaction in France in French. My husband does not speak much French and is working on learning. If you followed our channel for a long time, you'd know this. There is no need for nasty remarks. It is very rare for people in the hospitality field to not speak English, particularly in Paris. Most young people in France are required to study English. Many pretend not to know any English. Regardless, I start every conversation in French. However, if I don't understand what the person is saying and don't want to spend a lot of time trying to translate what a busy server, getting impatient with us, for not understanding, what she is saying, in the interest of saving time, I WILL ask if the person speaks English--especially if it is a conversation my husband is trying to have with someone who doesn't understand his limited French. And if they say they don't speak English, as a last resort we use Google translate. We don't need lectures on learning French. We live in France and frankly I prefer to speak French. Comments like yours are not helpful.

I have been waiting for your videos on this trip. What a beautiful restaurant. Loved seeing it through your eyes. Just wished you didn’t play music to cover up the noises in the restaurant. I feel more as if I was experiencing the real thing when I can hear the actual noises and chatter. Loved being able to browse the entire menu with you and that you allowed us to see the check. It’s so helpful for planning our trip budget. Great video. Thank you An and Jeff. Please release more videos!!

I appreciate your thoughts. Unfortunately some of the background noise is actually silent, some just too loud or annoying or I'm editing snippets together and the background sounds would be too choppy. It is easier to treat background where we are not talking the same. I do appreciate your watching the video. There is more to come.
