love these cities where you can have individual butchers, fromager, fruit shops, it makes the experience and the interaction with these vendors really special beats the supermarket experience by far
It is a joy walking with you both, and Bella, through the streets of Nice…I’m in the early stages of planning a move to France…your videos are helping me. Thank you so much…your videos make me smile a lot… mesmerized by the ringing church bells…❤❤❤
Quiet Sunday walk, would love go back to the art gallery where there were photos of the Stones. Keith sitting on a papasan chair and Mick on motor bike. Missed you,An informing us of where we were and about your experience.
We have been sharing our new lives here in France, weekly, on our channel, with the exception of maybe a Sunday or 2, months ago, when we moved. Check out our library of past videos for any you may have missed. 😊
An, you are such a good sport for filming that entire walk! Some lovely architecture in Nice. I am in the Dordogne and am kind of jealous of all the people with shorts because it is chilly and rainy here this week! We love walking in the old town in Perigueux which is our nearest large town and the prefecture of our region. The many tiny alleyways are spectacular. Glad you are enjoying your journey!
We are actually traveling now, in chilly Paris and Normandy. We filmed that in Nice a about 3 wks ago, before we left. It was starting to get just a little cooler before we left. I stopped wearing shorts, but there were still a lot of hearty people in shorts. Not sure I'll be wearing them again until next summer, but we'll see what Nice brings us when we get back at the beginning of October. Thanks for watching and for your note.
Here in Canada we too have been separating our food waste from what’s garbage and recyclables. The city provides all three bins to every home and multiple dwelling buildings. All three bins are collected once per week.
We had recycling in the US and here in Nice also. The food waste bins are new here in Nice. Considering most were empty it appears they are not doing much to publicize this.
For a long time, I also thought the statue in the park was Apollo. However, a few months ago, I stopped and read the little plaque! Turns out it is a replica of Michaelangelo's David! Sure looks a lot like the Apollo in the fountain in Place Massena!
What fun to share your Sunday morning promenade😊. The obvious question is: have you tried The Bronx resto already? The online reviews are very good concerning their pizza, but I trust your NY tastebuds more😂
No, we haven't been to the Bronx restaurant. Probably not on our list. I am determined to catch that bagel shop, we passed, open, just once, to see if their bagels are as good as NY bagels. As for my tastebuds, they are more Philly and NJ, than NYC, since that's where I spent most of my life before Florida (and before France) I tend to believe and have been proven correct, that the farther you are, away from the source of a particular type of food, the less it resembles it. 😄
@@postcardsfromourgoldenyears I agree! However, my husband was born in the Bronx and went to Fordham, so we are obligated to give it a try🙃As for the bagels - do you think those are the Einstein Bros Bagels? If so, we are not fans of the one in Naples,FL...
@7314jazzy No, they aren't Einstein bagels here in Nice.. I think it said Goldstein or something like that. If you're looking for good bagels in Naples, when we lived there, we used to go to "Dough With A Hole" on 3rd Street Downtown. About as close as you're gonna get to NY bagels in Naples FL. I used to go there every two weeks for another dozen egg bagels for the freezer. I wish they shipped to France! They open early and close when they are out of what they baked that day. 😍
@@postcardsfromourgoldenyears Oh yes, love Dough With a Hole♥ Visited often (while browsing through the vintage stores),but since I've started limiting carbs, life is not as much fun😥
Yes a beautiful video BUT “BRONX” pizza??🤷♂️ Yes, I get after other vloggers when the show Coca Cola and even had one comment back that you have a Coca Cola plant in Paris so “it’s allowed!”🤣😂🤪 I live in Honolulu Hawaii where we have Boston Pizza🤬😡 Next time how about showing Merci Pizza or maybe Pizza a la Croissant? Merci Beaucoup🇫🇷
First, we didn't intentionally pick any particular businesses to show. This was not a video about the businesses in Nice. However, there was only 1 place I was actually showing on purpose and that was the bagel place, because if you've been following our channel for a while, you may remember we went there hoping to buy a great bagel or two but they weren't open at that time. They weren't open the day we passed them on our walk either. We were not highlighting the Bronx pizza, or any other place, however, the Bronx place just happened to be in sight of the camera. The point of the video was not to handpick places to show. We were simply showing people, places and the things we saw that day as we walked home from old town NIce. We have never heard of Merci Pizza or Pizza a la Croissant, but if someday we want to highlight pizza places, maybe we'll go out and look for a few. The title of the video was about the sights and sounds on Sunday morning walk. Period. This is reality.

Yes, you're correct!
Great video, An and Jeff. What time do these stores open on Sundays?
The ones that "look closed" are closed on Sunday. A lot of stores and restaurants are closed on Sunday--and Monday. 😙

Now that you’ve lived in Nice for 6 months now are you still happy that you’ve made the right decision to move to France ?
100% ! ❤❤❤
