But first: decat, as long as I can get the 3 bolts off nearest the engine. Damn rust, had to buy an impact wrench and some jack stands so I can really attack them. If all else fails it's angle grinder time!
When I changed clutch, I poured directly into where the removed gear shifter was until it poured out filler top hole. It is much easier! Don't have to pump in.
Can you do a video on how to change the blinker fluid
Blinker fluid is quite expensive. That's why most people never replace it. But as soon as i get a big enough budget, i'll make it ;)

MT90, you love your car clewrly with what they charge. Keeping that copper shiny shiny.
My RX-8 is up on all four jack stands and it's crazy that I've never seen my car up off the ground by this much! Way more easier to work on it like this. I refuse to get rid of her or put a small block in.

Do you know the part number for the trans crush washer? I know they differ from the oil drain washers
BW. The damage on the oil ring was from you prying at it. not from it sitting on the engine. But I do like your video editing as others said. Cuts the bs. I rebuilt my FD and got a new rx8 daily and videos like these cut out SOOOO MUCH time. (needed to double check top and bottom drain plugs.)

Hours of fun, and a lot of parts need to be taken off. I wouldn't recommend to do it yourself even with a video.
I thought that you had to fill it till the oil starts to leak from the fill plugs on both the differential and transmission?

The easiest way is to go to your local car parts store and ask for a transmission washer, have the old one with you so you know what to look for.

Hi Kristian, a small advice see if you had the same. I changed my gear and diff oil not long ago, it was very smooth then. After a few months it feels very gritty and rough during 1&2 gear. The rest is fine goes very smoothly to third gear from second. I thought it was cold weather but it is still gritty after it is warmed. Any ideas?

Is there a reason why you put 90 oil in the gear box and 75w90 in the differential, which is exactly opposite to the owners and workshop manuals recommendation? I'm just saying that in those cold winter days or whenever is 10 degrees or less maybe 90 would be too thick for the transmission and 75 will be too thin for the differential untill it warms up.
Ummm no no no, you got this wrong. Gearbox 75W90 GL4 and nothing else! And differential 75W90, and also tollerates 80W90. I've put the 80W90 in the transmission cause i wanted to feel the difference , and also the difference in viscosity is very small, but it's better for hot days, and where it live, it's 80% hot as hell, and 15% 5° and 5% like -2°.

Just hit 80,000 miles on my Rx8 still has a compression of Rotor 1: 7.5 7.6, 7.5
Rotor 2: 7.3, 7.4, 7.4
Btw whoever had my care prior took excellent care of it has so many upgrades!
Is there a transmission oil filter?? I looked it up online but I could only find them for automatic rx8’s
Nice video. I have a question about oil (but not transmission oil). How much oil do I need to add into the engine to come from the first (low) point of the dipstick to the center point or to the max point of the dipstick.
P.S: On this weekend we are going to the Mazda museum in Augsburg Germany with about 50 RX8's :)

Hey brother awesome video just have a question my rx8 makes a whining noise on first and second gear on low rpms and it kinda jerks when its in low gears aswell you think the gearbox is bad?

I used a royal purple 75w-90 gear oil and after some time driving the gear shifter was warm. Now it did become way smoother when shifting. Is that normal. Or is there a break in period for the new oil
Most folks I've read about say the RP oil will kill your tranny. Swap it out ASAP.

ANGIEMAI SAMUEL automatic is a bit more conplicated. I cant tell you how much more complicated, because I never worked on one, but I would rather take it to a mechanic :)
This one boggles my mind, here in California they charge $280 for this service... Its way too much and its really simple

Is it the same for automatic transmissions
Automatic transmissions are made a bit differently. If your rx8 is older than 8 years and you never changed transmission oil in this period, it is not recommended to change, because it can cause damage.

go to your local parts store or Mazda dealer and say that you need a whasher for transmission drain
granny shifting, not double clutching like u should :D

What you call granny shifting is normal shifting. No need to double clutch it in a normal gearbox with good synchros, unless you want to look "cool". If you want to help your gear box, match revs when changing gears down.
