These transmissions might be slightly different between the NA models and the turbo model. It should be close to the same but the owners manual does tell you what fluid and how much it needs after a refill👍
Yes I did drain it on the ramps. I just wanted to do a drain and fill to freshen the fluid up that’s still in the transmission. 3 quarts came out, and I just put 3 quarts back. I know you are supposed to do it flat but I had to work with what I have for tools👍
@@Eric-un1tq it took 3 quarts to fill mine. All transmissions will differ. Order 4 bottles of type fz fluid from Mazda and that should be the perfect amount👍
@@jonathancampos3005 I would consult the owners manual. I believe so but I’m not 100% certain. I believe all cars that have skyactiv technology use Mazda type fz fluid but the owners manual should tell you. It’s in maintenance specifications, but my owners manual doesn’t tell me how many quarts it holds or how to service it
If you’re doing this using ramps, be ready for a workout when removing the undercover. And, be ready to replace the stupid plastic fasteners that the engineers insist on using in the wrong locations!

What a great video, do you know if on the 2019 Mazda 3 you also change the transmission oil filter? Or is it enough to change just the fluid?

30,000-40,000
The earlier the better! ~30,000 miles and probably every 20,000-30,000 miles after that
did my service @ 165k km and now it has 194k km running buttery butters.

How many miles should I be changing it? I have 85k miles on mine and I didn’t know I’m supposed to change it 😢
Mazda recommends you don’t change it.
But others against that idea will say 30k-40k
